Crazy your DParents sound lovely Smile
I used to be the same as them trying to give my DDS a better upbringing than l had, l used to have to clean the house all the time. l was like a servant , l am not kidding, consequently my DDS do not strike a blow Xmas Grin it has backfired on me now though Xmas Grin. They can't see if anything needs doing they are so laid back , some would say lazy Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 05/11/2019 16:15

Firefly girl have missed you m'dear glad you are back online Smile
Weather seems dry tonight but bitterly cold, they do a huge bonfire night show here so they will be able to hold it ok thankfully Smile
Have a great bonfire night everyone Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 05/11/2019 16:19

Fanny our cats were awful with their food , l wasted so much bloody money on getting them different flavours that they would eat for a little time then go off and the hedgies would have to have them Grin
I wouldn't mind but every cat we have had was a stray that turned up at the door and we adopted and you would have thought they'd be grateful and eat anything we put them Xmas Grin
Nope they had us by the short and curlies Grin

Fanny ahhh thank you that is so kind Flowers
Yes l think she is right , she is going to see a mortgage person tomorrow
so at least we can get the ball rolling and get that sorted ready for when she wants to buy the one! The couple are splitting up and obvs want to sell asap , they have a couple who are willing and able to proceed so good luck to them Smile

NerosFiddle · 05/11/2019 17:21

Fanny I don't like my name either. I don't know why I don't like it, maybe it's just a bit dated and boring. It was popular in 70/80s and there's famous people called it but I've never liked it.

Mrs if you want any help dealing with estate agents feel free to PM me. There probably won't be many properties coming up at this time of the year though. It'll be ones looking for a quick sale due to the time of year. This obviously can work to your advantage.

Mrsmadevans · 05/11/2019 17:27

Oh Nero that is so kind of you thank you so much Flowers I may have to take you up on it l am afraid Smile
DD2 loved the new build flat but they were very flaky about the service charges and how much they would be controlled . I don't suppose you know any way l can find out for definite the charges they can demand? No worries if not Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 05/11/2019 17:28

Mrs, I'm gutted I didn't know about the Asda selection box before now. I've already got the Moo Free ones! Next year!

Your DD is at least now being sensible. Good girl!

Thank you again for the birthday wishes. I've had an OK day at work, which is something. 😁

You got quite the haul in Sainsbury's, flouncy, well done!

Crazy, no real celebrating. Though if I know DH there may be some fizz at home!

Aw bless you Fluffy that is a bgr! N'eer mind the Moo free is supposed to be the nicer of them all by far Smile, have the most brilliant night you deserve it Flowers
Yay to DD2 being less impulsive Grin

Mrsmadevans · 05/11/2019 18:35

Ohhh have some very good news , DH just back from the GP for his blood results and he has passed with flying colours. His HBAC1 was fine and his thyroid, his cholesterol was 4.1 and good far outweighed the bad , urea & electrolytes fine, so he just has this damn Afib to contend with , good news on that front too he hasn't had an attack for a week YAY!
He is tucking into Shepherd's pie and is loving it Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/11/2019 18:55

Brilliant news MrsMad. Well done MadDH

Thank you for the info about Aldi chocolate coins. I'll nip in tomorrow and get some. I need to take a pillow back to Laura Ashley (Aldi is on the same trading estate) BUT only if TKMaxx still have the one I found there after I bought the LA one.

DD2 has her driving test tomorrow 😬 so regardless of outcome I have promised her a takeaway for dinner. Hopefully it will be a celebration meal. She's worked very hard and has been very diligent.

Fab news Mrs and I think the house looks lovely. Monochrome isn't to my taste but it may be to your DD and if not is easily changed :)

Happy birthday fluffy Cake

I like my name, it was popular in Wales in the 80s but that doesn't bother me. DS' name is about 400th or something but is a name everyone knows.

Both DH and I double barrelled but we are lucky our names go well together. We also love that we are the only three people in the world with our surname :)

Couple more presents arrived yesterday and expecting some more tomorrow. Really need to crack on with doing some of the food prep and freezing!

WreckTangled · 05/11/2019 19:04

Mrs that's great news.

Woolly good luck to your dd.

Chocolateteabag · 05/11/2019 20:07

Happy Birthday Fluffy hope you've got Wine in hand by now (or Cake at least)
It's DS1's birthday tomorrow but I'm going to be out before he wakes up, have at least remembered to get cake bars for him to take into his class tomorrow and bigger cake for later crap baker

So I'm hopefully back on these threads a bit more now, after a bit of a downer weekend. DSIS is hopefully eligible for a drug which should delay her cancer progress and give her a couple of years at least please god and she has managed to walk today with a frame - need to find some toughnut type presents!

So Christmas mojo is back on. I'm on with zip bag making as soon as I've got tomorrow out of the way. I also want to get a pre-lit start ordered. I like this big star one but at £40 its a bit £££ for me.

Mrsmadevans · 05/11/2019 20:13

Woolly the very best of luck to your DD Smile it's so nerve wracking for them Flowers
Fanny thank you and Dh Flowers they did an ECG last Thursday , all fine. I think he could do with a cardiac ultrasound too . l bet the A level biol came in handy Grin !
Thank you Em , l can't help wondering what your name is now Grin
Wreck thank you m'dear l am very relieved to say the least Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 05/11/2019 20:16

Chocolate that is horrible not being there when Ds wakes up on his birthday l do feel for you . l hope they do everything they can to make your Dsis as well as possible and feel cared for & loved Flowers

NerosFiddle · 05/11/2019 20:59

Mrs I am serious about messaging me. I know the way some estate agents work. The oldest trick was always phoning you up after a viewing and saying someone else was interested and putting in an offer. 90% of the time this was bs.

Woolly best of luck to your dd.

I've fallen down a YouTube black hole watching old Carols from Kings.

Mrsmadevans · 05/11/2019 21:10

Nero thank you so much Flowers
In fact that is what happened today ! I don't now if it was the truth or not Hmm
I love Carols from Kings it is my must see on Christmas eve l just love it Smile

RoseToes · 05/11/2019 21:38

Brill news for your DH mrs, I’m sorry your DD didn’t get the house but she’s being very sensible about it.

wooly good luck to your DD!

chocolate I hope that the treatment works for your DSis, it sounds promising though. A bit happy birthday to your DS for tomorrow!.

DH just got back from a firework display with the DC. Ddog didn’t cope very well bless his soul. Hopefully next year I’m more prepared as I hate seeing him the way he is. I had a trip up the walk in centre today with DS2, he has a water infection and is quite poorly with it, which is why he hasn’t been well. I feel awful. But he’s doing much better now.

CrazyBaubles · 05/11/2019 22:09

We're just about to head to bed, I'm exhausted as I'm not sleeping very well.

DDog1 is deaf but never cared about fireworks anyway. Ddog 2 hates them though, he’s been on my lap for most of the evening.

I’ve done lots of housework and made plans to go back to a slimming world class next week with my friend.
Also worked on the cross stitch. I’m enjoying it but it’s very slow going for me (I’ve attached a pic).

I hope you had a lovely glass (or 3) of fizz Fluffy

Night all!
