Love the dinosaurs. We don't have a JL here but I might take a sneak peak when I'm on my trip away.

Woolly, swine flu was just awful. I'm sorry you had to endure it too.

EmrysAtticus · 27/09/2019 16:07

Ooh JL looks gorgeous!

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2019 17:37

Ouch, Mrs! Cracking bruises!

I'll let you know what the kids think about the dinos when I'm home!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 27/09/2019 17:39

Oh thanks Mrs! Will they have another one before Christmas do you think? If not maybe I could go Friday, they'll last won't they?

Mrsmadevans · 27/09/2019 17:45

Wreck they normally do another at half term. I am going to hold off til then m'dear Grin
Fluffy I do love the sweet owl and the silver bauble but the dinos will be the best for the DC . l haven't seen any dino decs before ever Grin
I can't wait to see DD2 to see what she bought for me Xmas Grin

CrazyBaubles · 28/09/2019 00:21

🎄 88 🎄

Hello from lovely Belfast. I'm tipsy so won't post too much.

Thank you for the help Neros - we went to the Duke of York tonight which was good fun. Tomorrow we Plan to go to the rooftop bar you mentioned (I can't remember the name right now, sorry)!

I can't believe how polite everyone has been so far - a lovely group of teenage school boys stood in the rain earlier so we could get on first - have never seen that happen at home!

Fluffy lovely decs 🎄 Ouch about the cost though!
Will recommend the Dino ones to my cousin - her 3 year old is obsessed with his "Dino-roars" Xmas Smile

Those of you who have flu jabs - is there anything I need to know? I've been offered them for the last 2 years as a health issue apparently makes me vulnerable but I've never taken them up on it. Considering actually organising myself and getting it this year!

FireflyGirl · 28/09/2019 07:05

Morning!

Wet and dismal here today.

Glad you're having a good time Crazy.

I'm getting the train to Leeds with my friends at lunchtime to go daytime drinking, then getting the last train home. I'm so excited - because I was ill, I haven't been out since May! 🍸 🍸

Fluffy I love those Christmas dinosaurs! We don't have a John Lewis, but Leeds does...

DH works for the NHS so he gets the flu jab every year, and he had swine flu twice, and then normal flu last year despite being vaccinated. I've only ever had the jab once when I was pregnant, and have never had flu, but I make sure DS gets vaccinated.

EmrysAtticus · 28/09/2019 07:17

Glad you are having fun crazy :) when I worked for the NHS I always had the flu jab and had no issues with it and have never had flu just bad colds. DS had it last year and was also fine.

Very wet here too. Going to take DS to the cinema in Cwmbran as they show children's tv programmes on the big screen which DS loves. We are on our own today as DH is in Manchester.

Looking forward to Strictly tonight :)

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 08:25

Morning! I still feel rough. 😷 I've had a Lemsip (blag version!) so will hopefully perk up soon. Though it took 2 of them to stop me hurting yesterday!

Sounds like you're having a lovely time, Crazy. I ❤️ Belfast.

I've only had the flu jab when pregnant. The kids have it every year. I might pay this year as it's predicted to be bad.

NerosFiddle · 28/09/2019 08:41

Crazy I'm glad you are enjoying Belfast.

I paid for the flu jag yesterday in boots. I am entitled to get it free for health reasons but I always just pay for it for convenience.

I'm off to do a bit of shopping now. I'll get in and out before the Saturday crowds start.

WreckTangled · 28/09/2019 09:32

Neros over here if you're entitled to have it on the nhs then the pharmacy will still give it for free. I'm entitled through work and through a health condition.

It's quite bright here and breezy I'm not up for much today though tbh. Might cook some bacon.

I've never been to anywhere in Ireland despite my grandad being Irish, I could get an Irish passport if I wanted but would be £££

EmrysAtticus · 28/09/2019 09:36

Just walked through proper torrential rain to the train station to find our train was cancelled! So then had to walk to the bus station. On the bus now though :)

EmrysAtticus · 28/09/2019 09:44

Train cancelled as someone hit just outside Cwmbran. How utterly awful :(

Mrsmadevans · 28/09/2019 14:38

Just looked at the news now Em very sad , no suspicious circumstances, poor thing must have been in the most awful state mentally. It has poured here too , sun out now though Smile hope you and DS enjoyed the pictures Smile
Been to Mum's she has been awful today. She wouldn't come and have a shower before a visitor came. She wanted to be on the phone ringing people. I am not being funny but the visitor was coming at 11 and this was not urgent phone calls, this was her being horrible. At quarter to 11 l said 'come on Mum you can ring later'. She said ' HE WILL HAVE TO WAIT!' l said to her, 'Mum that isn't very nice of you , he is kind enough to come every week, you wouldn't like it if he did that to you '. She was really acting like a spoilt child. It has really made me feel meh tbh. Anyway that's my awful morning Hmm
I suppose l feel trodden on tbh Hmm
Fluffy hope you feel better soon m'dear Flowers SCD on tonight l can't wait Grin
Have a lovely shopping trip Nero , l am having my flu jag on Monday , Smile taking Mum as well.
Wreck, you lucky thing being able to get an Irish passport Smile l know you don't want it now but if you wanted to you have the option open to you Smile
Crazy it sounds as if you are having a brilliant time Enjoy !! Grin

Maseandmum · 28/09/2019 16:40

There’s a JL in town..I will look in on Monday. It looks gorge. i really like the campfire baubles.

