Can we have a men’s gifts thread

There are often threads asking for ideas for specific men and I’ve often picked up a good idea from them. I thought it might be useful to have a general one to share ideas of what we’re buying, hits and misses of previous years.
So far...
dh is getting clothes, new belt (sounds dull but he’s very particular and it took me a while to track down the exact one so he’ll appreciate the effort, and his current one is looking worn), a magnetic wristband (so I don’t have to hunt for missing screws) and Bluetooth earphones
Df will be getting sports dvds
Dfil is getting a weatherstick and toffee that you break with a hammer and possibly a wireless bird box or a trip on a steam train/canal boat (still thinking about this)

I’ve had success in previous years with grid it for both men and women, and with thin optics tiny reading glasses. Though it took a bit of convincing to give them a go, both dh and fil love them.

Sugru went down like a lead balloon here though it gets recommended a lot, and I’d quite like some myself.

dh has requested a weather station and some stuff for his mountain bike. Popular gifts from previous years have been stealth wallet and Grid It. Travel bags like these were also popular and ds liked his lock pit set. Neither of them appreciated Sugru.

@haggisaggis which weather station have you bought please? I’m after one for dh but have no idea which one to get!

My DH always ends up with soap, socks and miniatures of whisky in his stocking, plus assorted edibles and other small things I spot during the year - a credit-card sized multi-tool, a really chunky adjustable spanner from a vintage fair, a retro wine glass.

Over the years he has had a pro-vis reflective jacket (so he can be seen on his bike en route to work), running kit, books that suit his interests (he'll get one or two of those this year), a new backpack to schlep stuff to and from work, a watch, wallets...

@haggisaggis, those travel bags for your electrical kit are genius. I'm already on Prime ordering some!

@pinkdreams I eventually went for this one as got good reviews on Amazon and other review sites. I wanted one with wind speed measure as that’s important for us.

Got my dad who is outside at every opportunity and is hard to buy for due to his hobbies, some of Uniqlo's HeatTech thermals. Well worth it.

There are some fabulous ideas on this thread. I think I’m sorted present-wise for Christmas, Father’s Day and birthday for my DH! He would absolutely love a weather station but would never think to ask for one.

He also wants a good selection of books. He loves modern classics, along with authors like John le Carre, mystery or thriller type books or ones with an historical element. Does anyone have any recommendations?

My Dad is getting the new Bill Bryson books. He’s a big fan.

@gigglingHyena THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I had wanted to get DH a belt anyway, was looking for a good leather one, but as he's a keen biker/cyclist AND he's very into recycling, that is a PERFECT gift! Yay!

@Emma362 Have you heard of the board game "Who Knows Where"? My husband is keen on geography too and he likes it a lot.

(I hate it as I am terrible at world geography Blush )

Some great ideas here.
Isn't it funny that quite a few of the men haven't been interested in the Sugru. I had the same but I'm going to use it myself to mind the clothes airer - whoop whoop!
This might be a bit niche (or showing our age) but I'm getting DH some of these ear plugs to wear at gigs
