No I haven't done one. There's nothing I can think of on amazon that I want or need 🤷🏽‍♀️

FireflyGirl · 17/11/2019 16:05

I have cleaned the upstairs bathroom and the two bedrooms, from top to bottom, including decluttering the toys/books in DS's bedroom. I've also cleared out the chest freezer ready for party food. I feel very accomplished today Halo

70 did you find choose your cake tin Xmas Wink

I'm going to even things out crazy and say the present one!

I have a proper office heavy sellotape dispenser. I love it. My original one broke falling down the stairs, and I had to look everywhere to get a decent replacement. The heavier it is, the better as it stays put while you're wrapping!

There's lots of deals around at the moment, Wreck. Have you been keeping up with the bargain threads? They're usually good for ideas of where has offers on, not just for specific items.

There's definitely one site been mentioned that is much cheaper for aftershave/perfume.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/11/2019 16:35

What aftershave is it?

You've been productive, Firefly!

WreckTangled · 17/11/2019 16:38

Hugo boss eau de toilette.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/11/2019 16:46

Which one, as there's quite a few?

I ache so much after my allotmenting yesterday. Can't wait to go to bed! 😂

Evening everyone Smile
Been busy today had to go up to Mum's to check on her legs and then we went to The Festival Park shopping centre to get DH some trousers from Cotton traders. Anyway we were very successful and got him a naice pr of navy blue chinos which actually fitted him Grin. Came home and then we went upstairs and sorted out his trousers for charity . He tried them all on and he has about 10 prs he can wear of various stages of decay Hmm 'they are comfy' and about 20prs of very good ones for charity . He says they are not comfy any more Hmm Grin. So one thing leads to another and then you just keep going sorting and sorting . The cats protection league will be very happy tomorrow Xmas Grin
I then had to book a hotel for DD2 the night before the rugby games in Cardiff because she has to work and said she will be really tired and stressed and the roads will be shut and she wants to find a flat or house before then Hmm I told her she was being daft and that you need to look at a lot of places before you buy , not just because you need to be in Cardiff for the matches Hmm. So l took the bull by the horns and we booked the hotels . She thought they were very expensive but when we looked they were not bad at all Hmm silly girl Smile
Wreck that after shave is expensive even on Groupon, doesn't give you much leeway for saving money on it worse luck! Glad your DH will get paid for being called out to the alarm Smile
Fluffy well done on all your wrapping and cleaning Flowers
Crazy l like them both too but you could theoretically use the one with the bow all year round Smile A cushion is not just for Christmas Xmas Grin
I have been watching the Dogs Trust advert and l love it Smile
Firefly girl you have done brilliantly with the cleaning & sorting well done! Flowers
70 did you suck the Amaretto off the dried fruit ? Well done if you resisted Xmas Grin
Nero that sounds lovely and no amount of money can make up for times like those Flowers
Right l better shift , I'm a celeb is on in a bit , have a good night everyone Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 17/11/2019 20:55

I'm struggling with the aftershave too. Can you list everything? We'll find the cheapest thing on the list for you between us!

Mrs, busy as ever! You're very patient with your DD.

I'm 5/6 through the cross stitch. 1/6 to go. Hopefully I'll be onto the Snowman ones by next weekend.

Mrs you sound like such a lovely mum.

Ah thanks fluffy. It's the weather station (a coloured screen one), Jura 10 year old whisky, dewalt drill bits Confused, cracklight drone with WiFi and camera, USB rechargeable bike light, wireless power bank... tbh dh should be giving me the money for this as I've paid for everything else for Christmas (the dc and my family) I expect he will when he has some money. Poor dh has got bil's gf as his secret Santa. We've only met her once!

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/11/2019 21:24

Beautiful Fluffy I am now eyeing up snowy church scene cross stitch pictures for next year 🤷🏻‍♀️

MrsMad I agree with Fluffy you are very patient with your DD. It's hard to work around their determination when you can see that being a little more patient would be better.

Crazy Given the time left before Christmas I'd go with whatever one works up faster. I think the present one would be quicker to make - assuming that the red part is made in one piece and then the bow is added separately. The Santa one looks like it involves colour changing and lots of sewing up.

Nero excellent quiz win and I'm glad you had lovely family time at CP.

