Jingle those bells because it’s time for thread 1!

The aim of this thread is to share ideas for Christmas bargains and present ideas and a little bit of Christmas chat etc. I’ll try my best to do a post with the most popular links, if there’s anything specific you’d like me to add or if something I’ve put up doesn’t work please let me know in bold . Thank you

As usual no affiliate links (I’m still not exactly sure what they are but consensus was not to have them) and if we have any sites to post personal sign up links we’ll do this on a separate thread so all can post their links, I’ll do this when —I get around to it— soon.

@SmallAndFarAway most UK companies don't ship to us but sofare Amazon does and even with delivery cost they are still often cheaper than national companies. And then adding the low value of the £ gives us then the option to save aleven more... but yeah better get all in order regarding gifts bought abroad in early October this year

practicalmagick · 25/08/2019 21:17

@Someaddedsugar We have the Melissa & Doug tool box - my nearly two year old loves it. Loads of stuff to connect together and pull apart.

whatwillicallmyself · 25/08/2019 21:19

@SmallAndFarAway where are you ? I have checked the list and it is still available in 8 of the stores around Ireland, I am collecting mine in Arklow tomorrow it isn't showing as having anymore but I can check for you when I am there.

practicalmagick · 25/08/2019 21:19

p.s. I am new to this thread but I am LOVING IT already!

torthecatlady · 25/08/2019 21:32

It took all of my willpower not to buy the Spode Christmas crockery last year and same again. It looks so lovely and festive but I'd be too sad to put them away in January!

NoWordForFluffy · 25/08/2019 21:34

Our Christmas doormat is still in situ! 🙈🎅🏻🎄

MeanMrMustardSeed · 25/08/2019 21:54

Thank you - just bought the Ninjago ship from Argos for DS(9)

Looking4wards · 25/08/2019 22:07

Has anyone come across cheap Brio trains or trains compatible with Brio tracks? We have a load of tracks, but no trains.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/08/2019 22:09

Have you looked at Big Jigs? Their stuff is ace.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 25/08/2019 22:21

@Looking4wards I've found most trains are compatible- ikea, tesco etc. There's always loads on sale on our local fb marketplace may be worth looking on there

torthecatlady · 25/08/2019 22:25

@NoWordForFluffy Grin That is amazing. I hope it's really Christmassy!

Looking4wards · 25/08/2019 22:28

@AndddddHerewegoagain Thanks for the tip. I've been keeping an eye on my local FB market place. Fingers crossed something comes up.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 25/08/2019 22:44

Ikea ones are £4 for an engine and 2 carriages if you have one near you x

sideorderofchips · 25/08/2019 22:45

@Luxplus where are you?

Barbarara · 25/08/2019 22:45

I’ve ordered from amazon.fr and amazon.de before. The formula is similar to amazon uk so I barely even needed google translate. I imagine I’ll be using them more after October.

Priceonline .eu compares prices across different amazons and Brickset compares prices of lego sets across amazons.

Barbarara · 25/08/2019 22:47

Meant to say that I am in Ireland.

Barbarara · 25/08/2019 22:53

santasacks have an early bird offer sacks for £5 each (£19.95 rrp) while stocks last with code MERRY500 and Christmas Eve boxes for £11 (£22 rrp) with code BOX19

I have their sacks and they’re lovely.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 25/08/2019 23:26

@imsorryiasked wow thanks, some in the collection that I've not even seen before and we've had it longer than I care to admit Xmas GrinXmas Wink still looks good as new though and ours goes in the dishwasher

We use it for whole of festive period rather than just Christmas dinner, so it's in use 5/52? of the year which isn't as bad as most people's decorations, it makes the most boring of meals feel festive

Ewock · 25/08/2019 23:41

MeanMrMustardSeed I've tried a few different places on Argos to get the Ninjago boat but they don't have it in stock or for delivery. Do you mind me asking where you are? looked at differnt places thinking I could get a friend/family to pick it up for me.

Ewock · 25/08/2019 23:42

Sorry meant if it was anywhere near a friend I could order it and get them to pick it up for me.

WatchoutfortheROUS · 26/08/2019 00:17

Ewock it's available all over Cornwall if that helps

MooPointCowsOpinion · 26/08/2019 00:32

Thanks @NoWordForFluffy I have found the perfect outdoor reindeers from WeRChristmas thanks to you! So excited to finally have a house front worthy of them!

Ewock · 26/08/2019 00:48

Thanks we have some friends in Cornwall so I'll have a look.

Betsy86 · 26/08/2019 01:51

@Barbarara thanks for the sack code i managed to order a couple of them. Missed out last year!
Hoping the stockings might go down they did for Black Friday last year so I’ll be keping an eye on that. Thanks again x

Luxplus · 26/08/2019 05:08
