Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@MrsLem oh crap! Haha. I think I read somewhere they're getting a top up today (but may have imagined it). I got loads of wooden spinning tops and some skittles too

CamdenTownie · 03/10/2019 09:09

@Jammiebammie - I work for a fashion company and Balenciaga actually are no different to a fruit of the loom sweatshirt!

Also we frequently get stuff nicked from the packaging and replaced with newspapers or old rags, once someone put their old mouldy trainers in the box and pinched the new ones!

@CamdenTownie oh my word the cheek of some people, mouldy trainers... eek I feel sorry for the person unpacking those. What a price if the quality’s not that good then, I use fruit of the loom with my vinyl cutting machine lol, sure I could make one.. (I’m joking obvs)
Dd is really getting into high end fashion.. doesn’t really work on a budget though.

beadyboo · 03/10/2019 09:14

Look like lots of us have gone for the Brew Tea offer. Hope you all enjoy them as much as I’m enjoying mine, the lemon and ginger is delicious.

@CamdenTownie this one is pretty reasonable but not sure if you wanted a more "grown up" one? FAM10 give 10% off.

I'm lusting over this ridiculously expensive one ostheimer

MrsLem · 03/10/2019 09:19

@Duckyneedsaclean I'm happily buying some other things so thanks very much for the code! X

Duckyneedsaclean · 03/10/2019 09:21

@beadyboo with the tea co, is the pot big enough for two or only one? Pondering before ordering!

MrsLem · 03/10/2019 09:23

@CamdenTownie definitely not as beautiful as the Lanka Kade ones but this one survived very well last year. I also like I can shove them all in and shut the door for storage. www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/d6109.html

@wornoutboots
Thankyou for unicycle suggestion, my 8 year old has actually asked for one and I just dismissed it Blush Might actually get him one now.

Also had my Wonderbly books back and they're lovely. They send 2 x 15% off codes with the parcel if anyone wants them. I'm in work now so will be this evening.

dizzygirl1 · 03/10/2019 10:04

Thanks for the revolution codes. I should be finished for DD soon! The smaller picture is the free mystery gift worth up to £26.

@HereBeFuckery thanks for the new email tip Grin I think the asda £20 off code is only for London deliveries though? Has anyone outside of London managed to place an order and the £20 off work?

HarryPotterFan436 · 03/10/2019 10:15

I'm gutted the lanka kade christmas figures are out of stock.

HereBeFuckery · 03/10/2019 10:16

@PinkDaydreams I am a London postcode so I can't help, soz! No idea if it works elsewhere!

PinkDaydreams · 03/10/2019 10:18

I have some passport sized photos that I want to put in key rings. Can anyone recommend a decent type please?
The ones I remember are plastic rectangles but they always seemed to scratch really easily and then look rubbish.

mogtheexcellent · 03/10/2019 10:35

Im working from home today and its a tad nippy so have my lovely turtledoves gloves on. If you are stuck for a present I would recommend them. I bought mine in the summer when they had a sale on but they do offer a £10 discount to new customers on one pair with their lucky dip (which means you cant choose a colour - but they are all lovely). My lucky dip pair were a gorgeous green colour.

Tooner · 03/10/2019 10:41

Cath Kidston have a sale on. This cross body bag is a good half price deal, £24 instead of £48.

Unihorn · 03/10/2019 10:44

Asda code doesn't work in South Wales sadly!

PinkDaydreams · 03/10/2019 10:48

Thanks @Unihorn I’ll wait till there’s one working and then sign up with a new email address Grin

starryeyedsnowgirl · 03/10/2019 10:50

Oh no the Lanka Kate figures are sold out at Babi pur too. I want the Christmas ones, some dinosaurs and some insects. According to the uk Lanka kade Facebook page even the Lanka kade shop didn’t get any as they were al snapped up by stockists. There should be more stock before Christmas they said (including a reindeer) so if anyone sees them please post here.

tabbycat985 · 03/10/2019 10:51

New Look have a couple of codes available, if they're any good to anyone.

DS has been ill all week & because I'm a softie & felt sorry for him, I gave him one of his big Xmas presents to cheer him upBlush
