Sorry about your DD Woolly - the best drivers past second time so I'm told I'm awful and I fluked passing first time

Managed to catch earlier train so I'm hoping there is still some cake when I get home
Meeting today was awful - I'm the only "laydee" in the room and somehow I get to take the notes - more fool them when they realise my total lack of scientific knowledge (I'm the bean counter for a scientific co)

WreckTangled · 06/11/2019 16:03

Sorry for your dd woolly I also didn't pass first time Blush

RoseToes · 06/11/2019 16:10

Evening everyone, the weathers crap here. It’s freezing and cloudy, there should be rain later tonight.

chocolate ahh that’s lovely that you got to see DS on his birthday.

Ahh bless her wooly, it took me 2 times to pass mine. I don’t believe it’s any reflection on how you drive, your nerves are so high on your test that you can easily mess up.

School trips aren’t that expensive here, but so far ours have only been trips to farms or stately homes. There’s a residential in year 6 that will be expensive, but it’s high schools that will cost the most.

We’re going to DM’s when DH gets back, so I don’t have to worry about tea tonight. DS2 is feeling better, I’ve been giving him water all the time to help flush him out.

It definitely feels more like Christmas now that bonfire night is out the way. Has everyone noticed how many Christmas adverts there have been?!

Mrsmadevans · 06/11/2019 16:12

Fanny l didn't buy it because it was £8.95 a ball for 400g admittedly but it seemed like a lot to me. I am browsing ebay as we speak Smile

Mrsmadevans · 06/11/2019 16:17

MrsMad I use woolwarehouse for my online wool shopping. They are good - prices are reasonable and delivery is fast but it's only free if you spend £25 so for small amounts I usually just go to my local wool shop and pay more per ball.

Thank you all for your commiserations for DD2. She's got a date for next month and is watching for cancellations.

sueH1983 · 06/11/2019 16:42

I love looking at cross stitch but don’t have the patience for it. Done this, this week though:

This week’s big projects are finishing the boy’s things to get me lists and finish painting their bed so they can move into their new room. I know it’s only the start of November but I am already feeling a bit stressed! I did get my Christmas shifts today though and I am definitely off for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, hooray!!

Our school does residential in year five and year six so we have two years of. Perhaps that's why it's a cheap one? About £150.

WreckTangled · 06/11/2019 17:43

Oh I will have to look in tk maxx when I'm next nearby

NoWordForFluffy · 06/11/2019 17:43

Oh no, Woolly. Onwards and upwards for her. At least she's re-booked.

My mum and my sister both took 6 tests each I passed first time so most people get there in the end!

I've been getting my cross stitches from Love Crafts. They're a lovely company.

Wreck, my primary had residentials in the 3rd and 4th year juniors too. I'm not sure what the kids' school does.

Crazy, it's funny how cross stitch looks so much different from afar / in a photo!

There's no heating on my train home. 🥶

I've got to go and do the food shop on my way home. Joy!

I had more lessons than that (21), but didn't really go out with my parents like some did. But, it's not a race (though I was insanely jealous of the September borns who passed before I turned 17!).

No worries. I hope that it all worked ok!
