Thanks @VividImagination for title.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

How old are your kids? Would he appreciate a voucher from somewhere like buy a gift for a meal out for you two or afternoon tea somewhere? Or would it be a pain to get babysitters?

My husband is 30 and we have a 2.5 year old. So far I’ve got him a T-shirt from Monthly Tee Club and a voucher for a meal out at Zizzi’s. He also wants a new wallet, candles and some fancy socks. I’ve bought him vouchers for a mustang driving day/wet shave/posh haircut/massage before. Last year I clubbed together with his parents and got him a Switch. I’ve also taken DD to a local pottery painting place before to make something for him. Oh and a photo desk calendar with pictures of him and DD.

mummymilkfloat · 05/11/2019 08:54

Thanks as ever for these fab threads! I’ve had loads of ideas/deals from here...LOL dolls, G&B chocolates, photo glasses cloths, Aldi wooden toys, buyAgift vouchers.... so thanks everyone!!

I’m hoping someone might be able to point me in the direction of some matching Christmas children’s clothes for 0-3months girl, 18-24 months boy and 5-6 girl.
It seems to be either baby/toddler or toddler/child you can find to match. There is one at Asda but it’s black which I’m not too keen on putting the babies in!

Thanks in advance for any inspiration!

@youscumbagyoumaggot what about clothes or shoes? I’ll be honest and say that’s often my go-to for DH and he sounds quite similar to your DH in terms of interests. He would never treat himself to really nice clothes or shoes or bags so I’ve bought them for Christmas/birthdays for him. Got him a lovely Ted Baker wool coat one year which is still going strong 6/7 years later. Last year I got him his first pair of Allbirds and he loves them so much he’ll be getting his second pair this year. (The new Mizzles). I got him a really nice laptop bag from Fossil one year too and he also loves that and uses it daily. All things he would never have spent the money on himself, so while they are practical, they are also real treats.

wibdib · 05/11/2019 09:29

@ClaraLane if you haven’t got the wallet yet for your dh, check out tk Maxx - they usually have lovely ones that are marked as being £70-£150 for £15-20! Haven’t checked this year but they have for the last 10 years at least!

WaningGibbous · 05/11/2019 09:34

Bodyshop have 25% off with code 25LYBC but I'm still waiting for their 50% off - surely it's coming?

Stolenidentity · 05/11/2019 09:36

I just got some cute solar system lights for ds from Argos for £6.66

VividImagination · 05/11/2019 09:39

@youscumbagyoumaggot dh’s favourite gifts last year were a photo calendar and photo mug with pictures of the dogs! I got them from photo box, paying only postage, as a new customer deal. I wasn’t expecting much but they are lovely. He uses the mug every day, I dishwasher it and it’s still as good as new.

Whyisitsodifficult · 05/11/2019 09:42

Does anyone know if IKEA ever do voucher codes?

BeaLola · 05/11/2019 09:51

After a Contigo mug for DH got chocolate - but there are so many options ! Byron, autoseal etc etc

If anyone on here uses one are they all fab or are there versions to avoid ? Thank you

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 05/11/2019 10:00

@youscumbagyoumaggot you cheap lousy faggot my DH sounds similar and one of the best presents has been a poster with 100 top films and you scratch off the ones you've seen with the aim to see them all. About £10-£15 so if you have a big budget it could be a small present from the DC? Photo attached.

PS apologies I normally wouldn't use the word faggot but it had been done here Blush

Thread 11 - it seemed like a good deal but ......... can anyone tell me what it does and why I need it?
WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 05/11/2019 10:01

Btw, the film poster was (of course!) a recommendation from another MNer yonks ago.

PPS my Echo and smart plug are on the way - I am beyond excited so thank you whoever linked the QVC deal (can't find you in all the posts!)

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 05/11/2019 10:02

@BeaLola
Contigo autoseal westloop.
I've had mine at least 6 years and stil no leaks.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 05/11/2019 10:02

FFS the faggot comment had to be done here I mean Blush

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 05/11/2019 10:05

I need cheap lego! DS needs a box of lego with basic bricks, he's more into bukding his own ideas than the specific sets IYSWIM.
I have tried the get the 900 brick set that was £25 bogof from Morrisons but my 2 nearest don't stock it Angry
Any one seen any deals for large quantities of cheap lego? I want real rather than fake.

banskuwansku · 05/11/2019 10:10

I am getting dh a Lego set. I have couple in my mind and I will see if they get reduced in Black Friday. Other than that I don't have a clue.

RuskBaby · 05/11/2019 10:13

@ tinysnickersaremyfavourite Asda had the 900 piece for £18, has been on offer twice recently so maybe keep an eye on them.

gigglingHyena · 05/11/2019 10:19

@Elpheba have a look at the plastic bodum travel cups. We have a few for camping, and while they are slightly insulated they don't keep drinks hot anywhere near as long as my stainless steel one. They seem pretty robust, ours are a good 5 years old now and the kids are not known for being gentle.

Downside is they are not dishwasher safe.

Since this is the bargain thread, I should also add they often seem to be half price in my local Tesco, usually one colour at a time.

bikinibottommuffintop · 05/11/2019 10:28

For anyone who bought a smafolk mystery bag a few threads back, Little Footprint have released a few too, I’ve had one previously and loved it will see if I can find a pic of what was in ours- mixed scandi brands. They’re £32.50, rrp much more. They also sell Lanka kade figures/hair accessories too good for stocking fillers

mamabluestar · 05/11/2019 10:29

@IdleBet I'm not sure what age group you were looking at but I've recently come across these and they seem like a canny gift AR OCEAN Cards [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HYHCWC4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_J6uWDbZJ80J5Bher?tag=mumsnetforu03-21e]]

bikinibottommuffintop · 05/11/2019 10:33

Can’t find a picture just now but one I bought for DD had 2 dresses, pair of tights and pants/vest set in.

SilverLinings2014 · 05/11/2019 10:43

@youscumbagyoumaggot how about a wooden key ring with a drawing the kids have done engraved on it?

I got these for my DH and grandparents last year from Etsy and they went down really well.

https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/520090126/handwriting-keychain-wooden-handwriting?ref=shophomeeactive39&frs=1]

The seller gave us a 10% off future orders with code MWC10. Not sire if it'll still work but worth a try.

crustycrab · 05/11/2019 10:44

@tinysnickersaremyfavourite Facebook marketplace!

Stolenidentity · 05/11/2019 10:49

Forgot link solar system string lights £6.66

Looking4wards · 05/11/2019 10:50

@bikinibottommuffintop Thanks for the suggestion. I've just bought a mystery box to try out as I've never bought anything from them before. Fingers crossed DS gets some stuff he loves.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 05/11/2019 11:00

I've just ordered those lights for DH Blush He is definitely an adult Grin but loves space and I love fairy lights! Thank you
