@nowordforfluffy ooh hiiiiii!! (Waves) We’re in Cheshire so not on the coast.

sueH1983 · 09/11/2019 11:02

Christmas present inventory time for me! I need to get everything out of my wardrobe and make a note of what I’ve bought so far.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/11/2019 11:12

I just went into a Rightmove rabbit hole ....... in our area and the nearest large town (on the CrossRail) there are 2-3 bed flats/maisonettes ranging from 245 upwards ( and the 245 are not the desirable areas) mainly 350 +

My DS ( nearly 20) lives at home for University , ( no signs of moving out till he's qualified Xmas Grin ) . I've already told him he's best to look up North for property .

NoWordForFluffy · 09/11/2019 11:31

Ooh, flouncy is round your way, Sue!

MrsMad We're also househunting and the market has slowed right down ready for Christmas I think.
Wreck & 70 house prices where you are is a bit nuts. £250k here would get you a decent sized 3 bed semi or a small detached and £350 buys a 4 bed detached.

It's so cold today. We've been to Cwmbran (Christmas stuff everywhere), then home for some lunch. Now DH is watching the local rugby team play (he must be freezing) and I'm home desperately trying to finish my Snowdog.

I'm definitely going to turn it into a cushion and make a different, crochet fronted cushion for my other friend so I bought Christmas fabric today. The blue is for the the snow dog. I haven't decided on exactly what I'm going to do for the other other one.
Aren't they lovely?

You can get an ex-council 3 bed semi for about £135k here (it'll need modernisation)! But you can also spend £250k on a much bigger 3 bed semi.

There is scope for choice though.

You all just move so fast!

Mrs how has the house hunt gone? Apologies if you have already posted about it.

Today we are celebrating my birthday (it's on Wednesday but I will be in work). We booked the zoo weeks ago so despite the weather we still went and thankfully it had a lot of indoor areas and then it dried up this afternoon. Now home to warm up, Strictly, Bailey's hot chocolate and my cross stitch.

WreckTangled · 09/11/2019 16:17

Pleased you enjoyed your day Emrys

My dad came second in the race. We came home had lunch and watched the nutcracker which was good.

Dh has just got back from work and is going to help me with dinner because I'm so over cooking at the moment I just can't be bothered!

RoseToes · 09/11/2019 16:39

How did the house hunting go mrs?

NerosFiddle · 09/11/2019 16:49

Evening all. I went to the range today and bought a wee Christmas village. I've had my eye on it for a few years and made the jump today.

Mrs the 3rd house is the best of them but tbh, if they're not showing pictures of the upstairs or outside, I ask questions.

Off to make dinner now then I'll get a glass of something with strictly.

Mrsmadevans · 09/11/2019 18:05

Evening everyone 🤗
Am knackered 😁
Have been very productive though 🤗
It's official Splott is a complete no no. We sat for half an hour outside the house and ppl watched. It was a massive culture shock. Very run down . Men spitting In the street seemed to be de rigeur 🙄🤮
A car pulled up and a woman got out and went to collect a parcel box from the local Nisa. The next thing we know the complete parcel wrappings were thrown out of the car window before driving off. We were fixated l can tell you . There was a lot of litter , no car parking , DH was too afraid to leave the car so Dd2 and l went to see it . Nice house needs an awful lot of work doing to it though.
Llandaff is out as well , the house was in the process of being decorated and it was really damp there. The windows were all full of damp and condensation. The area was very nice though, we really liked it there, such a difference to Splott.
Crazy gorgeous fabric ♥️
Good luck in the house hunting m'dear 😊🍀
Em glad yout had a fab day, your evening sounds brilliant too 🤗😁
House hunting as above 🙄😄🤪
Wreck well done to your Dad m'dear 👏 🏆🎖️🏅🥇
Rose see above m'dear not good but very informative 😊
Nero, your little village sounds beautiful ❤️
houses were terrible 🤪😁

TheWoollybacksWife · 09/11/2019 19:44

Evening all.

Wreck I totally get you with not feeling like cooking. I usually do slow cooker chilli on a Saturday so it was all sorted this morning but I seriously couldn't be arsed doing rice/spuds this evening. After I took DD2 to work I nipped to Morrison's and seriously couldn't summon the energy to get out of the car.

Neros the Range have beautiful Christmas villages. Have you got a photo?

DH and DS have been watching the footy from Leicester and it was sleeting. That's only 20 or so miles away 🌨. It was blooming freezing when I took DD2 to work this afternoon.

MrsMad keep on looking. Luckily your DD seems to value input from you and your DH. I'm hoping DD1 will do the same when she starts her house hunting. She's going to an overseas job fair next week so might not be looking to buy a house just yet.

RoseToes · 09/11/2019 19:59

mrs sorry it didn’t go so well. But your DD’s a credit to you for being so mature about it and taking her time to make sure it’s perfect for her.

Mrsmadevans · 09/11/2019 20:18

Woolly thank you m'dear that is lovely of you to say that Smile
l am sure your DD will be the same Smile
It's very cold here tonight. l am frozen, my feet are like blocks of ice BRRRR
Nero have been looking at the decs online Smile they are lovely was it this one , it's my fave Smile

Mrsmadevans · 09/11/2019 20:20

Thank you Rose l hope she will keep listening Smile
I have suggested she rents a 1 bed flat for 6 months to see how she likes it . She is thinking about it Smile No rush .

NerosFiddle · 09/11/2019 20:20

Mrs as the saying goes buy in haste, repent at leisure. So it's good that your dd has her head screwed on.
When they don't show a full range of pictures there's always something they're hiding.

Woolly I don't have a picture because it's still in the boot. It has a train and DS wanted to play with it so we have to keep it out of the way for a while. When the decks go up I'll take a pic.

It's snowing here and it's absolutely freezing.

WreckTangled · 09/11/2019 20:23

Ooo snow! How exciting!

Woolly I usually have saturdays reserved as a freezer food night because for some reason I feel like Saturday should be my day off!

NerosFiddle · 09/11/2019 20:23

Mrs I didn't see that but it's beautiful. I wanted a lot more pieces but alas.

Mrsmadevans · 09/11/2019 20:27

Nero , thank you m'dear , told DD2 that there was no way we were going to rush into it, she realised that , l think since we have been to see properties with her she realises how bad the market is Grin

Mrsmadevans · 09/11/2019 20:31

Nero that is lovely you have snow Xmas Grin
I keep thinking about the saying, Caveat Emptor !

NoWordForFluffy · 09/11/2019 21:15

Snow? In November?! Bloody hell. Rather you than me!

I'm now half way through the cross stitch. Getting there!

Woolly, we had sleet forecast, but it didn't come to anything, thankfully.

That's lovely Fluffy how the hell you are able to do that with no pattern printed on the canvas l do not know ! Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 09/11/2019 23:04

It's just counting sometimes getting it wrong and having to unpick it from section to section. It means jumping from colour to colour on this so I don't have to count too far and go wrong as it's easier to do things which are next to / very close to each other.

Morning! It's a teeny bit warmer today, thankfully. Not warm, just warmER!

We're meant to be going to the squirrel woods today, but the kids are being a pain, so I've no idea what's going on now!

Maybe Santa letters will happen instead.