@FireflyGirl enjoy your day outWine

@CrazyBaubles i’m glad you’re enjoying Belfast. How sweet of them boys standing in the rain for you🌧

@NoWordForFluffy i hope you start to feel better soon..lemsip never works for meBrew

@EmrysAtticus oh lord how sadSad

@Mrsmadevans sorry about your mum, lovely..i hope that you can have a nice evening and have an unwind❤️

DS will have the nasal flu spray next week..I don’t get it done..i suppose I should as I have a weak immune system.

It was dry and sunny this morning..but is grey and windy now..rain forecast for the rest of the night. We went to see MIL this afternoon and DS was sick just as we got there..it might be travel sickness as I had it around his age..he’s tucked up in her bed now..will be heading home soon.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 18:41

Lemsip works in that the paracetamol eases any headache. I'm not sure what else it does? 😂

My throat is a bit sore still, but I've been to Iceland, Home Bargains and the petrol station today and tidied the garden a bit. It's been neglected this year really.

I made pumpkin and sweet potato soup earlier. 😋😋

WreckTangled · 28/09/2019 18:43

It has a mild decongestant in too. I think it's just like having a hug and someone saying 'there there' Grin

Mrs I would get one if I could afford it!

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 18:45

Yes, Wreck! Grin

I'm not bunged up, just in pain and achey, so the hug works!

OP posts:
Maseandmum · 28/09/2019 18:51

DH swears by the honey and ginger drink..but it doesn’t relieve anything for me..some good old fashioned honey and lemon with a bit of brandy is what works for meGrin.

@NoWordForFluffy how autumnal..I love pumpkin soup. I should go pumpkin picking soon..🎃

@WreckTangled my DGP are Irish too..i used to go as a child..i’d Love to take DS there one day.

Finally home (I saw finally..but we only live about 5 mins from DMIL). DS is still feeling rubbish..i think it might be a bit of a bug..so he’s in bed😴. Bath time and a book and then bed for me too. DM and DGM were due to come over tomorrow but will tell them not to is DS is still poorly🤢

NerosFiddle · 28/09/2019 18:55

Wreck is it dear? I've got an Irish passport because I'm automatically entitled to it because I was born here. It's more or less the same cost as a British one. I don't know if you have to prove anything more than having your grandfathers birth certificate. I am in no way an expert though.

I'll have to watch SCD tomorrow on iPlayer as my iPad has died and dh is playing the PS4.

Shopping went well today. I've got DS birthday sorted, and both dc Christmas sorted. Also got 2 of my dn done and started dm. All I have to get now is dh, df, fil, brother and sis.

NerosFiddle · 28/09/2019 18:58

Mase I had a wee nip of brandy today to keep away any germs.

WreckTangled · 28/09/2019 19:10

I'd have to apply to be on the foreign births registration and that's €278 plus need grandads birth certificate and then cost of passport

Maseandmum · 28/09/2019 19:42

@NerosFiddle lord you’re organised!!..i’ve got DH and DS sorted but haven’t the foggiest for anyone else. This year I will only be buying for DM, DF, Dsis1, Dsis2, DGP, DMIL, DSFIL, DFIL, DSMIL, DSil. I have 7 GP so that will cost a lotGrin. And I don’t blame you with the brandy..it perks me right upGrin.

DS has just woke up being sick all over his bed..so he definitely has a dicky tummy. He’s downstairs with DH now whilst I change his sheets (he has a mid sleeper..it’s a nightmare to change).

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 20:14

Just started SCD...always on delay!

I was just putting DS to bed when the bloody fireworks started (British Musical Fireworks Championships). Thankfully he was too knackered to be disturbed by them!

I will check in properly tomorrow but I have to say, Belfast is lovely. We've don't some touristy stuff today and are out drinking cocktails right now. Neros we are in The Perch and it's lovely. Lovely, cocktails and dancing (although hardly anyone is dancing with us Hmm).

Like I said, everyone has been lovely. We fell into a bar today which I think was a student bar? Called Kuckoo or something? It has vintage dance star, pac man and mario and even there the students asked if we wanted to play the games and gave us their free shots (apparently you get them for beating the barman at Paper Scissors Stone 😂😂).
