Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@daphine2004 I received my dr botanicals order yesterday. The box smelt amazing even before I opened it! The soap bars look really good, I’d say they are an excellent bargain.

Kutsy · 29/09/2019 09:59

I just managed to get the orange bubbly surprise for £15. The pink one is not available for the same price. Hope you get it! X

Kutsy · 29/09/2019 10:02

Sorry if it’s already been mentioned. I’ve preordered a hatchimal mystery hatching egg from the entertainer for a bargainous, £19.99. I remember when they cost £80 in Xmas 2017! Hey also had hungry bunnies (very cute) for £10 and some digital watches for £3.50.

cccameron · 29/09/2019 10:09

daphine2004 I've used Dr botanicals facial oils for a while and they are beautiful so I would have absolutely no worries about quality. I've already ordered quite a big haul but I'm tempted to go back for more!

@Isadora2007 Thank you, but it doesn’t look like it’s available to buy at the moment from there. I will keep hunting!

FallenSky · 29/09/2019 10:26

Some half price toys here at Tesco Not much choice but might be useful for some.

recklessgran · 29/09/2019 10:33

Lc2006 · 29/09/2019 10:34

Thank you very much @Chocoolatepumpkin managed to get one Grin

daphine2004 · 29/09/2019 10:35

I have ordered DrB’s bars. It’s really confusing as offers pop up and you can’t stack them, which means I paid £7.50 for the free coconut one as it took my other code out and it wouldn’t let me have my free mask either!

woodwaj · 29/09/2019 10:39

DaisyChops · 29/09/2019 10:45

Hi ladies, does anyone know if the orange and pink bubbly LOLs have different dolls in or is it just pot luck?

Whatsername7 · 29/09/2019 10:46

U got dds keyboard from gear4music - can highly recommend. She has lessons so needed a decent one.

SandraOhshair · 29/09/2019 10:47

Dobble is 8.00 on Amazon from 12 99. Not hugely bargainous, but it's a simple and exciting game that a 13 year old enjoyed.

Kutsy · 29/09/2019 10:50

DaisyChops, they have different dolls and accessories in it. I mean all the orange ones are the same doll (doll1)and all the pink ones are doll 2. So no point buying 2 orange ones etc.

DaisyChops · 29/09/2019 10:55

Thanks kutsy, I've bought an orange one off amazon as it's DD's birthday in January so it will do for then as £15 is such a good price!

Someaddedsugar · 29/09/2019 10:56

Wooden food mixer for those getting kitchens for little ones here - £5.99 + £1.76 p&p

Kutsy · 29/09/2019 11:00

Children’s presents post:

Great Thread. Thank you for all the tips. Though my credit card is not so thankful! Sorry I’m late to this party so apologise if this has already been posted.

TK Maxx: My local TK Maxx has fingerlings for £7.99 and lil gleemerz for £7.99. It also had scruff-a-luv bunnies for £13 I think, not 100%.

Amazon: They have 2 for £7 on selected books. In the children’s section there are sticker dolly dressing, magic painting and HP and Pokemon sticker and colouring books. Definitely worth checking out.
They also have the sparkle edition lol surprise doll on for £8.50 currently.

Argos: Some great bargains already posted. They had little live pets on good reductions. Of note, the dancing unicorn was £10, the singing bird with cage was £15 and the fluttering butterflies were £8.50. Also had plenty of stock when I bought them. Amazon also occasionally price match so worth keeping an eye if you are after a particular toy!

Happy shopping! X

JDSTER · 29/09/2019 11:01

daphine I had same problem with Dr B so haven’t ordered yet. Is there a way to get free delivery or does it have to be over £25 after they’ve taken 50% off?

HoneyDragon · 29/09/2019 11:14

I was in the Disney store yesterday and the discount on the reduction shelf are 50% to 90%. I got some lovely Aladdin jewellery sets from £25 down to £4. They had notepads down from £10 to £2 and handbags from £65 down to £25?for example. Shop assistant said a lot of more “adult” things like homeware, accessories and stationary will go in over the next month in anticipation of Xmas. So worth a look if you’re passing.

Also found out the if you have a student discount you get 10% off all full price items.

Chocolatepumpkin · 29/09/2019 11:19

@Lc2006 that's great! It's the only downside to Amazon prices don't normally stay low for long.

BeaLola · 29/09/2019 11:20

Mountain warehouse 20% MICL19

Cotswold company 15% off with CLS15TCC25
