Fluffy thank you for the recipe Smile we used to put our Santa letters up the chimney ahhh memories Smile

Chocolateteabag · 10/11/2019 23:34

He was brill - thought DH was going to wet himself at one point. He did a mix of standup and funny songs - but like Victoria Wood. He's got a fantastic voice. I could see him doing more musicals in the future

Chocolateteabag · 10/11/2019 23:35

Hmm"bit like" not but like

WreckTangled · 11/11/2019 07:09

Chocolate that sounds like a great night Smile

Mrs I used 'fathead dough' it's mozzarella, cream cheese, almond flour and an egg.

Another busy busy week at work. The good thing about being out of the office all day is that we get to pop into the shops nearby at lunch time. Or one day there's an amazing garden centre near where we're going I think that's next week though. Get to look at all the Christmas stuff.

Morning!

It's rather breezy here. It was raining most of the night, but thankfully stopped before I had to leave the house.

I squeezed a little cross stitch in this morning! I'm determined to get this one done ASAP.

I reckon I can finish this 1/6 bit by the end of Weds night.

Chocolate, I'm glad you had a good time; you deserve the mental break. Flowers

How big was the spider, Wreck?! At least the cat has some uses!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 11/11/2019 07:25

It was tiny. Like a money spider 😅

NoWordForFluffy · 11/11/2019 07:34

Ah. The cat still has no discernible use then!

CrazyBaubles · 11/11/2019 10:42

Lovely pic flouncy, makes me feel all warm and festive and kind of sad that we won't be putting up our proper tree this year

Lol at your cat Wreck
DDog1 ignores spiders altogether unless they literally crawl over her face and ddog2 eats them then sits in front of me for a treat 🙄

Glad you had a nice time chocolate

I've pretty much finished my Snowdog now. I've gone off pattern a little, I've folded the ends over and used some of the thread to stitch them down with a border and tried to embroider the words 'Merry Christmas' in the corner.
I like the border and figure it'll prevent the edges fraying and make it easier for me to sew it on to a cushion but the embroidery is rubbish so I may unpick it...

RoseToes · 11/11/2019 13:33

Afternoon all. We had a great weekend, it was BIL’s birthday so we went our for a meal and saw the whole of DH’s family which was lovely. Then we went to my DF’s for Sunday roast yesterday and went on a walk around the woods near him.

I hope you’re all doing okay, I will catch up from now onwards.

Mrsmadevans · 11/11/2019 14:53

Afternoon everyone Xmas Grin
Been busy , took Mum to the Dr's this morning, legs are not as good as they should be after 2 weeks of antibiotics. Fair dos to the Dr she doubled the dose of antibiotics and Mum is going for Bloods and Appt next Monday , she will also give me a prescription for Mum , to use for us over Christmas in case they flare up and we can't get to the Gp and end up in Acc/Em Hmm We don't want to spend Christmas in Nevill Hall hospital Hmm Xmas Grin
So got up early, cooked naice sausages with cracked black peppers in them, cabbage , mashed pots and carrots for tea, took Mum a lunch up too.
DD2 has decided to wait till after Christmas to look for a house now because the estate agents are just useless. They wouldn't wait 5 mins tonight for her to get to the place she was viewing. The estate agent said she had to be somewhere else by 5. My DD2 viewing was at 4.45pm Hmm it barely gave her time to get in the place let alone view it . It is all too rushed .
Chocolate glad you had a good evening it sounded brill Smile
Wreck , your gorgeous cat eating a tiny money spider and lying there like the defender of the faith Xmas Grin so funny, he's beautiful and conveniently goes with your decor and lovely lookalikey Orla Kiely chair, l love that chair Xmas Smile
Never heard of Fathead dough , that sounds delish though, nutty and cheesy and lovely texture l bet Smile enjoy the Christmas decs Xmas Smile
Fluffy it's a lovely day here again , sunny , blue skies , windy as hell and cold but exhilarating , l love weather like this Smile well done on the cross stitching you are galloping ahead Grin
Have picked up 2 pressies for Dd2 from WR , Prada Candy perfume and Nars foundation , not much change from £100 for those 2 , everything is so expensive Hmm, it is what she wants so have bitten the bullet . DH and l are not having any pressies again this year . We don't want or need anything so pointless buying for the sake of it Hmm Bah Humbug Xmas Grin
Crazy you are bloody good at this craft stuff missy , that cross stitch is excellent, you are even going 'off piste' and writing in cross stitch now! well done ! Xmas Grin
Rose glad you had a good weekend Smile
Am just watching the M& S ad it's rubbish , who the hell thought Emma & Paddy were a good idea . This is an M & S CHRISTMAS advert not any old advert , l am most disappointed [fangry}

