My kids are being a pain too! Ds has football later which dh will take him to. I'm almost finished folding the mountain of washing but still have more to put on 😭

EmrysAtticus · 10/11/2019 10:05

Morning, lovely sunny day here :) Spent the last two hours weeding the front garden and it is looking much better.

NerosFiddle · 10/11/2019 10:06

Morning all. We live near mountains so we usually see snow first. It's gone up a few degrees today (although still only 1 degree).

Food network have their Novembermas (sp?) programmes on so I'm engrossed, even though I rarely actually make anything.

CrazyBaubles · 10/11/2019 10:48

Neros I'm jealous of your snow!
I also recorded 2 Jamie Oliver Christmas specials on the food network last week which I haven't watched yet.
I don't do any Christmas cooking (that's DHs domain) and this year we're away but watching them is a tradition every year and makes me feel Christmassy.

I went out last night for a drink and catch up with 2 friends I haven't seen in ages. It was good and I have no hangover!

DH is at nephews rugby match and I'm just about to start cooking. I'm doing a roast for today, soup and a tomato pasta sauce for the week. I'm joining a Slimming world class tomorrow so trying to cook ahead of time (DH will also batch cook a curry this evening).

NerosFiddle · 10/11/2019 11:58

This is my Christmas village.

You've got double up from Weds this week, flouncy, so use those to get pans!

I'm glad you're feeling better today. I was wondering where you were. Flowers

Lovely village Neros

Ooh please post pics of your lights flouncy. DH would have a heart attack if I suggested decs or lights this early 🙄

Treat yourself to new pans. A year or so ago I got the Sainsbury's copper bottom saucepan set
https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/all-fathers-day-gifts/sainsburys-col-3pc-brushed-copper-bottom-pan-set]
(they are £76 but they were on sale). Have since bought the giant stock pot and frying pan to match. As sad as it sounds, I love them 😍

I've also used my Sainsbury's cast iron oven dish today for my pasta sauce - I love the kitchen stuff in there Blush

Roast was lovely. I'm too full to move now though so I'm putting the finishing stitches to my Snowdog

I've done some baking today.

First mince pies of the year for freezing, brownies for freezing, and the chilli jam we didn't get to last week. It's been a non-stop round of washing up and surface-wiping this afternoon. Xmas Grin

Lovely village Nero

I like your pans Crazy. I've got some Le Creuset stainless steel saucepans that were a Christmas present from DH 13 years ago (it was my idea!) and loved them so much I got the lidded frying pan and the double boiler. They just wash and come up brilliant every time.

Productive day Fluffy. I need to make some chilli jam soon and we are slowly working through the contents of the freezers enough for stashing some festive baking. Another week or two should do it. Yule log first and then some mince pies I think.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/11/2019 18:17

Yes, we're chipping away at the courgettes, so freeing space up! Hence finally being able to bake.

I won't do too many more mince pies I wouldn't think, as my in-laws go away on Christmas Eve so there won't be as many of us here to eat them.

Probably one more batch to freeze then another batch on Christmas Eve itself.

I'll do more brownies at some point too. These ones are amazing!

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/11/2019 18:21

Would you mind sharing the recipe for the brownies please?

I watched a channel 5 Christmas film earlier which was ok. Ds' team won football 8-2.

I also made low carb mini pizzas for my lunches next week.

The cat just ate a spider and is now resting
