70 I hope all goes ok for you!

Where in the country are you firefly? You're getting battered by the weather 💐

MrsMad what's WR? Hope your dm is ok?

flouncy don't forget to post cross stitch pics to inspire me to buy more kits Xmas Grin

Wreck stockings for £100 should be easy. How many do you need to do? We always had a choc Orange, choc coins, fruit, book, socks and a small toy or something.

I'm having a bit of a stressful day in work as big deadline is looming but I'm finishing at 4 which will be nice - I can't wait.
Plan for the weekend - get the Christmas shopping done and craft craft craft with the aim of feeling more in control come Sunday evening Xmas Smile

WreckTangled · 15/11/2019 14:23

I think I'm done! I got onesies from M&S (2 for £25) because the primark ones were grim. I still need to get advent calendars ds doesn't like chocolate so need a white choc one. I also got my dad sorted so that's good. Have the DC's main presents too also bought myself a jumper still need my brother but no idea what to buy a 22 year old farmer... I feel a bit better though. And I got pigs in blankets. Grin

Well done Wreck you did great by the sounds of it Xmas Grin are you going to show us pics of the jumper and the onesies Xmas Grin
Enjoy the piggies Xmas Grin
Fluffy , thank you m'dear. l wanted to Ponsy bake a Pannettone myself but then they had my favourite one in WR and l thought l would be better off making my own Mince pies which are more realistically achievable Xmas Grin
So went to Mum's this morning as per and her legs looked awful again, cellulitis, she has been on 3 weeks of Clarithromycin for it and they did seem to be responding to it but l go there this morning and it has flared up overnight. Do you think l could get past the Receptionist to get Mum to see the Dr ? I kept on and on they rang me back 3 times trying to put me off but l asked for a home visit in the end and they capitulated. Took Mum down and they were shocked when they saw them, l think they thought l was exaggerating Hmm. Thing is, l am trying to keep her well and avoid taking her too hospital for i.v's and using a bed up and it is so stressful having to fight all the time for care for her. Anyway , Dr saw her , took swabs gave her different Ab's & will see her on Monday with the results of the swabs. Mum said to him 'l don't want to go into hospital Dr' , he said to her , 'don't worry if you need IV'S then we can arrange for you to have them at home with the District Nurses ' . So that put our minds at rest Smile
I was so stressed l shouted like hell at my DH and he didn't do anything wrong. I have apologised profusely don't worry and now l have the guilts Hmm.
Crazy, deep breaths you are nearly done. WR is Waitrose m'dear Smile
I went to see my BF 1 yr old twin grandbabies yesterday, their Dad is like my nephew. I am very fond of him & his wife. They were so sweet but l was worried about him. He is very overweight, smokes, works hard in a very stressful job, his grandfather died very young with heart disease and he was sweating in shorts & a tee shirt in the house , lt just struck me that he was at risk of an early death you know ? I can't say anything to any of them because they all know and l don't want to upset him/them. Sorry to offload to you all but it helps me so much , Thank you all Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 15/11/2019 15:10

I ummed and ahhed over the onesies, but think the kids would get too hot. Shame, as they're cute!

Lovely cross stitches, flouncy!

Sorry your mum isn't too good, Mrs. Flowers

Well done on the shopping, Wreck.

I've told DH we're wrapping tomorrow night (Sat!). The excitement! 🎁

Your poor Mum Mrs .
Yes , they can arrange home care for IV antibiotics and painkillers .

I can see where your Mum is coming from , loads of people , especially older people are terrified of going into hospital. They worry that they won't get out Sad . And there's all the flu/colds/D&V and risk of Hospital Aquired Infection to contend with .

My DD ordered herself a onesie from the PrettyLittleThings website (we re-imbursed her , it is for her Dec 1st Hamper)
They are not glamorous Xmas Grin . My DD is 17yo , 5'7" , size 8 , and even she looks like a Yeti , Onesie is cream.

I have nothing to wrap at the moment , so disorganised

I have a couple more bits for DD Beauty Advent to buy.
Got their chocolate Advent Calenders stashed away .

Have a good day everyone . I got woken up by my DS getting going to work . He's at University but recently started a P/T job and he's very pleased to be earning some money and get work experience but he is Hmm Shock at how some of the customers behave .
You know how people say that everyone should do 6 months in retail....... I did warn him about face-to-face General Public but I don't think he believed me Xmas Grin .

