My lottery win dream house looks like this. Modern really isn't my thing - much prefer traditional tbh.
I need roomy but not huge, cosy and with land because I would love to own donkeys, chickens, goats and dogs Xmas Grin

What challenge is this you mention MrsMad? Must admit, I really dislike Dermot

Just lost some time down a YouTube Christmas ad rabbit hole. None of them seem very good so far this year not even the M&S jumper one sorry Fluffy although I accept its the best of a bad bunch but I just rewatched last years Sainsburys one (the school play with the Turkey drummer, singing star and the cutest little boy dressed as a plug). I'd forgotten about it and it's so sweet so am glad I had a look now.

Six weeks today!!!

WreckTangled · 13/11/2019 06:18

I don't think that's my lottery win dream house as it's just a normal house really (obviously bigger and nicer than mine Grin) it's just a nice location convenient for work etc. If I won a few million then yes but mega money then I would get something different.

Ds woke me up really early this morning. He's downstairs watching tv I'll have to get up soon.

I have a hospital appt today with my diabetes consultant.

Chocolateteabag · 13/11/2019 06:56

Love the Robin cross stitch firefly - I haven't ever got the hang of it but that is a cute size for a card or gift tag too.
Wreck - my first thought at seeing "your" house was "where's all their stuff?" Took me a while to realise it must be a developed house. I am always amazed by people who don't have piles of "stuff" about the place - essentials like the eleventy billion scraps of drawings that need to be kept, half made lego models and chargers for unknown appliances that you dare not throw out. Maybe I need to be Kondoed for Christmas?

Hope your appt goes ok - we have a Dentist check up later, I'm hoping DC's have teeth like Dh and not my Swiss cheese pegs!

WreckTangled · 13/11/2019 07:11

Eugh I hate the dentist 😭 hope it goes well. Yeah the house is a new build! Far enough from town to be quiet but close enough to get deliveroo. That's my actual dream we don't get any deliveries here Grin

Morning!

I don't know what my dream house is. There's some lovely expensive ones not too far from us which would do after a lottery win, but if we won £1m (that's all we want, we're not greedy!) I'd go for a spacious 4 bed. I'd never get a cleaner, so it needs to be manageable. 😂

It rained here all night but is drying up now. I'm also to finishing panel 4 on the cross stitch. The silly yellow squares take forever as they're individual, so you're constantly sewing your thread neat into the back, doing 4 stitches, then moving on to the next one!

I love how many robin cross stitches we've done on this thread. I think yours would be lovely as a decoration, Firefly.

No deliveries here in the sticks either Wreck it's a chilly one again, but over sodden wet ground so it's a crunch then a squelch into cold mud. I will enjoy cleaning DDog after our walk today (I am SE and WFH - occasionally I imagine I'm a lady of leisure but then realise I've a ton of work backing up!)

DC's school is all coming down with the lurgy this week, I'm supposed to be having a day out on Friday - you know it's not going to happen don't you!

Oh my goodness flouncy they're so cheap for what you get!

I would also get professional Christmas decorators in every year so my house would look like the ones in the American films Grin

DS has a sickness bug so I have been cracking on with my cross stitch. It's my birthday and have had to cancel the babysitter for this evening so going to treat myself to Deliveroo and some online shopping :)

EmrysAtticus · 13/11/2019 10:05

Oh am also wearing my Christmas slipper socks!

Ellie if we're going full on dream home I'd live in Canada for a few years in a big timber house then buy a farm here.

Wreck Hope your appt goes well although I'm sure it will, you control your diabetes so well.
Also love that your house priorities includes deliveroo 😂

chocolate good luck with the dentist. I bloody hate going, they always seem to find a problem 🙄

No cleaner if you had a lottery win Fluffy? I would have 'staff' Xmas Grin - ideally a driver and cleaner and gardener

Those houses are lovely flouncy
DH would love to live by the sea but for me, I find it stressful. Give me a lake though and I'm happy (which is why I'd love to live in Canada, their lakes are amazing, and I have a tentative plan to retire to Loch Ness).

