Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

Reastie · 28/09/2019 08:29

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Referral link here . Use this to post any links where you can refer a mner and you or both of you get an incentive. For ease and fairness please don’t post these on the main thread.

@NewYearsEveWedding I’ve already prewarned my parents who are visiting in November to make space in their suitcase to bring stuff over for me. Middlechips is obsessed with penguins and of course this is the time of year to get it all!

ScarlettDarling · 01/10/2019 21:33

@JammieBammie I've just looked at Scrawl, it sounds just up our street but it's advised age 17+. Is it rude? Would have to be suitable for our 12 year old.

Jammiebammie · 01/10/2019 21:45

Thanks @scarlettdarling for the code

Tbh we actually play scrawl with our 11 and 13 years olds. None of the actual prompt cards are rude but the drawings you do yourself can be a bit suggestive.... one we did the other night the prompt was ‘bum bongos’ and after dhs terrible drawing dd2 thought it was ‘massaging your privates’ 😳 there are slight innuendos but the cards themselves aren’t very rude. We have such a laugh doing it but we definitely aren’t a prudish family by any means, I think the age rating is a suggestion but it’s really up to you .

recklessgran · 01/10/2019 21:45

@SleeptightDaisy thank you for the Turtle Doves tip. That's another stocking filler sorted.

EternallyGrapefruit · 01/10/2019 21:51

Scrawl looks like serious fun. Wishlisted!

SushiGo · 01/10/2019 21:52

Might be worth holding out for a better deal, but there's a small 6% discount on the bamboo make-up removed pads someone linked to when we were all buying vegan soap :D

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07S6LY3QV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8

Tick the apply voucher box and the price goes down from 12.59 to 11.83.

Jammiebammie · 01/10/2019 21:58

Oh I forgot I took a photo of the bum bongos one! (Don’t call me a bad parent please 🙈) you pass the cards along and cover them up so you only see the final ones at the end. I find it better with 5 people as you end on a picture but works with 4 too.
Dh drew ‘bum bongos’ I thought it was ‘drumming an arse’ dd2 drew the second pic which dd3 thought was ‘massaging someone’s penis’

In still laughing now, don’t send the social Grin

I'm on the lookout for a girls scarf with pockets for DNiece. The only ones I've seen are unicorn themed (she's 9 going on 19, unicorns are SO uncool!). I also spotted one in Monsoon but it was glittery fabric which felt itchy!
I've tried Primark, M&S, Monsoon & Next... has anyone spotted anything suitable anywhere?? Bargainous a bonus, obviously!
