The Beano shop have a sale on at the moment, not loads in it but there are Dennis/Gnasher/Minnie Minx themed ukeleles down to £15.99 and you can then also get an extra 10% off using code SAVE10 which could make fun presents!

@CatLadyInTraining if you have a Poundland nearby, keep a watching eye on their cosmetics. In little bags...

They don’t have everything all of the time but if you’re able to pop in a few times over the course of a couple of months you should be able to get a sizeable haul of nice stuff all at a pound each and often 2 or 3 for a pound.

I’ve had burt’s bees and maybelline tinted lip balms, revlon chubby sticks and other bits, L’Oréal eyeliner and eyeshadow, nails inc, sally Hansen, revlon, and many more nail polishes (often 2 to a pack) and loads more. They also have stuff from the cheaper ranges like outdoor girl and MUA albeit still a pound for an item or two.

If you could pad it out with a few other bargains that come in multipacks that you could break down like hair clips etc (or even normal pens and rubbers and non beauty bits) and add in shower gel or deodorant etc that you’d be getting for her anyway and you’d get a decent advent calendar’s worth of nice stuff for a bargain.

Tiny doll food for Sylvanian Families arrived today as well! Another stocking filler sorted. Rather taken with the tiny Dr Pepper cans...

For RoI shoppers: tesco have original edition Exploding Kittens for €6.13, and Mine It Gold/ Diamond for €1.63. Both priced much higher on the shelf Hmm. The mine it things are a block of plaster with a 1 on 24 chance of containing real gold/ diamond. My gullible gambler children will love them.

I also picked up smiggle pencil cases (the push button pop out kind) for €7 in the sale section. I always try and put branded stationery in the homeless kids shoeboxes as this kind of thing separates the haves from the have nots. although my little haves don’t get smiggle pencil cases so I’ll have to hide them well Grin

Really really happy with our surprise bag, we got a vest, sleep suit, two tops, and a hooded towel. All in very cute prints but I ordered way ahead for DD, so I’ve just been back on, bought another one in the next size down and spent €160 in the pop up sale on other bits for now 🙈not so bargain friendly but cute as hell. I may as well just hand them my credit card and get them to shop for me 😂

I'm looking for a potato based present for a friend obsessed with shoehorning potatoes into as many meals as possible.

Not a t shirt but something fun like this picture from a shirt or link to another theme badge

No specific link or shop, but worth checking out garden centres at this time of year. Lots of gardening/BBQ things on sale. (Just seems my local one advertising on Facebook)

NoGravyForYou · 11/10/2019 12:32

@Becles have you heard of spuddies? They're a potato teddy that has a holder for your remote and drink, and I think space for you to keep your hands warm.

Hi, I've very kindly been sent a M&S code by @Chocolateteabag but don't seem to be able to get it to work. I've got children's pj's and some school socks / shirts in my basket. Does anyone know if these are excluded from the 20% off? Thanks

Also the pebble child stuff looks lovely.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 11/10/2019 13:17

@QVCismyJam, that's how I first found them! DP had been moaning that all the Father's Day stuff accumulating in the shops was either lairy and beer-themed or practical and dull like bloody socks and that at least Mother's Day was big on cake. He had a whole "What's the point of buying people things that are shite just for the sake of it, why can't we just have a national pizza day or eat crisps and chill?!" rant.

So we ordered a big stack of pizzas, hid the socks box among the pile and waited for him to eat his way to the surprise! AND our daughter gave him a fat Pusheen cat holding a bag of crisps which actually makes a crinkling sound and a giant bag of crisps to match. The look on his face was perfectWink

XmassyMumsy · 11/10/2019 13:24

ClutchinMahPurrrls please may I ask where you got the tiny food from?

Would be perfect for my daughter's mini dolls
