Yes plenty of fluids is the best thing for colds/viruses. I'm lucky that I rarely ill can't even remember the last time I felt poorly apart from when I was in intensive care seven years ago Grin and a diabetes related issue recently but that was sorted pretty quickly. My dc seem to be past the stage of getting everything going too.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow as it's going to be bright and cold 🍂

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2019 16:04

Afternoon everyone Smile
Went to Cwmbran this morning , day off from Mum. Well deserved too Grin Bought a few bits for Christmas, Rose Jade roller for DD1 for Christmas. Lovely Nutcracker paper from Primark.
Poor Fluffy l hope you feel much better soon m'dear it really is no joke having to drag yourself into work Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2019 16:09

Got this today too 😁

I'm rarely ill too, Wreck. Not like this! And I know that if I did stop and actually have time off, I wouldn't be going anywhere other than the sofa!

I worked through my liver starting to fail with glandular fever too, so I'm not one to give in to illness really! 🙈😂

I'm generally quite stoic (see my shoulder for an example).

Good shopping spree, Mrs!

@Mrsmadevans this is probably silly of me..but how do you pronounce Cwmbran?. I have a jade roller and it’s a godsend..it makes me look half as tiredGrin

WreckTangled · 01/10/2019 17:38

Ds had one mouthful of butternut risotto and said it wasn't very nice but has just wolfed the whole bowl down Hmm Grin

FireflyGirl · 01/10/2019 17:46

I've got a stomach bug 😷

Felt rotten yesterday and Sunday but assumed it was from drinking on Saturday, but I've felt progressively worse today! I don't want to be off work again, but it's not fair if I go in tomorrow as I might pass it on (if I haven't already!)

Is the Nutcracker film from last year coming to Sky/Netflix etc this year? I really wanted to see it but just didn't get chance!

WreckTangled · 01/10/2019 17:48

On no hope you feel better soon! We have a 48 hour rule at work for d&v.

I forgot about that film, I hope it will be.

Is everyone going to go to the cinema to see the new Christmas film?

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2019 17:50

Oh god, Firefly! I'll budge up on the ill bench to make room! Hope you're better soon.

What Christmas film is that, Wreck?

WreckTangled · 01/10/2019 17:52

Couldn't remember the name but I just looked and it's called Last Christmas. Looks so good ie full of cheesy Christmas cheer

EmrysAtticus · 01/10/2019 18:01

Argh you are all germ ridden and I am holding my phone at arm's length to protect myself Grin

Maseandmum · 01/10/2019 18:07

Gosh you’re all in the wars!🤢.

@WreckTangled is that the one with the George Michael soundtrack?

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2019 18:08

It looks good, Wreck. I'm not sure I'd go to the cinema for it though.

Good idea, Emrys!

WreckTangled · 01/10/2019 18:25

Yes Mase

There's a cinema nearish that's only £5 a ticket

FireflyGirl · 01/10/2019 18:48

I have taken to my bed and am watching a Christmas film to cheer myself up.

DH is telling DS a 'made-up' story next door. There are space pirates... Grin

NerosFiddle · 01/10/2019 18:51

Firefly what film are you watching?

Looks like I won't be out of the cinema in December. I'll go see last Christmas and the dc will want to see frozen 2 and I nearly always go see It's a Wonderful Life.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2019 19:07

Our Vue is only £5 normally, so £2.50 with Meerkat! Not that I go. Mini Mornings only here.

I think I'll end up going to Frozen 2 as well, Neros.

I hate feeling nauseous. 🤢🤢🤢 It's like the drunken room spin on an almost-constant basis.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 01/10/2019 19:09

Mine won't want to see frozen thankfully!

FireflyGirl · 01/10/2019 19:17

'Christmas Inheritance'. I'm enjoying it so far, but I don't have high standards... Grin

DS is still a bit young for cinema. He wants to leave after about an hour.

FireflyGirl · 01/10/2019 19:21

M&S Christmas sausage rolls. Aldi will have to really pull the stops out to win me back this year Grin

Maseandmum · 01/10/2019 19:22

We’ll go to see Frozen 2 but that’s it..i like to stick to the classics.

@NoWordForFluffy I hate that feeling..you poor thing..it seems like you’re getting worseFlowers

CrazyBaubles · 01/10/2019 21:23

Mase Cwmbran is an odd one. The wm sound is like a cross between uh and oooh. So K-uh/ooh-m-bran.

I'm so sorry everyone is so ill. It's rubbish isn't it?
I have a scratchy throat so am drinking warm lemon squash with extra lemon slices and honey - hopefully this and rest keeps it at bay.

The weather is awful here - perfect weather for ducks as my Nan always said Xmas Smile 🦆

I am just trying to work out the best way to crochet reigns onto my reindeer bunting to join them together - desperate not to mess it up as this is the last stage.

Maseandmum · 01/10/2019 21:33

@CrazyBaubles thank youGrin..i keep reading it and in my head I just say ‘crumbrum’😂

No rain here..but was raining all day. The stream behind the house is so loud..its so full.

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2019 23:07
Can't stop to reply DH LURKIO but thought l would put you out of your misery Grin Hope you are better Fluffy Flowers
FireflyGirl · 02/10/2019 00:21

Well, 'Christmas Inheritance' was the best of the three I've watched so far... They all seem to have 'Canadian' in the description. Maybe it's because of the snow there...

My stomach is cramping, and I feel crappy, so I have decamped to the couch downstairs so I don't disturb DH, and made an interesting discovery.

DCats usually ignore and occasionally swipe each other (both only children before we inherited TCat when our friends emigrated), but I've found them asleep next to each other on the armchair! The secret is out!!
