Morning! Amazing night's sleep all round...I took a night medicine which knocked me out so I slept until 7.30 and the kids were asleep until almost-8. Unheard of that they both sleep late!

We're going to Dobbies today to look at the Christmas section. Should be fun!

Crazy sounds like you're having a brilliant time!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/09/2019 09:23

I am up and about after the Rocky Horror Show .
It was great fun, really good cast (the actor who played Rocky was really fit and did gymnastics on stage too) . Frank and the Narrator were brilliant , but everyone did a sterling role .

It has moved on subtly with age (the original film is from 1975 !) with the audience partici...............pation.
Most of the audience dressed up (hurrah Xmas Grin )

I wore a dress, fishnets, make-up and false eyelashes and some lace up heeled boots . All things I never do IRL Xmas Grin
I have a photo, if I can anonymise it a bit , I might put it up.

CrazyBaubles · 29/09/2019 10:21

Oh my poor head. For anyone who knows Belfast, please can you help me work out where we went? It was called Filthy something? We were watching a live band, walked passed the bar and ended up in an outdoor area. Went upstAirs to toilet, came out of them using a different exit and were suddenly in a nightclub with people who were 10 years younger than us 🙈
No idea where we were!

Wreck I can't remember where you're based (sorry, blame my fuzzy head). We've had a brilliant time, I would recommend a visit here to anyone.

Fluffy you're going to have such a nice festive day. I'm jealous

70 I've never seen the film or the show but love the idea of dressing up. Please post your pic if you can.

I am under a Duvet watching the Wales match with my friend who's in a worse state than I am 😂
I may drag her into town and see if we can find Christmas decorations...

Maseandmum · 29/09/2019 11:27

@CrazyBaubles sounds like you had a fab night🎉.

@NoWordForFluffy hurrah for a good nights sleep!..hopefully it will help mend your cold. Enjoy your festive day🎄

@70isaLimitNotaTarget it sounds amazing..back when I was in high school I did it for cabaret and had the time of my lifeGrin please post the picture if you can!

DS is still poorly..no sick but complaining of a bad belly. So it’s just snuggles on the sofa and watching some films today..i might try and sneak a Christmas film in thereGrin

NerosFiddle · 29/09/2019 12:03

Crazy did you go to filthy Mc nasty? No where in Belfast opens until 1 so I'd advice an Ulster fry in the Maggie mays then go for a hair of the dog.

70 I love rocky horror. Glad you had a good night.

We went to Aldi this morning. There's none in Northern Ireland so we went to RoI. Even with the euro rate and the cost of petrol it still worked out cheaper than tesco. I got some mince pies and lebkuchen.

CrazyBaubles · 29/09/2019 20:13

Neros yes that's it! I was convinced it was called Filthy something but my friend was adamant it was dirty something. It's been annoying the pair of us all day. Is it aimed at youngsters? I'm mid 30s and felt easily 10 years too old to be there not that it stopped us

I'm in the airport now and I feel vaguely human. I've treated myself to a Christmas mag because I'm feeling sorry for myself.

WreckTangled · 29/09/2019 20:21

Crazy I'm in the south of England. I hate being hung over, the older I get the more I feel like it's not working. Plus now I'm low carbing (to try and get better diabetes control) just a few drinks and I'm up being sick all night SadHmm

I've folded loads of washing and washed all the towels and bedding today after washing all the clothes yesterday. Ds has his second football game and they won 7-4 which is great considering one of the boys on his team went in goal and spent the whole time picking his nose Grin also went to my parents, made some low carb brownies and a batch of bolognese (meat and veggie for dd who has now decided she's vegetarian!). Phew! Really want to hoover but will leave it until morning.

Mrsmadevans · 29/09/2019 20:53

Evening everyone
So my sister has unfriended me on FB . I am surprised how hurt l am but the way my family treat me l should be immune to it by now . Hey ho!
Fluffy your day sounds lovely 😀
Crazy how brilliant is your hols it's fantastic 😀 so glad for you 😁
Hope Ds is better soon Mase poor baby
Ohh Nero is the mince pies and Lebuchen in Aldi already. It isn't in mine yet.
Wreck you have been busy m'dear Xmas Grin
Watched SCD , thought James would go bless him. He looked fitter this week at least 😁
Bought loads of Stationary from Mr T it was very bargainous 😀
Dd1 is coming along nicely with her driving bless her 💓

NerosFiddle · 29/09/2019 21:37

Mrs I'm sorry, I know how hurtful that can be Thanks
The mince pies have a short date on them 2 months so need to be ate immediately.

Wreck I'm the same can't handle being hungover at all. When I was at uni we used to start the night with a surf board. Which was 5 shots for a fiver. The thought of it now turns me.

Crazy I'm going to throw a spanner in the works now because there's another bar called the dirty onion.
I haven't been out out in Belfast for years, but glad you enjoyed it.

Maseandmum · 29/09/2019 21:38

@NerosFiddle no mince pies in our Aldi yet..lucky you!

@CrazyBaubles have a safe trip..sounds like you’ve had a blast!

@WreckTangled what a productive day..well done to your DS!⚽️

@Mrsmadevans I’m sorry to hear about your sisterFlowers what a horrible thing to do!. Thank you for your well wishes for DS❤️

DM, Dsis2 and DGM came for tea today..DF and Dsis1 stayed back to go to her football match. DS is doing better..no sick but still feeling poorly and has a high temp..DH will stay with him tomorrow and then hopefully he’s back into nursery and feeling himself by Tuesday.

