Morning! It's properly chucking it down here; it woke us up! It wasn't forecast until later. 🤷‍♀️

Strictly was great. A 32!!! Amazing stuff.

I think we have very different taste in TV, Carys. Ru Paul is certainly something I'd never watch in a million years. Maybe two million! 😂😂

I loved the sound of rain in the night :)

The standard on Strictly last night was crazy!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/09/2019 08:58

I've never watched Strictly ............. so I have no clue Xmas Grin

Rain here and someone has a bonfire going so it smells Autumnal.

I was at an Open Day with DD yesterday ( potential University) exciting times !

EmrysAtticus · 22/09/2019 09:05

I think you will have to resign from the thread 70 Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 22/09/2019 09:08

Bloody hell, 70, how have you kept that a secret from us until now?!

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/09/2019 09:10

But in my defence , I used to watch "Dancing on Ice"

(Plea bargaining here )

FireflyGirl · 22/09/2019 09:27

I'll have to leave with you, 70.

It's not that I don't like it, we just don't really watch terrestrial TV. We'll tend to just watch a boxset on Netflix or similar. I'm currently re-watching Buffy.

I have seen bits of Ru Paul's Drag Race. Spoiler it's not about drag racing Grin. Too much bitchiness for me - the nice ones never win! Plus they all have nicer legs than I do, and are better at makeup

No rain here - it's a glorious 19 degrees already! We are forecast thunderstorms this afternoon, though...

CarysRed · 22/09/2019 09:47

Fluffy it was incredible wasn’t it!. I couldn’t believe the high scores. I love Ru Paul😂, I must say I don’t like the last seasons that much but I got hooked on the first one because it’s just crazy. It’s the challenges I enjoy, not so much the actual runway.

70 did your DD like the Uni?

Firefly I have to agree with you there. I don’t think I’ve ever had someone I like win. But it’s still hilarious.

There was terrible rain here last night, but it was still really hot. It looks like it’s becoming the start of Autumn now.

I had terrible sleep again, back cramps again and hip pains.

DP’s sister is off to uni again so everyone’s going down to see her off. DP doesn’t drive so I’ll be the one driving, but I think we will both end up not going. I’m in agony now with my hips and I don’t want to have to sit down for an hour and half, especially in the rain and at 35 weeks pregnant. It’ll end up causing a ruckus with DP’s family though.

It's GBBO, Strictly and the start of the -ber months...the countdown to Christmas 2019 is officially ON (thread 5)!
WreckTangled · 22/09/2019 09:53

I'm taking dd to an ancient farm today as they've got an event relevant to her topic at school. Rain forecast 🙄 I've made soup to take with me for lunch

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/09/2019 10:35

Carys yes she did Xmas Grin
We're going to another Open Day in a couple of weeks too.
She can apply to 5 Universities I think .

sueH1983 · 22/09/2019 10:53

I don’t watch Strictly either. Or X factor. Or BGT.

Hangs head in shame

CrazyBaubles · 22/09/2019 10:57

I've never watch Drag Race, and I watch Strictly sporadically at best. Even worse - I refuse to watch it live as I fast forward everything except the actual dancing (commentary, the videos of them practising, even the scores).

Is your DD looking at unis relatively close to home 70?

Carys is DPs sister going to a uni far away? I don't remember anyone except parents and DH (then a newish boyfriend) seeing me off!

I hid from the hot weather yesterday by going to the cinema with dm. Loved the Downton film but watching it on a hot sunny day get weird.
Loving the weather today (from the comfort of my sofa) - very festive. DH is out all day so I'm doing some light housework and crafting

NoWordForFluffy · 22/09/2019 11:13

I don't watch anything other than Strictly on the celeb / talent / reality front. Far too much shit on TV! 😂😂

OP posts:
CarysRed · 22/09/2019 12:32

Wreck I hope the rain isn’t too bad for you. Soup sounds lovely though.

70 I’m glad she liked it. I didn’t go to uni but DP did and I remember how stressed everyone got when he was applying.

Crazy she’s about an hour and half away from DP and I and MIL, but about 20 mins away from FIL. Its not even her first year, she’s older than DP, but had a while off going to uni to do some work and then started later. But family are insisting that we all see her off and make it a family day. I’ve said I’m not going.
I’m glad you liked the downton film! I’ve missed watching the characters so I loved it.

Since the plans are cancelled it’s a day in for me. I’m liking the rain so i’ll Probably watch a film and then order takeaway for tea tonight because we’d put money aside for a meal out today with SIL.

FireflyGirl · 22/09/2019 13:24

Still very muggy here, but the sky is starting to get cloudy.

Carys I don't blame you! That's a long way to go when you're that pregnant, never mind that you would have to drive!

How's the farm Wreck?

CarysRed · 22/09/2019 13:41

Firefly to be fair to DP he thinks it’s stupid too. If it was her first year I’d be a bit more inclined to see her off, but it’s not. I’m enjoying my cosy day in anyway!.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/09/2019 13:56

I think she'll be concentrating on London Universities (My DS goes to UEL Stratford and travels in )

UEL does the course she wants (Law) , we were at the University of Law yesterday and she really liked it .
I remember when DS was looking they said "Can you see yourself here" which he did . And he's happy there .(And I think he likes living at home , though he only claims to stay because we don't charge him rent Xmas Wink )
It is a huge jump for them, she's still got Yr 13 to finish so we're still in the searching stage .

She also said she cannot leave home because she'll miss the cats . Not miss me you notice , just the cats Xmas Grin . (I suppose I should be glad she's independant )