I like the M&S Jumper Advert but there's no Christmas Jumpers , just standard winter ones (missed a trick there M&S)

The food one , meh though there's a woman in a leopard coat ( like the one I have from M&S ). I don;t care if DD says I look like Pat Butcher ( cheeky mare , I'm more Kat Slater Xmas Blush

I love making chocolate Brownies , the secret is to whisk the egg+sugar till pale and thick- that gives you the sugary crust . And leave them 24 hours to mature .

I like walnuts or pecans whereas everyone else is "Nooo"

Tiny chunks of Toblerone (like the dark Toblerone Tiny that don't get eaten) are nice .

I do a 50:50 with nuts on one side .

I am still in recovery , got some more appointments lined up (oh Joy) .

No shopping or a while Xmas Sad. Just lots of online browsing .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/11/2019 16:27

But the M&S Food and the M&S Jumper isn't THE Christmas Advert is it ?

I loved the Mrs Claus one from a couple of years ago.
And the ones from way back with Take That and the M&S models in a big house .

Mrsmadevans · 11/11/2019 16:33

Oh that is fab your new cooker is in Fanny , well done to DH too bless him! Smile
I know what a damn cheek giving us such an awful Ad!
Wth is wrong with ppl ?
DD2 is being very good, am so pleased and quite frankly amazed at her! Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 11/11/2019 16:35

We don’t have any terrestrial tv anymore- just on demand stuff; so I don’t think I’ll see any Christmas ads! The only one I’d like to see is John Lewis- has it been on her?

Mrsmadevans · 11/11/2019 16:51

I also pee/tea/phone/fridge/MN/FB Fanny during the ads but the Christmas ones l love to watch , we all look forward to them, l know sad or what Xmas Grin
Wonder what happened to the coat?

Mrsmadevans · 11/11/2019 16:52

No the JL hasn't to my knowledge Sue

I just lobbed all the brownie ingredients into the KitchenAid and let it do its thing! I'm not much into technique! 😂😂

We ❤️❤️❤️ the M&S jumper advert (but they House of Pain track is from our youth, so we feel like target market!). And the jumpers don't need to be Christmas ones...they've gone for the Scandi / Sarah Lund type which is very popular. I predict good jumper sales this year!

Mrs, that's a busy old day. I hope your mum is better soon.

I don't watch ads much. Too busy cross stitching without my glasses so I'm blindand MN-ing!

Flouncy, sounds like you and the cooker tested your DH's patience. Xmas Grin

Chocolateteabag · 11/11/2019 17:40

70 - good to hear you are feeling a little better. I liked the Mrs Claus advert. I havn't seen the M&S food one yet, but I like the jumper one, especially as the main jumper is a reasonably priced one. That said, trying not to go crazy buying new stuff at the moment so really shouldn't be watching them!

crazy - I love your embroidery snow dog! Looking forward to seeing the final cushion!

flouncy - hope the new cooker smell burns off quickly. Maybe some lemon juice/water in a big dish on low for a bit?
Sue - I go on YouTube to watch the ads tbh, I mostly download stuff to watch as there is always something else on when my stuff is on

I have done a practise run at a zipped pouch tonight just to check I understand the recipe! Will post a pic later if I can wrestle my phone back off DS2!

Chocolateteabag · 11/11/2019 17:43

With a cotton reel next to it for size

It's very boring basic blue (bit of a trouser leg of DS2's ripped/small trousers) with some cotton lawn from the fabric stash I have horded from DGM's house