We’re applying for his primary school soon..i’m not coping very well...he does school hours in nursery anyway..but it feels like such a big step👨🏻‍🎓

NerosFiddle · 29/09/2019 21:57

@Maseandmum we apply for nursery in January too for Ds.

I was in M&S yesterday and no mince pie Irish cream just trifle. I don't actually like Baileys et al but I like the sound of a mince pie one.

Maseandmum · 30/09/2019 00:12

@NerosFiddle good luck!..I love a good baileys on Christmas night🥃

DS just woke up with the trots..i’ve put a pull up on him for tonight and kept him in our bed. I’ve planned all our Christmas presents this year now..i must say I’m proud of myself they’re very very naiceGrin.

Had a nightmare and now can't get back to sleep.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2019 06:20

Morning!

Sorry you had a nightmare, Neros. I'm really not well: shivery and aching. Not good. But no sick pay, so have to crawl in. I've had a Lemsip and a dissolvable vitamin tablet, so I've got my fluid levels up if nothing else!

Need to get more night time medicine today; it's really good stuff. And have an early night again tonight. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 30/09/2019 06:54

No sick pay Shock that's cruel. I even get paid when the dc are sick. Very lucky, I know.

Mrs that's horrible Thanks

Neros nightmares are the worst.

Work today will be another quiet day. I just want this week to hurry up as the job I applied for closed next Monday 🤞🏼

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2019 06:58

No sick pay is pretty standard in the private sector!

I hate waiting, Wreck.

EmrysAtticus · 30/09/2019 07:03

Sorry to hear about your sister Mrs :(

Should have my third decoration finished by the end of today.

Mrsmadevans · 30/09/2019 08:23

Morning 🌞
Fluffy ahhh bless you sweetheart 😘 , take it as easy as you can 💐hope you are better soon 🤗
Mase thank you re Sister it hurts 😭 hope Ds is better today bless him 💐
Em well done with your decs they are gorgeous and thank you 🤗. I know , it's a huge relief to be paid sick pay , it's bad enough being I'll let alone be no money . The good old NHS is good for job security tbf 😁
Nero , nightmares are horrible 💐 l had terrible ones when l was going through the menopause. It was always a man behind the bedroom door with a massive ..... Dagger 😂
Off to Mum's for much of the same , Drs , Boots for flu jab , dentist & window firm for them to look at the locks 🙄
Have a good day everyone 😀

Maseandmum · 30/09/2019 10:00

@NerosFiddle sorry you had a nightmare..i hate the things!

@NoWordForFluffy a good nights sleep will hopefully do the trick..just dose yourself up on tablets and try and power through the dayFlowers

@Mrsmadevans it’s horrible when family hurts you..my DParents weren’t very good to me when I was younger and even though I always expected it..it still hurt when they let me downFlowers.

DS is doing okay according to DH..no sick again but still has a temp and has been sleeping most of the day and still has the trots. On a brighter note..my Dsis1 was picked up yesterday at football by a much bigger team. I’m very proudSmile

CrazyBaubles · 30/09/2019 11:07

Fluffy I didn't realise companies were allowed to say they won't provide sick pay, that's seems so unfair (I'm private sector for a large firm and we get sick pay).

Neros having nightmares are awful, I hope you got some rest.
BTW, it was Filthys we went to.

MrsMad how did you find out about your sister? I'm so sorry, she sounds a very difficult person.

Emrys please post a pic when you're done!

Well done to your DSIS mase

I am in work and struggling. My flight was delayed by quite a bit so I got home at 2am and started work at 8. My manager has taken pity on me so I'm going home when my meeting finishes at 1:30. I'm so tired I can barely function as I didn't sleep properly Sat either 😴

DH won't be home until 4:30 at least so I may treat myself to a cwtch on the sofa with the dogs and a (Christmas) film which I'll fall asleep and miss

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2019 13:51

They only have to pay SSP, which is 3 days with no pay, then about £80-ish a week after that. So that's what we get! Generous, eh?!

I hope you get good sleep tonight, Crazy.

There's so many of us ill at work. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic! 😂

Just booked our Aviemore Santa steam train tickets. Woooo!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 30/09/2019 14:15

Isn't it odd how you can assume things - I would have assumed as you work in law (please tell me my memory is correct!) and to me that's a business that makes a lot of money that sick pay / benefits would be generous.
I know in our place you are entitled to pay for short term and long term sickness - I think short term is for a week then it goes to ssp and long term depends on how long you've worked there. Seems very generous now I think about it!

Our work place is like yours for sickness though Fluffy - so many coughs / colds everywhere. That + air conditioned offices + a lot of people who work across different sites and it's guaranteed to spread to just about everyone 🤧

I'm home, just making myself a cuppa before settling down 😴

ChristmasInJuly · 30/09/2019 16:18

Well September can fuck off, if you’ll pardon my French. I usually love it, it’s my birthday month, Autumn is in the air, lots of sunshine etc. But I’ve had DD to the dr last week with a weird reaction to a virus, DS is there later with a suspected chest infection - and I had a mad dash there today with cellulitis! Being treated with double doses of antibiotics because you could see the infection spreading up a vein in my leg!

So bring on October tomorrow! They say these things come in threes, so I’m hoping that’s our lot!

Christmas-wise I’ve got the 1st Dec boxes done (we do those instead of Christmas Eve boxes so they get their wear out of their festive PJs!) JoJo Maman Bebe have got their lovely red tartan PJs out now. Bought Olaf’s Frozen Adventure on DVD so will add some chocolate coins nearer the time, and done.
