The Snowdog cross stitches are too cute!

I've had some pink fizz. And DH made me a pumpkin spice cake with one of our homegrown pumpkins. ❤️❤️

Mrs, such good news re your DH!

Chocolate, Flowers to you and your sister. I'm out of the house before the kids wake too. I've not had to do it on a birthday yet though. Flowers to you for that too.

I've been cross stitching tonight. I'm on the 3rd sheet of pattern out of 6. Getting there!

DD up and ready. Thank you for all her good wishes. I'll keep you posted.

Morning! Chilly start today and a bit murky. It quite often is after loads of fireworks though!

Flouncy, yep, the neighbours had some corkers. Poor DS was obviously disturbed by then as he had shifted to the bottom of his bed (furthest from the window!) to get away from the noise when DH checked on him before we went to bed!

Mrs, it's actually quite quick to do, though I do end up changing colours a bit, rather than do all of the same-coloured bits together, just so I don't end up counting wrong!

I think I'll have this done in a couple more weeks, then each Snowman should take no more than a week. Then onto another one, which will likely be my last before Christmas!

Oh yes, good luck to your DD, Woolly. I meant to say last night.

What time is her test? I did mine at 8.40 which was a bit busy!

FireflyGirl · 06/11/2019 07:12

Good luck Woolly DD

And happy birthday ChocolateDS

I've always found the day after bonfire night to be misty. DS has no interest in fireworks at all, but he sleeps through them so I can't complain.

I just switched the lights off and watched them through the window Grin

I'm very impressed with your productive day yesterday, MrsM. And glad to hear your DH got good results Flowers

Brrr it's cold this morning! Rushed out of the house to catch the early train and forgot my gloves! Did manage to see DS1 briefly for a birthday hug

Good luck woolly DD!

It is a crispy but sunny morning from the train - would take a picture but don't think I'd quite capture it through the murky window
Glad to hear you had a good birthday fluffy - pumpkin spice cake sounds good! I have bought DS's cake as no time for my cack handed baking!

WreckTangled · 06/11/2019 07:33

Morning. Bright and sunny here. Ds has a school trip. I have three schools to go to. Saw over 100 children yesterday. November is always so busy 🥱

Another email from school asking for money that's £80 this month and I know there's a theatre trip next month so they'll be asking for more money for that. Probably another £15 each child. Ffs.

NoWordForFluffy · 06/11/2019 07:55

No pink here, flouncy!

Wreck, that's a lot of money. Bonkers.

Chocolate, happy birthday to your DS.

Morning everyone 😀
Bonfire night been and gone, now to get down to sorting Christmas 🤗
Woolly l have everything crossed for your Dd 🤗 🙏💪🍀🤞
Fluffy l can't cross stitch to save my life so l think your work is brilliant 👌🤗
I know I couldn't do it, l find 2 hrs once a month on my inherited tapestry from my MIL enough. Perhaps that is the problem it's too long at one time and l need to pick it up more often hmmm worth thinking about.

Mrsmadevans · 06/11/2019 08:49

Happy birthday 🎉🎂🎈 to your Ds Chocolate that's so lovely for you and your Ds that you saw him before work, it's those stolen moments that mean so much ♥️
Firefly girl, thank you re DH l an so relieved l can tell you . I don't know what l would do without him, he is so good and kind to everyone bless him. Don't get me wrong he isn't perfect but he's just you know 🤗
Fanny it seems we are a bit gullible in the estate agents world , thank you for your sensible words. We need to take a bit if time. We are going with her to see several houses on Saturday. Some of them are deemed to be in rough areas according to the DD work mates but l am looking at the bigger picture and thinking there are rough areas everywhere. The one house is next to a police station and a church and an old ppls complex so we shall see 🤗
Wreck that is just awful , so much money for the school trips😬 coming up to Christmas too ahh bless you it's tough bringing up our DC in these times. Everything was different when l was little there were trips but they were really inexpensive or so they seemed at the time. Bristol zoo and Barry island 😄 we took packed lunches and on the way back the school head bought us all chips from out of his own pocket. He was an absolute darling. I loved him, all the kids did he had such a good heart.
Oh God l am off reminiscing now🤗
Better shift going to look for wool for Mum 😄
Have a lovely day everyone 😀

Flouncy, google AO discount code. There's a few about. Or sign up to Quidco / TopCashback and get your discount via cash back instead. I can send you referral links if you need them!

I'm so sorry, I realised this morning I missed a whole page yesterday!

chocolate I'll keep my fingers crossed for your sister Thanks and what amazing progress she's making!

MrsMad so glad about MrMads dr app.
I think my school trips were similar to yours (without the chips) - we definitely did Bristol Zoo. Also Oakwood, Congress Theatre and Big Pit.

Pumpkin spiced cake sounds amazing Fluffy

Good Luck woollysdd

Thank you flouncy. I feel like I'm not getting anywhere then when I sit back and look at it, it's coming along nicely if I do say so myself
What a nightmare about the cooker! I would try cashback sites. We started them a year ago, we do utilities / insurance and shopping through them and have saved / made a fair bit.

Wreck school sounds bloody expensive these days!

The pub next to where we're staying for Christmas finally got back to me yesterday so we're booking in for Christmas lunch. 4 courses for £40pp too which is amazing (our local pub is £60 for 3 courses). So that's one thing off my list at least

EmrysAtticus · 06/11/2019 11:50

The school I work in still does a trip to Bristol Zoo :)

TheWoollybacksWife · 06/11/2019 13:13

Unfortunately not good news from DD2 but she came in and had a bit of a sob and has now rebooked her test.

Both DDs have had school trips to Big Pit as part of a residential to Brecon. (We are in the East Midlands).

In my experience the constant demands for money dropped off once they were in seniors. Apart from the initial Year 7 residential trip there only seemed to be the odd pound a couple of times a year for mufti day. In primary school it seemed like there were 2 or 3 mufti days per term, a class trip, a school disco at the end of every term, some sort of history themed dress up event every year plus Children in Need, Christmas jumper day and World Book Day costumes. Not to mention the Christmas and summer fetes, the fund raising Christmas cards and the annual book fair.

Ahhh Woolly bless her heart .🤗 l am so sorry m'dear. Tell her to keep going my Dd1 it took her 3 or 4 times l can't remember now how many. There's something about driving tests that puts the fear of God into us . Tell her about my DD1 it's not a race she will do it just seems wasn't her time today 💐

NerosFiddle · 06/11/2019 14:30

Ah no Woolly. It took me 3 times to pass it. Nerves just got to me on the day.

Off to take DS to the hospital now for an eye appointment. Then I might bring down my countdown decorations.

Mrsmadevans · 06/11/2019 14:31

I can remember the bloody school trips abroad, they were a terrible price lthink it was £700 to go skiing 10 yrs ago. Mine never went they were not interested in going , suppose we would have paid if they had but it was a lot in of money then , God knows what it is now 🙄 and all the bloody equipment 😄

Mrsmadevans · 06/11/2019 14:32

Nero hope Ds is ok m'dear 🤗

Flouncy - AO and Boots are the same company so if you can't get an offer with AO try Boots - you'll at least get advantage card points (assuming you have one?) also go via topcashback?