WreckTangled · 16/11/2019 08:21

The general public are awful 70!

I don't know what to do today. I have loads of washing and tidying so that's probably it. Can't really go out as don't have the funds or fuel and if I got anywhere I'll just want to spend money. Dh is working today and tomorrow.

WreckTangled · 16/11/2019 08:23

Also Ds' Christmas present is being delivered today which is really annoying as it's obviously the only day of the week that he's here!

Mrsmadevans · 16/11/2019 08:30

Morning everyone 😀
Sunny here and cold but it's lovely there is no rain 🤗
Just watching the weather forecast and it looks like Monday and Tuesday are going to be lovely and sunny 🌞😊
Fluffy thank you m'dear, Mum is very at risk but l chase everything to get her the best care possible 🤗
The onesies look darling I can't wait to see them 😄
Good luck with the wrapping 👍🤪😄
70 thank you m'dear , l am hoping Mum won't need to have IV's or go to hospital if we can avoid it but l can only do my best. Honestly l could have cried yesterday instead l took it out on my DH ☹️ . They , the surgery, just wouldn't listen to me 🙄.
Your DD sounds just Beautiful. l bet she will look so cute in her onesie . Don't worry about the pressies. You just get better 💐
Better shift , off to Mum's have a lovely day everyone 😀

Mrsmadevans · 16/11/2019 08:33

Wreck there are some lovely Christmas films on m'dear, one of my faves White Christmas on Film 4 at 11 , guaranteed to put you in the Christmas spirit 😁 Ice age is on and Mrs Miracle 😄
I have put the box on to record them 😁
Have a lovely day M'dear 😊

NerosFiddle · 16/11/2019 09:52

Morning all. Can't believe we're in the 30s now.

It's been such an amazing week in the Nero household but I'll try and catch up with you all.

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/11/2019 12:34

Nero you tease!

I've got a couple of hours to myself so I'm sorting where we are over various times in the festive season which is leading to meal plans, menus and shopping lists. By looks of it I will be visiting every major supermarket in town!

FireflyGirl · 16/11/2019 12:55

I always resort to cleaning to avoid going out and spending money, Wreck. I've spent the morning de-cluttering, inventorying and cleaning the kitchen cupboards ready for the Christmas goodies and making lists of what we need. Feeling quite accomplished for Saturday lunchtime!

We were supposed to be going to a DH's friend's DD's party this afternoon, but due to the sparsity of said cupboards, ninny here gave DS the cupboard staple of peanut butter quesadillas for lunch and DH's friend is highly allergic to peanuts. Cue a very disappointed DS Sad

How's your mum doing today, MrsM?

WreckTangled · 16/11/2019 13:36

Oh no firefly that's annoying.

I've cleared out the cupboards in the tv unit and done some washing. I'm not bei particularly productive but am plodding along Grin

We're watching nativity 2.

CrazyBaubles · 16/11/2019 14:07

Well done on the shopping Wreck

flouncy your cross stitches are beautiful!

MrsMad your mum is so lucky to have you fighting her corner. Am 😡 that you have to push so hard though.

Fluffy you're so organised! I refuse to wrap anything until the decs are up, but I enjoy wrapping, it makes me feel relaxed (I know that's weird).
I've signed up to a charity thing in work which pairs you with a child under SS care. You know if it's a boy or girl and their age and buy them a gift. I've volunteered to do the wrapping for that too Xmas Smile

70 one of my first jobs was p/t in McDonalds and it was a very steep learning curve. People can be ridiculous!

Neros that's not fair Please please share if you have good news!

I'm also having a day of cleaning. Have washed all dog beds, 2 loads of laundry, deep cleaned kitchen which DH 'deep cleaned' the bathroom. Am just putting more washing on radiators before changing bedding then going to deep clean the living room while watching the rest of an awful tv Christmas movie (gingerbread romance).

DH is out so I'll then get on with ordering more gifts online and crafting. May also take a break from that to write some Christmas cards...

WreckTangled · 16/11/2019 14:09

Crazy that's a lovely thing to do.

Have found this for which buses to get in London to see the lights. Not sure if we will get to go but I really want to. Can drive and park free on a Sunday but that means ds missing football which he loves. Could go after football but less chance of being able to park... decisions decisions!