I've got a week of baby knitting then I'm on to Christmas craft stuff next week. My friend has asked for Ferrero Rocher covers and I have to make my Christmas angel tree topper before I can put my tree up plus I've got some Woolly hug squares to make. I'm in the NW next weekend and I hope to fit in a trip to Liverpool on Monday to buy a personalised Quality Street tin

Mrsmadevans · 17/11/2019 21:55

Oh .......thank you all so much that is so kind of you all Flowers. l don't feel as if l am a lovely Mum at all. It is hard work as we all know Xmas Grin
Woolly you are so good to do all this work for charity well done m'dear Flowers
I bought this for myself today , it was £15 in the sale shop in festival park.

I have the cake tin, one of those adjustable ones from Lakeland (up to 12" square ) I had to work out the fruit weight then how much butter/sugars/flour/eggs after finding a recipe that had square rather than round !

The animal charity adverts are always really gutting this time of year , the Dog's Trust one is really clever , the CPL one is really sad. ( I got DD a CPL Sponsership , £6/month . Our two cats are CPL and they said they don't want any more , thanks . I remind them that 6 months ago they were waiting but it cuts no ice ) .Actually our two get on really well so adding more probably wouldn't work.

You've all been very busy , very impressed Xmas Grin
My DS won't wear aftershave or cologne .

I bought (online) some Molton Brown showergels (5x100ml) for stocking gifts .
Earrings for DD
A ring for DD (her request)

I have no clue what I want for Christmas though , I'm not fussy , I just don't want "things" .
I don't smoke , drink, wear make-up. I have enough (nice) bath stuff .
We got a new-to-us car this year ( 3 yo)

I unpacked my winter clothes and have jumpers (identical style) in red/navy/cream/dark green/charcoal grey (I must've really liked them ) Xmas Grin

I'll do the cake tomorrow , DD is home (6th Form closed) and I have my trusty Kenwood Chef . She can sample the Raw Cake (like Worzel Gummidge)

NoWordForFluffy · 18/11/2019 06:11

Morning!

I have no clue re Christmas either, 70! I'm impressed with your jumper collection. Xmas Grin

Woolly, I really like the snowy churches. I'll have to keep an eye out over the year to see if I can get a reasonable one. And you have to get a QS tin! Xmas Smile

Bloody cold today. 🥶🥶🥶🥶 Weirdly cold November, I think.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 18/11/2019 07:10

It looks like it's warming up again weather wise, after Wednesday anyway. Going to be wet again Hmm

I've added a few bits to my wish list, a scarf, a popsocket, some nice shampoo and conditioner I wouldn't afford myself.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/11/2019 07:15

We're warmer / wet from Sunday, Wreck. I think I prefer cold and dry! 😂

At least you've thought of bits.

Chocolateteabag · 18/11/2019 12:32

Hello - looks like some productive weekends were had!
We were away for Saturday and most of Sunday - which would have been lovely except that the DC's have got this stinker cold. They tag teamed through Saturday night coughing and spluttering with temperatures. We were staying with friends so I ended up with DS1 in one room and DH had DS2 in another, 1.30am DS2 comes to my room as "Daddy is keeping me awake snoring and farting", which wouldn't be so bad but DS1 had just dropped off and I had been flat asleep too.

however we have got through it - they are both of school today and watching TV. They are convinced they've found a swear word in the Horrid Henry film (they haven't ) so I think they are on the up.
DH is WFH today so I'm about to go out and food shop before a manic week of work and evening activities ensues!

I also need to work out a trip up to see DSIS - she ahs started on a targeted drug now and they are talking of moving her to a rehabilitation centre which is good news. Might even have her out of hosp for Christmas!

Crazy - you will have started but I like the simplicity of the present cushion

70 what about more "experience" type presents? a craft day or course, tickets to a show (Alexander Armstrong tickets were DSIS's birthday present to me & DH)

Flouncy I could do but I can't really be bothered to be honest. Plus the nearest screwfix is about 20 miles away Grin I'll just have to get one thing off the wish list and not worry about trying to find something nice, thoughtful or special if that's how they want to do it. It does mean less stress but someone I've managed to make it more stressful for myself Grin

Right?! I use amazon for gifts for children and maybe the odd home item (toothbrush heads Grin) but not much else. I'll just let dh sort it.

I've decided I'm definitely taking the dc to see the lights in London. £14 for the train for all three of us and we will go at lunch time so will just grab a McDonald's on the way home and a festive hot choc when we're out so doesn't need to cost loads.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/11/2019 17:28

Chocolate and flouncy, sorry you've been dealing with ill people. That's no fun!

Flouncy, I have 3 Bothy kits (one is a Christmas one), one I started and didn't finish which is a bird one, another bird one, a white Christmas tree on blue background DMC one and two Snowman ones! I think! 😂

Wreck, I'll look on the train to see what bargains I can find! I forgot this morning. Xmas Blush
