Morning! It's 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶 today. I've just hung some washing out and couldn't feel my hands afterwards! At least it's dry.

I hope everyone has a better day today. Onwards and upwards!

Hurrah for Friday. 😁

Hurrah for Friday!

I'm going on a girly weekend to London in a couple of weeks with my mum and sister, and I've just booked the hotel.

I'm getting really excited - we've never been shopping in London before. So far, we only have 2 destinations - Oxford Street Primark and the M&M shop. Any other suggestions for shops we shouldn't miss? Grin

WreckTangled · 08/11/2019 07:00

It's really frosty this morning!

Ooo I love london! Hate the m&m shop but the dc love it Grin there's two primarks on oxford street, the one with the big Harry Potter department is the Tottenham Court Road one. I prefer this one as it's not quite so big. The massive one is right down the other end nearer Hyde Park Corner.

I love Covent Garden there's also nice shops between there and Leicester Square. You can go on normal buses to see the Christmas lights if you google there are pages that tell you which routes to take to see the best ones.

Leicester Square has its own little Christmas market now which is ok. I prefer southbank though. It's really nice to walk along at Christmas all the way from the eye to Blackfriars bridge.

Morning everyone from freezing Edinburgh!
Fingers crossed for a good day all round, Wreck - looks like you managed to get a year or two's worth of bad luck out of the way in one day! The floods do look awful!

Visited DSIS yesterday - what a change! She still has some physical effects from her brain bleed last month but she is back to being herself and her memory is pretty much back. She is also very sanguine about her DX and determined to have hope and be positive. I feel very humbled how strong she is compared to me!

Means I've decided to bring the DS's up here in Dec and have some festive fun - they are setting up the Christmas fair in the centre and all the decorations are going up. Going to have a little shop this morning before visiting hours and then home this evening in the train
Will catch up with you all later on

Chocolateteabag · 08/11/2019 07:09

Firefly - my friend goes to Liberty each year to see the decorations - no idea where it is in relation to where you will be though (London brain boggles me)

WreckTangled · 08/11/2019 07:19

I want to go to Edinburgh.

This was the flood yesterday

Hamleys down Regent St, because it's Christmas.

I'd go up to Marble Arch to the flagship M&S too. And there used to be a John Lewis round there too. There's loads of nice shops up that way!

That's a bit damp, Wreck! Have you seen the photos of Sheffield?!

I prefer Glasgow to Edinburgh. To me it has a nicer (more relaxed) vibe.

Good news about your sister, Chocolate. Do you feel a bit better about it all now?

WreckTangled · 08/11/2019 07:32

No I haven't I heard it on the radio though. It must be so awful.

I have a friend coming round this morning for coffee and a rant. We don't get to see each other very often so I'm looking forward to it.

Mrsmadevans · 08/11/2019 08:03

FireflyGirl · 08/11/2019 08:25

Ooh, thanks everyone. I'll update the itinerary! Xmas Grin

DSMIL and TOM came to visit last night, from Sheffield. They were saying it was raining, but not too bad. Then on the way home they were diverted as the road was closed for flooding...

Mrsmadevans · 08/11/2019 09:03

Firefly girl you are going to have a great time 😄
Unusually we haven't any flooring here , it makes a change. Awful for Yorkshire though bless them ☹️

FireflyGirl · 08/11/2019 10:35

Took me a minute to realise you meant 'flooding'. 🤦 I was wondering why you were so calm about having no flooring!!

Is it 5-o-clock yet?? Wine

Mrsmadevans · 08/11/2019 12:02

Hehe flooring😁
Nearly lunchtime Firefly girl 😋😋😋

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/11/2019 13:24

Goodness Wreck Shock that's scary.

I have ordered my turkey this morning and bought DS a game. That only leaves the Black Friday stuff plus the last minute supermarket bits (magazines and coffee syrups) to buy. I won't wrap until after I put the tree up apart from a couple of presents that I'm taking with me when I go up and stay with my sister for my visit to mum and dad's grave later this month.

WreckTangled · 08/11/2019 15:48

Dd just spotted a Robin in our garden Smile

Chocolateteabag · 08/11/2019 17:01

On the train home now
DSIS is doing amazingly well - still got more recovering to do but I'm Grintoday!
Hope everyone has had a good day?

Looking forward to a G&T when I get in

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/11/2019 17:18

chocolate that is lovely news about your sister.

Enjoy your G&T.

It was blooming freezing when I nipped out earlier. Sleet forecast for tomorrow 🌨

RoseToes · 08/11/2019 17:52

I’m so glad your sisters doing well chocolate, it must be lovely for you and your family to have some good news❤️

CrazyBaubles · 08/11/2019 19:05

chocolate did you enjoy your shopping? There's a lovely Christmas shop in Edinburgh city centre, I bought a decoration in Feb a few years ago and DH was Hmm even though he's used to me by now.

Glad your dsis is doing much better.

Wreck Shock at the floods!
MIL lives about an hour outside of York and while they're not flooded she did send me a pic of her up to the very top of her wellies in sloppy mud and said they've had so much rain the horses have had to be kept on the yard away from the bog.

MrsMad we had wifi issues but we get them a lot here so I didn't think anything of it.
Pain is ongoing tbh. I'm home with a hot water bottle right now which is helping.

Firefly London is the only city that really overwhelms me so I am no help sorry.

I had to spend the day I'm Swansea today for work. It was beautiful but freezing. Sadly didn't get to enjoy it much as it was quite an intense work day (feeding back to dept heads and asking for changes while they argued every single point 🙄)
Home alone this evening so housework and dogs are done, I have tv on and am continuing with my snowdog. He's almost complete - does this look correct to you Fluffy?

WreckTangled · 08/11/2019 19:09

Chocolate such good news!

We're nowhere near the flooding in the rest of the country. I'm in the south but it always floods in the bit in the photo. Dh didn't want me to drive through it but I did. Three times. Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 08/11/2019 19:11

It looks great, Crazy! Is it one with lots of blue to do for sky?! I love how they fit into the little hoop and you don't have to move it. My larger ones drive me slightly insane with their flapping about.

This is how mine stands right now. Might finish the 3rd page (of 6!) tonight!

I'll be on my Snowman ones after this!
