Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Nara WH Smith did an erasers one last year, if that’s any good. Smiggle? Is Schleich too expensive?

Flamingle18 · 01/10/2019 19:25

@NaraDeer there's some playdough calendars which look quite good and crayola

TalkingOrmer · 01/10/2019 19:27

@JDSTER thanks. I’m not sure but will give it a try b

Bluewavescrashing · 01/10/2019 19:29

Thank you to whoever posted the Freddie Flowers link for a free bouquet. My mum is going through a rough time so I sent them to her and she loves them!

SleeptightDaisy · 01/10/2019 19:34

Turtledoves have £10 of their fingerless gloves with this link looks like you need to add an email.

Bluewavescrashing · 01/10/2019 19:36

Turtle Doves are amazing. I have two pairs of cashmere wrist warmers and have given several pairs as gifts. ❤️

CupCupGoose · 01/10/2019 19:37

@woodwaj sorry I should have said it needs to be in capitals. It worked for me. I found it on Instagram.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 01/10/2019 19:49

I have never heard of this company before but they are offering a hamper including the wicker basket and at least 8 of their products for £19.99. Might be good for someone who is hard to buy for?

Don't blame me if it's crap!

MyIncapableOne · 01/10/2019 19:51

Someone was asking for Hatchimal CollEGGtibles ideas on the last thread. The Tropical Party is currently £11.49 at BargainMax.co.uk and the Sparkle Spa Playset is currently £11.00 reduced from £17.00 at Argos.

Oh, forgot to say that The Loving Nature also has a loyalty scheme. Worth doing if you're likely to buy for yourself/others in future!

SAVE15 for anyone who missed the code last time.

EternallyGrapefruit · 01/10/2019 20:00

*last page, not last time!!

Whitecandle · 01/10/2019 20:01

@LikeSilver wow what a good idea!! I'd say it's worth a try if you aren't that bothered what you eat!

Hope I remember to ask you what you get if you do decide to go for it lol

LikeSilver · 01/10/2019 20:14

@Whitecandle We usually go out but are staying home this year. I happened to pop into M&S last year for things for a hamper and I remember there was absolutely loads of yellow sticker Christmas meat. Hopefully it’ll be the same this year! 🤞 Will stick a chicken in the freezer just in case!

CosmicVagina · 01/10/2019 20:18

@SleeptightDaisy thank you for the turtle dove link!

Reluctantbettlynch · 01/10/2019 20:27

@LikeSilver it is pot luck, they stopped it for a while on Xmas Eve as there were people literally fighting over things. Ridiculous behaviour.

New Year can be good though and the are closed New Year's Day, so sometimes extras to be had.

gaggiagirl · 01/10/2019 20:34

I went to m&s food last new years eve after work and there was no food 😂 like a plague of locusts had been at it. Aldi was the same. We ended up at McDonald's.

Jammiebammie · 01/10/2019 20:37

Thank you to everyone for ideas for dd1, sadly nothing jumping out at me yet! She’s not a girly girl (she’s just bought herself a katana sword...) very into fitness, she asked for ufc tickets for Xmas but I can’t get any.

Lounge have sent an email and they are giving away pairs of limited edition things, just pay £3 shipping here This is for breast awareness month and they also send you a free guide for feeling your breasts. Their thongs are usually £15 (dd loves them) you can add a donation at checkout, they’ve partnered with coppafeel and trekstop which are 2 fantastic charities so if you’re able to, even just a pound would be fab.

Jammiebammie · 01/10/2019 20:38

*Thongs sorry, not things

Kittywampus · 01/10/2019 20:42

@Whitecandle my children were also obsessed with remote controls and at that age I fobbed them off with an old online banking keypad.

PinkJam · 01/10/2019 20:47

@PaddingtonBearHardStare It made me weirdly happy to see us on the round up email Grin

ScarlettDarling · 01/10/2019 20:49

CupCupGoose thanks so much for the Big Potato games code. It worked for me(not even in capitals!). We love their Chameleon game so I've bought Don't get got as a stocking filler for ds.

Jammiebammie · 01/10/2019 20:52

What was the big potato code please @scarlettdarling ? Sorry for asking but mn isn’t letting me go back any pages for some reason.
Love BP games, our favourite is Scrawl, such a laugh.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 01/10/2019 21:21

Me too @PinkJam and then giggled to myself about the thread title as the majority of the Dr Botanicals stuff was mentioned in the previous thread so would make no sense to anyone else reading only this thread Grin

ScarlettDarling · 01/10/2019 21:25

@Jammiebammie the code was BROGAN20 to take 20% off Big potato games on Amazon.
