Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@TripleTKA I bought the Leapstart 3D when t was reduced last month so not really sure if it’ll drop again. If you leave it in your amazon basket, they’ll notify you of any price changes. Not especially I’m afraid but I wanted to say - you need a computer to set it up so make sure you open it before you wrap it! Also, if you’re definitely going to get it, keep an eye on the books that go with it. I managed to get one reduced to £5 a few weeks ago. Good luck!

Just found out my brother's girlfriend and her kids will be at Christmas. No idea what to get an 11yo girl and 8yo boy! Also debating whether to buy all new stockings for everyone since our extended family have always had the same handmade ones and I don't want them to feel left out... any suggestions welcome!

Hi I am looking for a matalan discount code I have re-subscribed to emails but nothing has arrived yet! Has anyone any tips on how to receive one?!

TripleTKA · 29/09/2019 20:06

Sorry if it’s already been mentioned. I’ve preordered a hatchimal mystery hatching egg from the entertainer for a bargainous, £19.99. I remember when they cost £80 in Xmas 2017! Hey also had hungry bunnies (very cute) for £10 and some digital watches for £3.50

I hadn't come across Hungry Bunnies before but think DD will love them - have ordered one! Thank you!

runningpink · 29/09/2019 20:38

Have sent you a PM bluewaves

gaggiagirl · 29/09/2019 20:44

Thank you to whoever posted about the 3 in 1 Lego box from Argos. Perfect for us as the DC had asked for 2 out of the 3 items anyway!

Rosie2000 · 29/09/2019 20:48

It much but I just ordered the Friends T-shirt and free mug on IWOOT, no free delivery but found this code - WBACK22 for 10% off which almost covers the postage. They have 30% off lots of Friends merchandise, but annoyingly the women’s hoodies are more expensive than the men’s ...Hmm

Rosie2000 · 29/09/2019 20:48

it’s not much

Pumpkintopf · 29/09/2019 20:56

Has anyone bought those Heelys from BargainMax? They seem really cheap, are they ok?

WisestIsShe · 29/09/2019 21:51

Anyone seen any bargain Yankee candle advent calendars? I always get my best friend one but a bargain one would be great.

georgialondon · 29/09/2019 21:57

@PowerslidePanda thanks for the hungry bunnies tip. Just ordered one. My little one will love it!

Reluctantbettlynch · 29/09/2019 22:06

@wibbletooth if you are after changing robes Booicore are the best I have found. They are excellent quality and last for years. Try amazon for them

woodwaj · 29/09/2019 22:09

Can anyone recommend anywhere for cheap Van's tshirts?

Pumpkintopf · 29/09/2019 22:19

Lostmyrubyslippers oops, told you I was being thick! Thank you Grin

Pumpkintopf · 29/09/2019 22:25

Wisestisshe cheapest I've found for this year's calendar is £19.99 from Just my look with free delivery. They also have an offer on with 10% off orders over £50 with code 'payday' and a free medium red raspberry jar if you spend £50 on Yankee.

HoneyDragon · 29/09/2019 22:35

Very have 10% off Real Techiques brushes etc and a free Beauty Blender worth £5 with each purchase.

So for £6.29 you can get the cleansing gel and a blender sponge, or a blender sponge in a travel case and another sponge for the same price. Plus it’s free delivery if you choose click and collect. Thought it might be good for those making up beauty advents or as teen stocking fillers.

EvilHerbivore · 29/09/2019 22:44

Probably a bit too specific but does anyone know of a code for heat treats website?
