crazy the little jumpers are gorgeous!

wheelie the girls don’t watch Charlie and Lola, I used to when I was younger though.

mrs it was a garden centre in the Midlands. Lovely though, but I’d love to see a proper Christmas shop display. The shop you’ve sent looks lovely.

WheelchairWoes · 12/10/2019 00:19

Mrs That link is absolutely marvelous!!!

Also those items sound pretty important to me! I know on some of medical groups Brexit is really scaring some of my friends because they've had to travel to specialists in the EU and now they are really terrified of their long term specialized care :(

I admit I don't know the details of how you guys will be impacted beyond that and the shipping stuff. I've heard LOTS about the shipping from my planner groups haha

Would you guys be able to dumb down how coming away from the EU will harm you guys besides the obvious? From what I can gather higher import taxes which will cause inflation. Also something about food shortages because of customs and delays? Is that right?

My friends in Northern Ireland with family in Ireland are worrying about border control and checkpoints.

Sorry for rambling. I just worry about you all :(

EmrysAtticus · 12/10/2019 06:28

Morning all :) Need to sit down with my Christmas planner today and make a plan of attack for buying gifts. Really chuffed with the Imaginext. Got it for £20 and it would have been around £100 new.

Morning!

I should still be asleep really. Annoying. DH sat up and woke me.

I don't think this board is the right place for Brexit talk (and it's too bloody complex to dumb down, which is why we're in a mess!). Wheelie, there's a Brexit board on here which will answer questions.

It's meant to be dry today. Good for my allotment work. 😁

DD's got a party and DS is off to the in-laws. Day at home tomorrow (it's our wedding anniversary).

Haircuts first today though.

We've got rain forecast most of the day. I should still be asleep too but ds woke up stupidly early which he never does. Dh has gone downstairs with him but I'm awake now 🙄

WreckTangled · 12/10/2019 07:20

My dc are on a YouTube ban. They've only ever been allowed to watch at the weekend anyway but before I know it they've watched loads and their behaviour is awful. It's not going down well but I'm not giving in.

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/10/2019 07:28

You're a determined woman Wreck. DS likes Youtube but mostly watches football clips and stupid cartoons. He still dips in and out of DanTDM stuff and went through a stage of watching a bloke make lightsabers 🤷🏻‍♀️

Up stupidly early this morning to take DD2 to work. It was still dark when I got home and I'm in the kitchen drinking tea and contemplating starting some knitting. I should be tackling the ironing but I'll do that later. DH and DS are heading off to stay overnight at MILs later so I've got a quiet night in with a glass of wine and catch up TV.

WreckTangled · 12/10/2019 07:31

I'm not sure what's worse, the moaning that they can't watch it or the behaviour when they are allowed to watch it?! 🤦🏽‍♀️ they argue over what they watch and then argue when I tell them to turn it off so hopefully a break will help...!

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2019 08:00

We stopped ours watching it probably a year ago now, Wreck. Same reasons as you. They got over it!

It's iPlayer only now. And then mostly on the TV. Tablets cause problems!

WreckTangled · 12/10/2019 08:03

Ds I happily watching a film and Dd is still acting like the world has ended and I'm the worst mum in the world!

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2019 08:41

We're watching Shaun the Sheep! It's actually quite good. 😂

Morning 🌞
Off to Mum's this morning 😁, watched Blue Peter this morning and was gobsmacked at the talented musical kids with very strange names 😂
I wonder if the Troll watches it and that us where they get their names from 😂
Love the Nutcracker shop Wheelie it is to die for 😍
Good luck with the haircut 💯 this morning Fluffy 😊. Are you doing anything special for your anniversary? 😍

Mrsmadevans · 12/10/2019 09:09

Wreck stick to your guns 😊
Woolly , we don't do ironing here . Seriously though life is too short. I only do creased stuff like cotton shirts. Everything else is folded. I find if l tumble things then they come out creaseless lol. Get the knitting out feet up tea in mug 😆 enjoy 😍

EmrysAtticus · 12/10/2019 09:11

Zero ironing here too. Refuse to buy anything that creases easily.

Mrsmadevans · 12/10/2019 09:11

Have you all had your flu jabs? Just been reading that they are expecting Bad cases of Australian flu this year. With the amount of ppl on MN who have already been poorly l am not surprised if it is already here,🙄. Had mine will travel 😁

Mrsmadevans · 12/10/2019 09:13

Em high 5 over the ironing 😁✋

WreckTangled · 12/10/2019 09:19

I don't think my surgery have the under 65 vac in yet. Will check when I'm in work Monday. Peak flu season is January/February so not worried yet.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2019 10:11

I don't iron either. I might have to next year as DD goes into school shirts in juniors. We shall see!

Our kids have their flu vaccine next week. I'm going to Superdrug once I'm fully fit.

Wreck, you can get yours done free at Boots if you're entitled to one. They have stock.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 12/10/2019 10:17

I know fluffy I can also get it done through work but it's much easier to walk down the corridor to the nurse than have to go into town and pay for parking etc

I don't iron either.

I've made the mince mixture for bolognese and lasagne to help me out in the week. Might even make the mash and will also make some soups.

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/10/2019 10:17

I did the ironing

I had my flu jab last week at Boots. Not entitled to a free one but I don't mind paying. DS is having his there too during half term - the school vaccinate up to year 6 and he doesn't have any underlying health conditions so the doctor won't do it.

WreckTangled · 12/10/2019 10:26

Woolly I reckon it won't be long until they're offered it at secondary school too. A few years ago they only did reception and year one and now they do the whole school. I think it's a good idea to get it

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2019 10:26

I wouldn't want anyone to be as ill as I was these last couple of weeks. The jab is necessary I think. I never get ill like that, so it's a cracking strain.

NerosFiddle · 12/10/2019 10:51

Morning all.

I've been up and out of the house at 4 this morning to get to the airport on time.

Wheels I know you weren't mocking my accent. And you're right it's so hard to understand. When I lived in the states No one could make me out.

DS gets his nasal flu vaccine next Saturday. DD won't get it because she's too young. I got mine a few weeks ago. It's covering for 4 strains this year.

FireflyGirl · 12/10/2019 11:29

Wheelie if any of us understood what the f**k was going on with Brexit, we'd gladly explain. But we don't, so we're just stockpiling toilet paper and planning for Christmas...

DS is getting his flu vaccine at school, DH gets one through work as he's NHS. I just don't know whether to get it myself.

I'm not keen - I dislike needles anyway (although iron and B12 deficiency, 1pg and 2mmc mean I have had to get used to them) and the only time I had it (when pregnant) I remember not being able to sleep on that side for ages as it was so sore.

I've never had flu, even when DH has had a bad strain, and there's no guarantee they will vaccinate against the right strain.

I've been looking at placemats for my Christmas table. Never hosted, so never needed any before. eBay have a £5 off £10 spend, so think I'm going to get these ones.

Afternoon everyone! I’m glad it isn’t just mine that go naughty after watching YouTube. DD watches them unboxing you videoed and an Australian family who’s kids have really weird names. she always plays up after.

mrs we’ve had our jabs. So touch wood we don’t get anything!. What were the strange names?

wheelie I have absolutely no idea what’s going on with brexit otherwise I would enlighten you😂

I don’t iron either, I don’t really see the point. The girls end up getting everything creased anyway!.

I hope everyone that I’ve missed is having a good day!. It’s a lazy day for us today, we might watch some Christmas films. Any recommendations?
