Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

SAVE25 gets 25% off at The Works when spending over £10. Doesn't work on offers (book bundles, 2 for £10 etc) but some lovely books, gifts and stocking fillers to be had.

Unihorn · 02/10/2019 13:14

The £20 off Asda is London postcodes only for anyone looking to use it.

tweedledeedo · 02/10/2019 13:19

@CupCupGoose thanks. I've just used the code for Dino dump. Looks good! £7.99 delivered tomorrow. Bargain.

If anyone wants to use my cox and cox code for £20 off here it is coxandcox.mention-me.com/m/ol/kw7li-6aab4aa2d0

margaritasbythesea · 02/10/2019 13:35

Thank you LadyNina. Ordered!

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 02/10/2019 13:38

Finger puppets arrived today. I'd been issued a refund for both as I'd ordered two lots. Free stocking filler there for Dd and Dn Smile

gaggiagirl · 02/10/2019 13:41

Thank you to the poster who recommended the candy corn candles from tk maxx. I got one today and it's beautiful

GreatBritishbakeofffan · 02/10/2019 13:48

Babycakes1010, I over heard a conversation about a river island online sale starts Monday night (Tuesday morning from 12 am) might be helpful

Amazonmulu · 02/10/2019 13:53

Oh wise ones - has anyone seen a kids toy advent calendar on offer? I've missed the Lego one via topcashback Confused

What can I put with two dr b cleanser bars and some organic hand cream? Doesn’t look like much right now...

MyIncapableOne · 02/10/2019 14:01

Just noticed this collection of 5 x Little People, Big Dreams books for £14.99 on Scholastic.co.uk. Lovely series of books for young girls.

I've just ordered this book How Winston Delivered Christmas for my children. It looks beautiful and I thought I could use it as a alternative to a Advent calender. You read one chapter a day and it gives you a different activity to do every day. The cheapest I could find it is linked above for £7.10.

CosmicVagina · 02/10/2019 14:11

Does anybody have a code for Wentworth wooden puzzles or recommendations for a lovely Christmas jigsaw puzzle?

Sweetpea84 · 02/10/2019 14:12

Any Smyths toy codes? Please and thank you 😊

Duckyneedsaclean · 02/10/2019 14:12

Very (and Amazon) have 20% off Harry Potter lego sets.

If you haven't ordered from Very before and open a credit account you can get £30 credit on a £60 spend with code PAQ4V. I just got such a bargain on DS's much wanted Great Hall - essentially £41.99! (rrp
£89.99)

NotPennysBoat · 02/10/2019 14:30

My Cox & Cox gift wrap has just arrived and it's gorgeous!
A couple of people have used my referral code so I've got two lots of £20 off £25 codes to spend - does anyone know if they stack so I can use both on one order and only pay the (irritating) p&p once??

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 02/10/2019 14:52

I would be surprised if they did stack @NotPennysBoat but you could try it? Most websites override a second code being input. I am just looking at it as a £15 saving on a £25 spend and pretending the P&P isn't happening!!

nickdrakeslovechild · 02/10/2019 15:04

NotPennysBoat, I have seen non unicorn pocket scarves in Morrisons.

Jammiebammie · 02/10/2019 15:27

@NotPennysBoat amazon have a few hat/scarfs here
Or next, Debenhams and Asda all have them (pics added) Debenhams one seems a really good price.

I've just managed to buy the Harry Potter Funko Pop advent calendar for £29 from Amazon. It's usually close to £50. Go to the other sellers list to find it at this price.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 02/10/2019 15:46

waitwhatoh I’m making a little hamper of eco friendly/vegan stuff. Metal straws, bamboo cup, washable make up wipes.

Jammiebammie · 02/10/2019 15:50

@Youranus do you have a link for the HP funko calendar? Can’t find it on amazon for that price at all, even checking other sellers. Thanks.

CupCupGoose · 02/10/2019 16:17

Not very Christmasy but if you go through their Instagram page, friction free shaving are giving you a free razor handle, free ingraving and a free protective cover for the price of 4 blades £9. It's a subscription service but very easy to skip/cancel. They are cruelty free and also do a free recycling service for old blades.
