Off up in Mum's see you LTR 😁

Bapman · 13/09/2019 09:37

Fluffy it was so autumnal walking to school today. I’m loving it!. We have a log fire so I’m excited for it to get cold enough for me to put that on as I usually wait until November time. My DH likes sleeping with the window open, I end up sleeping with loads of blankets on me to counteract the chill😂.

I met my neighbour on the way to school and we’ve gone for a coffee in the cafe with the babies. Now back home and I’ll give the house a clean whilst DS naps. Chippy tea for dinner tonight as it’s Friday but I have stew and shepherds pie planned for next week. The autumn meals are well and truly happening!!.

I found this!

Gorgeous day here today :) going to plant my spring bulbs this weekend, will be something positive for after Christmas.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/09/2019 13:58

Stunning here. I had a lovely walk along the Mersey at lunch time. Good day for going on the wheel!

Beautiful here too 😄 hope you enjoyed your walk Fluffy 😊
Great spot Wreck 😊 looks a great mag
Had to get the Dr to see to Mum. She wasn't well when we arrived . Her legs were running with fluid from the cellulitis. District nurses came and dressed them both for her. Off to see my niece in Redditch who lost her husband 😭
Have a lovely afternoon everyone make the most of it 🤗

BiddyPop · 13/09/2019 16:20

Mad, mad week here.
Lots to do at work. But making good progress on those mountains of paper.
Lots to do at home - but cleaners were in, DPs not staying this weekend after all, and some hotspots tackled.
Lots to do for sailing and Scouts - but set a couple of things in train so reasonable progress on both, I just need to send an email to parents tonight about Scouts, and a WhatsApp to a couple of leaders to cover a session when I can't, and that should be ok for the moment.

But worst of all, announcement last Friday of promotion competition at work. So working on that form (draft 1 completed this afternoon, deadline Monday week), and bigger promotion competition announced this afternoon (1st was internal in my Department, 2nd is InterDepartmental across all Govt Depts), so a 2nd set of forms to fill in.

One competition needs a presentation on "solutions to a problem you see facing the Dept), the 2nd involves a written exam.....and then both have at least 2 rounds of interviews, even if you pass the various shortlisting processes in both.

I will need some seriously festive Gin or similar by the time they are done! (Cos I reckon 1 might be finished by Halloween, the 2nd might be just before Christmas if I am very lucky!).

In other news, Choir at work got restarted this week - we are learning "Royals" by Lorde, which is difficult but nice. And a good distraction for 1 lunch-hour every week!

Oh, sun is shining. Grin And I know we are getting takeaway tonight! Grin

Ok, email to Cub parents, and then I can think about checking in for my flight Sunday, and grabbing the rest of my papers.....

Bapman · 13/09/2019 16:24

It’s sunny but chilly here!. We have a busy weekend ahead. We’re going to the Black Country Museum tomorrow and then to my nans for Sunday lunch on Sunday. She’ll have everyone around so there will be 10 kids and 9 adults. It’s going to be crazy!

BiddyPop · 13/09/2019 16:26

Fluffy DD has had adjustment issues and tiredness issues as well - but things are much more settled this week and we are working on getting early nights when we can! Its hard though to not react badly to them when they are not behaving as you expect them to.

MrsMad sorry to hear your DM is not well again, hopefully her legs will ease again with the bandages and meds.

Welcome Bapman, I love hearing the nice things that people get up to especially with small DCs in tow. Your autumn meals sound good (we had shepherd's pie earlier this week already!).

Wreck, I'm looking forward to seeing what you got when I check the board on the ipad (work blocks most photos, and yours fell foul Sad).

And hi to everyone else I've missed.

WreckTangled · 13/09/2019 17:28

Biddy I didn't buy it Grin too poor so just took a photo Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 13/09/2019 17:38

Biddy, I get tired reading your updates!

Good luck with the jobs; which one do you want?

At least it's not just my two kids playing up. They've been waking up early too. It's daft. But we think we remember them doing this last year too!

Wreck, I bought that one a couple of weeks' ago. It's great. I'm going to make the vegan chocolate orange biscuits from it. And the biscuits for cheese.

Mrs, sorry your mum isn't well. I hope she improves soon. And Flowers for your visit to your niece.

I can believe how warm it's been today. Autumn this morning, summer from lunch time!

Emrys, I have more bulbs coming soon. I ordered a load from Gardeners' World magazine for a good price, then I'm getting some free tulip bulbs with a couple of bramley apple trees I ordered. Not sure where they're going yet though. We shall see!

Oh, this is where I got up to last night. French knots tonight on the trees, and them I'm done on this bit!

I think I’d like to stay in the Dept, could end up anywhere in the city if I get the other. But theoretically they are the same job, just different issues on the desk and different people (and their quirks) at the head of Dept level 🤪. But some Depts are definitely more difficult that others...

EmrysAtticus · 13/09/2019 20:58

Finally finished the second one! Onto the third tomorrow :)

FireflyGirl · 13/09/2019 23:03

Glad your DM is doing better MrsM.

Think I might treat myself to that magazine, Wreck. Especially as Fluffy has endorsed it!

Those are beautiful, Emrys. Such a lot of love gone into them!

Good luck with your applications, Biddy.

11 degrees this morning, it was definitely autumnal. Then this afternoon it was 21, and I was considering taking my tights off at work!

I like this time of year, the lead up to autumn/Christmas. But I like the summer as well, lazy sunny days. And spring, when everything starts growing again. So, in summary, I don't care much for January and February, but I like the rest of the year Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2019 06:47

Morning!

Firefly, if my dress hadn't been so short yesterday (dress down) I'd have taken my tights off too! As it was, I maintained decency. Grin

Meant to be nice here today, so we shall see. It's sorting and tidying day today. Though DS has said he doesn't want to go to the in-laws, so I think they'll just be banished while we do the wrapping and can come back for the sorting and tidying!

And I'm about the same for the months I like, Firefly. I love the changing seasons, but not the dank months! 😂

I started the bottom third of the cross stitch last night. Didn't get very far though as somebody came to collect a bed I sold (it sold really fast, I was very pleased, and we got a good price for it, so a win!) quite late on. And I went wrong with spacing too. Not hugely; easily fixed, but it slowed me down!

Oh, and yes, Mrs. I think one on the new plot at least, if not both!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2019 07:34

Oh my god, it's bloody cold out there! I've just hung the washing out and it's got a proper chill to the air. The air is damp too.

The geese are out in force today too. I love hearing / watching them.

Autumn is definitely here!

We have been out in the freezing morning trying to find DCat. No sign yet :( Hoping she has just got into someone's house and when they get up she will reappear.

WreckTangled · 14/09/2019 07:50

Our garden chair was steaming in the sun this morning 😁 Ds is having ready brek. I'm trying not to feel too autumnal because it's going to be really warm here today and tomorrow. I'm longing for crisp mornings and crunchy leaves though!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2019 07:59

I hope your cat appears soon, Emrys.

Wreck, the temperature is rather diverse at the moment, isn't it? It's gorgeous and sunny here!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 14/09/2019 08:04

Emrys when we couldn't find our cat it turned out he had got shut in next doors play house! Serves him right for thinking he owns the village Grin he's as long as my leg so it sure how they missed him!