🥳 Happy Birthday Emrys 🥳
Sorry your ds is sick.
Your cross stitch is lovely though.

Had to de-ice the car this morning for the first time this winter. I also wore gloves because my gearstick is metal and too cold to touch!
Work again today but hopefully will be finishing on time - determined not to slip into staying late too often.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/11/2019 13:25

Nope, no cleaner. I have trust issues! Grin I don't even like DH doing the cleaning.

Mrs, we're bright and freezing now too.

Emrys, I hope DS is better soon. Well done on cracking on with your cross stitch! And happy birthday! 🎂 🍾

My consultant said I'm cured and he doesn't want to see me for eight months Grin also told me I was too much of a perfectionist but I think people should try as hard as they can and should be putting pressure on themselves Grin

Wow, well done on all your hard work, Wreck.

Hope your DS is feeling better, Emrys. Enjoy your takeaway.

I have no issues with anyone else doing my cleaning! When DS was small, I had an independent cleaner who used to spend as much time cooing over DS as she did cleaning and when she retired I had a company in. Now we're all out of the house 5 days a week it doesn't get so dirty so we do it ourselves.

I'm with you, Crazy. My staff would include a cook as well, who does the meal planning. That's as much work as actually cooking!

Enjoy your shopping MrsM.

I've switched my fairy lights on in my office at work. I have my own office, so they're not inflicted on anyone else, but they seem to be cheering my colleagues up as they walk past. I also have a cinnamon scented diffuser, so my office is being referred to as the grotto Grin

EmrysAtticus · 13/11/2019 13:51

Well done wreck!!!

WreckTangled · 13/11/2019 13:51

Sorry, I'm not really cured I'm type one so have it for life but my levels are in the non diabetic range (well pre diabetic at the moment but I'm working on that Wink)

I am kinda back on board. I reviewed my HGP lists this morning and, while badly off track, there were more ticks than I anticipated being able to do marking things done. And I checked the local supermarket listings again today (I'd been on it on Monday) and the slots up to the end of December have been released. So while I didn't book much, I have booked the Thursday before Christmas for a regular weekly-type shop with some extra Christmas necessities, and will think about booking another couple of slots in December. And now that I have it, I can add loads in if I want, but I have reserved it with a better trolley than 10 whole chickens or 3 bottles of champagne Xmas Grin (someone had a moment on another thread this week getting 10 whole chickens delivered at 7am!!). I was on Amazon yesterday as well for something, so ordered better command hooks for my garland for the stairs, and saw that some lovely LED lights were on special so I added a couple of things from the wish list to make it worthwhile and ordered those as well.....Xmas Blush

Meanwhile the body is failing me - physio got me back up and going on Friday morning (yay!) but bad winds on a mountain top and little Cubs flying away (almost literally) meant the Leaders had to grab and hold a lot of them and there were a couple of falls (all onto grass, 1 the Cub was as big as the Leader and landed on the Leader(thus cushioning the Cub's landing!), the other where the Cub knocked the leader sideways and her foot went into a hole between rocks rather than solid grass...and my bad knee just buckled underneath me again, damn!). It had all been fine until we left the treeline, which was only about 20 metres below the summit, but a sudden downpour of rain and pick-up of winds combined against us. Cubs all fine though, and the wind blew away so many cobwebs, they were still wide awake and mobile at 3.30am!!

Which lack of sleep probably explains my spending on more decorations in a dept store while I waited for DD's script to be ready on my way home last night....

Tonight DH is away, so I am measuring up to see how I can make the table work for lots of dinner guests - I'm sure it will work!! (I was in Ikea en route to the airport last week, and picked up the extra glasses and a couple of extra folding chairs, for it!)..

I also had a couple of hours I needed to concentrate on writing up responses from stakeholders to something, so I put on Robeson Designs on YouTube on my pc - they do lots of Christmas decoration videos.
