@NotPennysBoat we had tuppence and crumble star wraps recommended when we had our little boy, and I recommend them to everyone! Especially for winter time babies, so easy to use and unlike padded suits/coats etc you don't have to take them off in car seats and so on as you can just unwrap their arms and legs. Plus they look freaking adorable!
I'll be getting a small for my second due end of jan

Bluededoobeedoo · 04/10/2019 21:00

Only posting here as we've all gone Dr Botanicals mad.

I've got a £5 off voucher code which MIGHT also work with the NORTHEAST20 code. Disclaimer that it says I also get £5 off if you use the code, though I've already bought half the shop so won't probably need it!

QueefLatifah · 04/10/2019 21:10

Can anyone remind me of the website mentioned last year , selling wooden toys? People were buying single wooden animals etc for stockings? Quite a unique one I think.

imsorryiasked · 04/10/2019 21:12

@Givealittlebit the Science Museum has done maths stuff, no particular bargains though.

imsorryiasked · 04/10/2019 21:31

English heritage still have some kids single bedding sets at £4.50 princess or knight design

tabbycat985 · 04/10/2019 21:52

@QueefLatifah did you mean the Yes Bebe one?

PinkDaydreams · 04/10/2019 22:07

I’m sure I remember seeing on here last year personalized jars of Nutella. Can anyone tell me where I can buy from please?! Thank you

sugarplumfairy2010 · 04/10/2019 22:23

Debenhams sell them in-store in the run up to Christmas @PinkDaydreams . I'm sure people were ordering just the labels online but can't remember where from.

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 04/10/2019 22:40

Just a headsup for the master of malt sale to shop around if you are thinking of buying. Some of the whisky seems to be genuinely a decent price but for some the "sale" price is what it's being sold for elsewhere anyway. I'm also a little suspicious that I can't find reviews for a lot of the ones on flash sale and I always read reviews before I choose one for DH.

Blokus game mentioned upthread is definitely good, I'd get one for my kids but think they are still a bit young. My inlaws have it and they make us play it once kids are in bed, fil gets ultra competitive!

Smileatthesmallthings · 04/10/2019 22:43

When you get home to 9 parcels scattered amongst 3 neighbours, only to discover that 6 of them are for your DP Hmm
Have been lurking a little while but want to say thanks for all the recommendations - Christmas is starting to feel marginally organised!

  • @Givealittlebit* Has he got a raspberry pi already?
22Giraffes · 04/10/2019 22:55

Missed the earlier recommendations for Blokus but just googled it and it looks perfect dd! Did I miss a deal for it? Amazon is half the price of smyths/entertainer but reviews aren't great (used items/no instructions)

Ginxed · 04/10/2019 22:59

@pinkdaydreams Nutella did a promotion last year where you could order a personalised label for a jar of nutella, but I haven’t seen any this year, sorry.

SushiGo · 04/10/2019 23:07

Free delivery for orders over a fiver at snapfish with the code SHIP1019

They can do photo mugs from 7.99 and photo magnets from 2.99 - may be useful for relatives?

vavavoomdeboom · 04/10/2019 23:28

Grace30 gets you 30% off Dr B stuff

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 05/10/2019 00:53

Tiny snicker, how old are your kids? My 5 year old can play, and my 3 year old (with my help). Blokes is great for all ages!

Reastie · 05/10/2019 05:32

Iheart I once had a Tesco cashmere jumper and it was great, was impressed with the quality.

Sainsburys toy sale starts on Wednesday 16th October.
I will let you know what toys once I find out.

Can anyone help with this one?

Costco used to do a wooden advent calendar with lovely little wooden ornaments to hang on the doors.

Last year they stopped doing them so I had to resort to a different wooden advent calendar which doesn’t have anything with it.
With thr promise I would source some wee ornaments in time for this Christmas. (Nephew was only 6mknths old so no issue last year)

I don’t want to fill it with sweets/toys/junk so was hoping you clever lot can help me find some little ornaments to hang from the doors.

These are the sort of thing that came with the Costco one.

Oh and it’s worth keeping an eye on Facebook for photo shoot offers. We have a lady here who specialises in animal photography who has a Christmas photo shoot offers for £30.

You get a picture included in the price with options for upgrading to different gifts. And can also buy as a voucher to be used in January if easier.

My friend and her family have been amazing to me this year so I am going to steal borrow her dogs to have it done as a surprise.

Dolphintrainer · 05/10/2019 07:06

@runningpink perhaps these small wooden ones from amazon? £7.49 for 24
wooden decorations

Dolphintrainer · 05/10/2019 07:07

For 48, not 24

Spam88 · 05/10/2019 07:08

Can't remember the username of the person who asked sorry, but the website with the wooden toys might have been Little Footprint. They sell Lanka Kade and have free delivery on all orders.

@Bluewavescrashing I'm glad you shopped around for your Prague trip! I was going to suggest you look at separate flights and hotels rather than a deal (but I'm only just catching up with the thread). When we went we got an amazing suite for something stupid like £60 a night.

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 05/10/2019 07:13

@runningpink Do they need to be flat? Some painted ones at Hobbycraft here but would need a string attaching, and only 9 designs...

Or you could paint them yourself?

Did anyone get their mentos? Also, I was too cheap for the cox&cox tree train, even after the referral code, so I bought this one for £9.99. I'd be very interested to know how different it is to the Cox&cox one. Mine looks (and sounds) fabulous, but is definitely not a toy - I doubt it would stand up to a bashing.
