fanny i have an issue with the races - it’s not for this thread though.
I can’t believe you have carriage fairy lights, I’m so jealous! And I don’t mean to make fun but the fact that they don’t work reminded me of my dad laying the lights out around the floor and getting very stressed trying to figure out which bulb needed changing (and there was always one). It did make me giggle to think about it.
Try eBay / asking Facebook for bulbs.

Christmas Inheritance you say Firefly? DH is out this evening so I think I’ll give that a go.

Good luck tomorrow Biddy

Thank you Tiland I’m trying to crochet mini jumpers for a Santa washing line I made for my sister a few years ago. I want to make 3, add niece and nephews initials to them and hand them over on Christmas Eve.

I love the pics you post wheels. Have you ever seen Gilmore Girls? I imagine your local town is like theirs as it seems to have a lot of carnivals / celebrations and decorations.

Well done Wreck, I know it can be hard to get that under control never mind doing it well!

Emrys do you work in a school? I have a few teacher / TA friends (and DH) and their stress levels are through the roof at the moment.

I am at the end of my tether with this cough, I’m getting on my own nerves 🙄

TilandPop · 10/10/2019 19:09

That sounds lovely crazy! Is there anything you can do for your cough?

WheelchairWoes · 10/10/2019 19:28

Crazy I haven't seen the Gilmore Girls. To be honest I don't watch TV shows really. I watch 9-1-1 but besides that all I watch are ghost shows and Christmas movies and youtube. I'm not really a show show person. I get bored easily lol We have a few events year round, we don't really have a lot to do activity wise so it makes us have faires and such. We have the County Fairy in July-August, Fall Foliage 2nd weekend in October, Pumpkins int he Park on the 28th of October, the Cookie Stroll is in November, The Lights at the part open the Saturday after Thanksgiving and then for the 4th of July we have a huge fireworks display. We also have assorted little things down town like the fire department's fish fry and such.

I'm sorry you still have the cough. Does anything at all help it?

fanny GOOD LUCK! I hope you guys can figure it out.

Til I need to buy my dd2 more autumn clothes but when did everything get so expensive! UGH $20 for a pair of jeans is utter ridiculous.

The lists for your kids sound good to me. I need to make mine sit down and write out their lists

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/10/2019 19:40

Crazy I swear by those Potter's Cough Pastilles especially for nighttime coughs. I stick one high up between my cheek and my gum. They dissolve overnight and help suppress the cough. They taste very herbal though - it's definitely an acquired taste! Codeine is a cough suppressant too so a couple of co-codamol before bed might help and the painkiller element will help with aches and pains too.

Mrsmadevans · 10/10/2019 19:46

Fanny be careful with those lights m'dear !

Mrsmadevans · 10/10/2019 19:48

Crazy great advice from Woolly Flowers
Just a small bit of advice from one who has taken the damn Co codamol Grin take some Sennacot too Grin

TilandPop · 10/10/2019 19:48

wheelie that’s extortion!. We usually buy charity shop or from George or the likes so it’s pretty cheap for us. And thank you, I’m pretty happy with their lists, family will get them stuff to so they should still have quite a bit to open.

TilandPop · 10/10/2019 19:52

direct.asda.com/george/kids/dresses-outfits/grey-rudolph-print-christmas-sweatshirt-and-joggers-outfit/GEM699597,default,pd.html?cgid=D25M2G1C1 I got these from ASDA for the girls for their Christmas Eve outfits. I do buy some rubbish😂, they have Christmas Eve outfits, Christmas Eve pyjamas and Christmas Day outfits. I was very tempted to buy a Santa duck toilet seat but I refrained.

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/10/2019 20:03

Til We always used to have a new dress AND a new coat for going to Midnight Mass on either Christmas Eve or daytime Mass on Christmas Day and a new nightie to go to bed in on Christmas Eve.

TilandPop · 10/10/2019 20:09

wooly ooh don’t give me any more ideas😂. A new Christmas coat sounds lovely. We go to church on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (we don’t do midnight mass though, they have a celebration for people with kids at about 4). I love getting them in their new outfits for it.

I’m so bloody excited😂. Even though they don’t understand it properly DD1 is getting there, and she gets excited that it isn’t a ‘normal day’. We have DD’s birthday exactly a month before Christmas Day so after that the countdown really starts for us.

Chocolateteabag · 10/10/2019 20:22

Just got home and the boys are watching Stickman in their PJ's which has made me feel all Christmassy except it's a school night and they should be inbed!

I have some 20% off M&S codes if anyone hasn't yet got one - just pm me

Chocolateteabag · 10/10/2019 20:24

crazy - I loved the Gilmore Girls! Reminds me that I got a dvd box set from a charity shop this summer and not yet got round to watching it....

NerosFiddle · 10/10/2019 20:28

Evening all.

I have been buying bundles of clothes for dc on eBay. It's unbelievable the bargains I've got. Some of the stuff has been designer and still has the original tags. I've also bought myself a couple of Christmas jumpers. I have an extortionate amount of Christmas jumpers, but I wear them from November, so I can really get the wear out of them Xmas Grin

Scousers and blow ins, I need your advice. Dh is taking me this weekend as my birthday present. He went to uni there and lived there for 8 years but that was a long time ago. Any recommendations for things to see or do?

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/10/2019 20:35

Unfortunately I'm not really qualified to answer Neros. Despite being a Scouser I haven't lived there for 30 years. The last time I went and had time to do anything other than visit family I divided my time between the museum and art gallery, Liverpool One shopping and the RC cathedral 🤷🏻‍♀️

I did like dinner at Bem Brazil and we had cocktails somewhere nearby the name of which escapes me.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/10/2019 20:39

Go to the Baltic Market to eat! It's apparently got loads of different types of food and people rave about it.

If it's nice, do the big wheel (I work on the dock!).

The museums are apparently really good.

Bus tour?

Cliched Beatles something? The Cavern is always worth a touristy shout.

Loads of brilliant old boozers.

Fly in the Loaf is nice.

Anything on at the Philharmonic you can get tickets for?

Good luck tomorrow, Biddy.

Crazy, my cough is driving me insane too and is testing my pelvic floor. I take Benylin Mucus Night before bed and it knocks me out so I'm sleeping well still.

Wreck, yay for diabetes control.

Chocolate, I'm glad you're home. My two love the JD animations. Snail and the Whale this year. 🎄🎅🏻

Woolly, your image of Dave is great!

Flouncy, LOVE the fire hazard lights. I think you should consider upscaling them to something that won't burn your house down more energy-efficient! There must be a way.

Emrys, what is it you do? Cuddling on the sofa watching TV is fine, you know. Don't let mum guilt make you more stressed. What is it that's stressful about your job?

Hi to everyone else. Got to post as this'll vanish otherwise.

TilandPop · 10/10/2019 20:49

chocolate how lovely and Christmassy, I’ve never watched stickman. Is it good?

neros eBay bundles are a god send aren’t they!. I got a huge bundle for £8 for DD1, and it kitted her entire wardrobe out.

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/10/2019 20:54

Has anyone tried the chocolate from Next?

I was in yesterday to pick up some new school trousers for DS and they had some chocolate bars with initials on the wrappers. I had a look at the ingredients and couldn't see palm oil but I wondered about the taste. The smaller bars would make great stocking fillers.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/10/2019 21:25

I haven't. But feel like I should take one for the team and try some! 🐷😂🎅🏻🎄
