Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

I just did the topcashback lego advent calendar deal - its running until 27th October but new accounts only or accounts that have never had a cashback withdrawal. You can get a Lego Advent Calendar worth up to £24.99 & postage of £3.99 and they'll cashback the full £24.99 cost of the calendar so you just pay the postage. I got the Star Wars one for my grandson, Harry Potter seems to be out of stock but they also have Lego Friends and Lego City ones still available or they did in the past 10 mins anyway.

My Dr Botanicals order came today - smells lovely - thank you to whoever it was who posted that deal.

Has anyone seen any offers for cheap personalised cards? I have a ton of birthdays coming up right before Christmas - this thread is sorting the present side out!

NoWordForFluffy · 02/10/2019 17:34

Apparently Superdrug has a load of really reduced fragrance. Worth a gander if you're in the market for men's or women's fragrance.

WaitWhatOh · 02/10/2019 17:41

recklessgran · 02/10/2019 18:15

I'm looking for a wooden train set for DGD who is 2. Happy to pay for Brio but is it worth the extra money do you think? You know, a bit like lego - there's only one lego and none of the copies are as good in my opinion so are these wooden train sets the same? Would love recommendations from you mummies in the know. If bargainous that would be even better but more concerned with getting it right and buying it once and for all if you see what I mean. TIA

Luxplus · 02/10/2019 18:18

livingthegoodlife · 02/10/2019 19:04

To the PP who asked about wooden train sets, I don't think it is comparable to Lego. We only have real Lego and I'd never buy anything else. However we have a mix of Big jigs, IKEA and brio. Not much difference really, I'd save your money for future Lego purchases!!

I'm also looking for glitter Doc martens and spent ages searching the web last night. What size @20sugarplumfairy2010 ? I'm looking for junior 11/12. I found some cheap red glitter ones but small.
