Sorry, a pesky phonecall about actual work interrupted me!! But I was able to enjoy lots of talk about glitter and sparkle and magic while I worked yesterday, and occasionally switch from typing to watching - so I was surprisingly productive for the afternoon!!

Didn't get much else except a few bits of other food. Bought DD1 a Blu Ray player for Christmas but she will have it Friday (Amazon) because hers has broken.

I told DH this good news , he said "My life is complete" (I detected a note of sarcasm though. I will punish him by hiding the Mince Pies when the Sainsbury order comes in )

I have had to catch up with the 21st Century and shop online (not up to going out and doing the driving/pushing trolley/load/unload/pack car/drive home malarky)

I watched a Channel 5 film "A Prince For Christmas" it was truely tosh .

Ordered some QVC and Boots beauty gifts online ( Gawd the Boots website made me want to hoik out my own spleen with a spoon , so bloody slow)

Wreck the incidence of diabetes is a huge issue in the NHS - if people were better controlled like yourself it would make everyones life (the patients and the HCP caring for them) so much less traumatic.
My caseload is 90% patients with diabetes , some of them are so unaware and though I'm not there to scare them, I see the 'glazed switched off' look in their eyes when I try and emphasise the risks they are under .
Then there's people like my Dad who at 82 is very well controlled , sometimes has to come off his meds (Type 2) as he loses weight , watches what he eats and walks a lot ,.
( I know I'm getting old when patients are younger than me . The majority are Type 2 . Co-morbidities , bad diet, poor control, head in sand , smoking , aaargh )

Firefly I wish I had my own office - I'd have a little Christmas tree up now I think. Unfortunately I am 'mobile' and travel to different sites so my desk is in a small bank of 6 and I'm not at it all that often.

I've attached a pic of a cross stitch I would like to have done for next Christmas (or one similar to this) - I don't see it happening though.

I went out for a spontaneous meal with my friend after work as she's having a hard time. It was lovely and I think it helped. Tired now though 😴

He asks (among other things) how much I drink, before I can answer, DS1(9) pipes up “Mummy drinks all the time!”, DS2 (5) adds “she drinks wine and beer”
All I could think to say was “not in the same glass”

Eek, almost into the 30s!

It's bloody freezing! Is November usually / meant to be this cold?! 🥶🥶🥶 We've had northerly wind for most of the month, which does explain it.

And yes, big windows, Mrs. Though we're moving into the city centre in a couple of weeks. The new building does have windows though it's a 60s' carbuncle! but not such a nice view!

70 I think I watched that one the other day! So rubbish I loved it it really drives me mad, people need to take responsibility for themselves. It's boring and hard work but everyone should be loving a healthy lifestyle and avoiding processed food so if you try to look at it like that it doesn't seem such a hardship.

Fluffy I treated myself to two dark chocolate digestives yesterday my favourite! I'm still going to be strict because I want my hba1c lower than it is (below 5 and currently 6.2). Plus if I relax I run the risk of going full on carb fest that view is stunning!

I agree it's really cold at the moment. The heater in the dc' room isn't working so need to phone about that.

I got my free booze from Sainsbury's yesterday (well, it cost a quid!), so we are now well-stocked for Christmas (possibly too well-stocked!). DH has beer for his birthday and Christmas (with other stuff!), so he will be stocked up nicely too. And I got him a bottle of red wine too, as he drinks it but I don't.

I'm glad it's almost the weekend. I'm quite tired this week (I've not been going to bed early enough thanks to the cross stitch).

70, have they said how long you'll have to be off work? At least you can put your feet up and indulge in online bargain-hunting!

My sister says it's snowing in bath. It's just foggy here. Humph.

Also fluffy I don't ever finger prick for my sugar levels. I have a freestyle libre which is a flash glucose monitor. It's on my arm and I just scan it with my phone. So clever

DH is in trouble today. I got dd to bed at a reasonable hour and I was in bed myself by 9, so sound asleep when he called (3 times!) at 10:30 - it could have waited until the morning (to do with lifts to hockey match on Sunday!). And then as I was just dropping off again, the heavens opened fully and the noise of the rain drowned out the radio (very unusual in our room) so that woke me up again....and I was then disturbed for the night. My catch up night!!!😡😡😡. That’s it, I’m taking a day off next week...

That's lovely, MrsM. DH and I both hate having our photos taken/videos, but I'd love to have a compilation like that for DS one day. Seeing their baby grow into a young man made me teary eyed, to think that will be DS before long. He's currently in the twirling around the living room with a brolly stage, which I love

It was also interesting to look at it from the other side as well, and see the parents grow older.

That's going to be my resolution, I think. Make sure we capture more photos/footage of DH and I with DS!

he young man in the video is a year older than my DS and the daughter is the same age as my DD.

It was lovely , especially at the end where he hugs her (my DS would bite his own arm off at the shoulder rather than cuddle his sister )

What is that ad from Mrs? I saw it when I looked for Christmas ads on YouTube but can't figure out who made it / why?

Wreck if you could bottle your determination I would pay £££ for it. I need to be healthier for a million reasons but I find it so hard.

Am now beginning to panic about presents a little - I know what I need to do but I'm not doing it and it's making me stressed so I'm going to use the next 30mins (my lunch break) to add things to my Amazon basket and get things moving!
