Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Late to joining this thread and 11 pages in, you’re all a bunch of bargain hunting chatterboxes lol.

I’m getting so miffed at all the smyths bargains, just checked and they have what I want in store but I can’t get anyone to go waaaahhh.

@Sixp you might be better buying the beatmaster kit from Roli direct. Same price as JL but you get a 6 month melodic subscription and lifetime support from them. Dh is a music producer and 9 times out of 10 he buys equipment direct because of the additional support and software you get from companies individually. Gear4music can be good but the site linked was to the US one and they don’t have it available on the Uk part of the site. I wish you luck as this is a bloody expensive hobby to get into lol.

Thanks nocutts for even more pop advice on the last thread, the entertainer actually had more pops available than I’d realised.

Just had this email from revolution

Dr B orders, you have to spend £25 to get free delivery. Only certain items qualify for a free bar, you will know its a free one when you get a pop up asking you to add it for £2. It will add to cart for full price then the 50% discount gets applied. The £7.50 is then deducted after you check out. If you are buying for gifts and not too specific about what product you want try playing around to see what gets you a free bar-if you get the pop up, its free 😀

daphine2004 · 29/09/2019 11:35

@JDSTER I think it has to be after discount. I got it to £25.41 and whilst I didn’t get the bar half price I’ll wrap it up for me!

Jammiebammie · 29/09/2019 11:36

Thanks @queenofelves that code actually works on top of the buy 3 get one free, and you still get the free mystery bag too. Now I wish I wasn’t on a no spend until next week!

daphine2004 · 29/09/2019 11:36

@noodledoodler I feel like cancelling and starting over.

Serenity25 · 29/09/2019 11:37

Lol surprise sparkle series is £8.50 on amazon at the moment.

noodledoodler · 29/09/2019 11:41

Daphne, if you have an item in your basket which qualifies for a free bar the pop up will keep coming up til you add it, maybe none of your chosen products quallify? Things that worked for me, the small superfood sets, rose hand cream, neroli and orange rescue creams, rose face oil ltd edition.

Fuiseog · 29/09/2019 11:44

Boohoo have up to 60% off today and looks like extra on the app

Sixp · 29/09/2019 11:46

@jammiebammie Thanks. I think he will need the melodic subscription: good advice!

daphine2004 · 29/09/2019 11:47

@noodledoodler I’ve requested to cancel so I can redo. I’d ordered two of each bar 😱 and it was in my basket and then not, so not sure why. Actually it may have been when I tried the code for my free face mask and I hadn’t noticed.

I’ll see what happens with cancellation.

Ollie and nic sale finishes tonight with an extra 10% off with code OUT10
Free delivery over £20
Had an issue with a bag I bought from them recently and I can’t fault the customer service.

DaisyChops · 29/09/2019 11:59

Am I right in thinking that Smyths do another £10 off £50 again before Christmas? My credit card needs a rest now 😂

PinkDaydreams · 29/09/2019 12:00

I’m looking for wellie socks for a toddler if anyone has seen any bargains please?

WaitWhatOh · 29/09/2019 12:03

Ooo that revolution site is bad. I mean good but oh! I’ve just placed my THIRD order in about as many weeks. Grin just got £40 worth of make up and a free gift ( which I’ve had before and is a nice selection of things) and free delivery for £26.... the codes just stack well 😁

chaosisaladder · 29/09/2019 12:03

Someone has probably mentioned it but if you apply for the amazon MasterCard, and select instant spend, you get an immediate £20 gift card on your amazon account. Be wary of the fact that amazon changes the credit card to your default payment method though so make sure you select the card you actually want to pay with. You can just cancel the card when it comes Smile

WaitWhatOh · 29/09/2019 12:04

Meant to say that quite frankly if you are t getting a vegan cleansing bar from me then you’re def getting eyeshadow Grin

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 29/09/2019 12:17

Just had an email about the shampoo bars saying they're really busy (wonder why haha) and they'll email once order is on the way and there'll be an extra something in the email as an apology Grin

Redwinestillfine · 29/09/2019 12:23

The M and S Nuxe deal doesn't work anymore ( it was until they ran out )😭.....and yes another here far too invested in this thread Grin

dizzygirl1 · 29/09/2019 12:25

@DarkHumour and @daphine2004 do you have a picture of the Aldi cleansing lotion etc? I went looking today but couldn't see it! I'm not sure if I was being blind!

daphine2004 · 29/09/2019 12:33

@dizzygirl1 I will take a photo as soon as I can. Currently feeding a newborn and have visitors due at 1. Until then, it’s in a white rectangle box with a light blue, teal border. In my Aldi it was in the end of the aisle of mystery with loads of other toiletries and some knock off YSL touché eclait in small gold boxes. The box has the cleanser and muslin cloth on it.

Duchessofealing · 29/09/2019 12:52

@FallenSky thank you for the Tesco link - have been looking for the Disney 3” dolls at a good price!

Redwinestillfine · 29/09/2019 12:52

@PinkDaydreams there are gorgeous wellie socks in Jojo Maman Bebe, 2 for £12 or buy one get one free on Wellie liners which works out at £7 each....they are also offering a free book with every purchase of pyjamas....No free delivery though unless you spend £35 so may only be worth it if buying other stuff (unless you want a lot of socks)!
