Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

house of cards

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 03/10/2019 11:00

@Gustavo1 which one is it?!

Gustavo1 · 03/10/2019 11:03

@PaddingtonBearHardStare, it’s called lovestruck. Was reduced to £12 then a code got 10% off so for £11.25 click and collect I just twitched!

MissRainbowBrite · 03/10/2019 11:04

@starryeyedsnowgirl Babipur have posted on FB that they are having another delivery mid October so keep an eye out for the Lanka Kade there.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 03/10/2019 11:24

@Gustavo1 must have missed that one. My wedding perfume was VW Princess Smile

Stolenidentity · 03/10/2019 11:30

Just ran to super drug when I'm meant to be working but got the olay moisturiser, simple wipes, simple face wash and free radient gift for £5.65! Thanks for that tip off. It's all for me!

Sux2buthen · 03/10/2019 11:32

Not sure how I missed all of the Superdrug stuff when I'm on this thread many times every day damn it. I'm keeping on the ball now 👀

itwaseverthus · 03/10/2019 11:47

@Vebrithian so your bargain hunting quite possibly saved your life! Grin

So glad you are ok.

HelloSweetlings · 03/10/2019 11:54

Little footprints is great for Lanka Kade, no delivery fee even on the small ones. Sadly no Christmas ones in yet but you get a discount for signing up to the newsletter

Barbarara · 03/10/2019 11:56

Remember the cross body bags from a couple of threads ago? The ones that were quite a bit smaller than we first thought? Well mine arrived today and gave me a good laugh. It’s unlined inside so looks worth what I paid for it Grin and has the bizarre feature of two side zips that open into the bag!?? Gave me a great laugh on a day when I really needed it.

I ordered a Nintendo switch today for what works out to be around £235 on very.
They are on offer for £259.99 and you can get an additional 10% credit back when you order on 12 months but now pay later which means interest free for 12 months.
This is great for me as I couldn’t afford outright but for anyone that doesn’t want to be the aging it back for a year, you can choose BNPL, wait until the next month when they credit you’re account the 10% then just pay the remainder in full.

They also have a similar 20% back deal when spending £150 on toys.

I’m an exsisting customer so not a new customer deal. Those are sometimes even better.

Was looking for a couple of cheapish sofas for my second living room and found something on JD Williams of all places. 25% off first order when opening an account which I've done and will pay off immediately. Managed to get two seater and three seater for £560 with £28 cashback! Anyway, whilst there, quite liked the sound of these cashmere socks and have ordered. Not sure if it can be actual cashmere at this price but will let you know if they're any good when they arrive. May make a decent gift along with some Dr B goodies! www.jdwilliams.co.uk/shop/pretty-secrets-2-pack-cashmere-socks/yj130/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=1021#colour:Grey,size:ONE%20SIZE

Whitecandle · 03/10/2019 12:14

@PinkDaydreams no idea but let me know if you find some as I'd love to make some as presents!

PinkDaydreams · 03/10/2019 12:15

Just checked my emails and 9th October last year I placed two (very large) orders with the body shop. They had a very good sale on then a code for extra discount off. I got some really good bargains. I’m keeping my eyes open again for the same deal!

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 03/10/2019 12:19

OMG you will never guess what just happened!! A DHL van pulled up right outside my house and he nothing for me!! ShockWinkGrin

Unlike Hermes who came 10 minutes later with my last Dr Botanicals order Grin

Vebrithien · 03/10/2019 12:31

Itwaseverthus it is indeed possible that your tip off and my diversion/bargain hunting saved me. Apparently a big crash on the hill just before the turn off for nursery. A gentleman has life threatening injuries. Will keep him in my thoughts.

Was chatting to DD's nursery this morning who were waiting for stuck parents until 7:30 last night (nursery normally shuts at 5:30).
Bargin hunting. Saves money, time and lives.

Kraggle · 03/10/2019 12:31

No a bargain but you guys know everything! Does anyone know when Morrisons are releasing their Christmas food to order this year? I normally do Morrisons or M&S but I’m not impressed with the M&S stuff this year.

Vebrithien · 03/10/2019 12:33

bargain (sorry Blush)
In my defence, I managed to open the car door into my face this morning, so have a cracking headache and counting down until gin time!

Yeknom · 03/10/2019 12:38

@itwaseverthus oooooh I've always wanted cashmere socks (for me!). Looking forward to hearing what they're like!

MsMilly · 03/10/2019 12:39

My DS absolutely loves these pirate toys. We got them in Greece this year and they were at rather extortionate resort costs, but found them at a UK seller here for very reasonable prices. They would also make great stocking fillers. www.tickety-boo.co.uk/acatalog/Arty_Toys_from_Djeco-p1.html

Batbear · 03/10/2019 12:41

Finally had the DC's birthdays so I can think about Christmas.

Can anyone remember if cornishwear do offers anymore? I quite fancy doing filled mug gifts!

Batbear · 03/10/2019 12:42

Cornishware!

Already making typos!

MsMilly · 03/10/2019 12:42

Sorry, you have to scroll down a bit to get to the pirates but they also have knights, princesses Viking’s etc Smile

Snooky17 · 03/10/2019 12:43

Got an email this morning from Matalan 15% off men, women, kids and home looks like account specific tho

Jammiebammie · 03/10/2019 12:50

Phillip Pullman’s new book is £12.50 @ WHSmiths and of you order you receive a free notebook (see pic)

Also, groupon is worth mentioning, if you haven’t signed up with an account do so now. In the past 3 weeks I’ve been offered £10 vouchers for £5 for Tesco, Argos and Primark. And 5 odeon tickets for £25.

@Vebrithien that’s scary, I hope the man is ok and very lucky you weren’t involved.
