Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Yankee advent is in the boots 3 for 2 so if you need 2 other £25 presents that takes it to £16.67

mammmamia · 30/09/2019 03:38

Thanks to the two posters who posted about Dobble offer on amazon. It arrived today!

mammmamia · 30/09/2019 03:39

@sugarplumfairy2010

I got my DD some heelys size 13 last Christmas and she had a foot injury from gymnastics so never wore them. I’ve got them listed for sale on various sites. PM me if you’d like the details.

WisestIsShe · 30/09/2019 06:07

@Pumpkintopf and @RJnomore1 thanks. I love this thread.

boughtnotbrought · 30/09/2019 07:04

Woolovers 15% off everything ends today, code is PEEK15

Jammiebammie · 30/09/2019 07:33

Morning lovelies!

Just noticed Very have an offer on toys when you spend £150 and select 12 months buy now pay later, you get 20% credit back using code PEH7H at checkout. Usually very offers are for new customers only so if you have an account it might be worth a look. You can pay all in one go too.

Loccitane have deals that are stacking at the moment. First saw on hotdeals so tried myself and it works. The advent calendar is reduced to £49. You can use code FAVOURITES and you get the heroes beauty collection for £15 instead of £31.50 and you can stack with code ACV143 which gives you a free suitcase of delights worth £20. You can also add a sample trio for free and get free gift wrapping and free delivery.
There’s lots of things on sale too if you didn’t want the advent and codes stack too. If you spend over £60 you can use the code GETAWAY instead of avc143 and get a free getaway collection worth £32 Or spend over £130 and use code LUXURY to get a free luxury gift worth £69.50, these would both be instead of the £20 suitcase gift.
Hope that made sense, I’ve added a pic. And cursing the fact I’m skint this week!

I went on Argos this week for their half price toys, not finding much in stock in my area... however their 2 for £15 was brilliant and I ordered lots of things for my nieces and nephews (whom I rarely see, so didn't want to spend a fortune on).

I would definitely recommend this if your looking to spend under £10 on gifts

Ehunt1 · 30/09/2019 07:53

After giving up on the Argos half price toy sale, I found the Barbie Chelsea Club House I was wanting for £12.50 on amazon.

I found a shaggy Shawn on amazon for £8.99.
The name alone is a must buy!

Ehunt1 · 30/09/2019 08:00

I’m not sure if I am the last person to discover this.....but Asda have started an online rewards thing. You get points for orders, click and collect(more points if you collect at a later date) and for leaving product reviews. You can redeem your points to get discount vouchers. I managed to get 20% off a coat I wanted, I was holding off until there was a promotion on so I didn’t break my ‘never pay full price’ promise!

TalkingOrmer · 30/09/2019 08:09

Thanks for all the bargains and ideas.

Has anyone seen good quality/brand makeup brushes reduced?

Thanks

Mrsmadevans · 30/09/2019 08:12

TalkingOrmer This Oliver Bonas make up brush set is half price to £15. The bag and large mirror are gorgeous too. I ordered one for my teen daughter and when it arrived I was so impressed I ordered again, for nieces and goddaughters. (I also got the manicure kit at £7.50 to go alongside it.)
here

Somerville · 30/09/2019 09:12

Actually it’s only £6 for the manicure set, from £15 originally. It seems to be high quality, and looks much more expensive. www.oliverbonas.com/accessories/nellie-pink-manicure-set

TalkingOrmer · 30/09/2019 09:21

@somerville that’s absolutely perfect. Thank you.

PinkJam · 30/09/2019 09:23

@Jammiebammie Thank you so much for the L’Occitane info and codes. Wanted to order some presents from there anyway and even better with the free gifts.

SleeptightDaisy · 30/09/2019 09:38

Sorry can someone remind me of the travel mugs that lots were saying were great was it from Wilko's. It was a thread or couple of threads ago.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 30/09/2019 09:41

Just got a despatch email from Dr Botanicals. Just need to wait for the other three BlushGrin

villamariavintrapp · 30/09/2019 09:42

I think the travel mugs were contigo. They often have them in Costco.

mamabluestar · 30/09/2019 09:57

On the hype website code HYPEOFF35 is giving 35% off all purchases, including sale items. It's worth mentioning FREESHIP gives free delivery but they can't be stacked

Bluewavescrashing · 30/09/2019 10:17

My brand alley order arrived today. Molton Brown shower gel set x5 100ml bottles reduced from £50 to £25. I don't think it's worth 50 but 25 is good. For MIL it's perfect as she's hard to buy for. Also got an Emma Bridgewater passport holder £7, Ted Baker luggage tags in a nice gift box £12 and top quality ski socks x 2 pairs for £10
All for £55 delivered as I had a new customer code. Pretty pleased with that.

Bluewavescrashing · 30/09/2019 10:20

Dr Botanicals order arrived just now too. DH made the 🙄 face at the postmen coming and going 😁 but I'm nearly finished with Christmas shopping now!

DD8 just realised Santa isn't real which is a bit sad. I've got to buy their main presents and stockings when they've written their lists and 3 nephews but all the adults and other children are done now. Mainly thanks to this thread 😊👌

margaritasbythesea · 30/09/2019 10:27
