Afternoon!

In the absence of @SideOrderofChips (I hope you don't mind me jumping in, Chips Flowers ), here's the first bargain prequel thread of this year.

Use this thread to post any bargains you may have until @Reastie comes back in a few months' time! Xmas Grin

reastie I have bought toiletries and bits from lookfantastic.com. I always compare with John Lewis and amazon and will only buy if it's cheaper. I'm sure we'll get emails from Molton Brown at some point in the summer when they have an offer.

@PastaSauceHoarder thank you for the link! Let me know if you receive it ok, I’m a bit dubious ordering from sites I haven’t heard of.

@Reastie you poor thing. I feel your pain though - it’s a long nine months when you feel like that.

Thanks mcA.

Stealth I use that site when they have a good code to stock up on keraste stuff, you can get some good reductions at times.

Talking thanks, it feels like forever I’ve been pg. I want to have a normal life again! Even life with a baby has got to be better than being housebound with nausea.

Thinking about going through my present cupboard next week and planning some Christmas presents already so I can have a list to make sure I don’t buy for anyone I have something for already. I’m terrible for that!

Reastie I think the best present ever on these threads was the liberty scarf. It was such a bargain and mil loved it. Would be fantastic to find another site like the liberty outlet site.

Hello, my people!
DH and I were bed shopping today and I think I'm getting one with ottoman storage so I can put Christmas bargains in it all year round.
:)

Hello @TheGirlWhoLived

I knew it was you as soon as I saw your name. :) How are things?
It's been a good year so far but GCSE season has hit chez impossible so we're having a very quiet May/June.
Looking forward to spending time on these threads- how many did we hit last year?

FireflyGirl · 11/05/2019 07:05

16 on the main thread, impossible. It's still pootling along somewhere.

Think that was quite a slow year. Maybe less chat than normal?

What is the liberty outlet site please? Naturally a Google search hasn't been forthcoming 😂

Very specific bargain - but if anyone is looking for a MacBook John Lewis has the 2017 MacBook Air at £779 with a 2 year guarantee and 18 months interest free credit . (Was £799 yesterday and is £949 on Apple)
Currently procrastinating about buying one for 12 year old Dd.

wooglecone I don't know if it still exists but about 4 or 5 years ago they had a very plain, almost non-branded site on eBay and we all bought genuine scarfs for £10 that were really popular and an incredible bargain. I'll have a look.

Stealth I got one for mil. It was an eBay liberty outlet but not sure if it still exists.

Nearlyadoctor MacBooks are very rarely reduced!

@StealthNinjaMum... I had to reregister just to reply... that liberty scarf was meeeee :-) I found the eBay Liberty of London outlet by chance as I had a generic eBay alert on for new scarves for them. Unfortunately, the store only did it a few times and the account hasn’t been active for years now. I remember calling the store to verify that was actually them on eBay before I posted the link and they laughed and said yes, they were cleaning old stock from their warehouse.

My biggest bargain was when Letterbox was going out of business and I got LeVan doll house furniture for 50 and then 75% off.

Clearing not cleaning

Report
StealthNinjaMum · 11/05/2019 11:11

Thank you LazyDaisey ! I actually felt bad and mentioned it to reastie at the time because it seemed so expensive and mil was so pleased with it! I remember that Christmas day she spent hours looking at the detail on the pattern - and I spent hours thinking 'shit I hope it isn't a second and she's not going to find a fault!'

Anyway I'm sorry for derailing the thread!

Liberty ebay page

I book marked it (saddo) but don't think there has been anything on it recently. It's worth checking though.

Thanks everyone, looks like they haven't sold anything in over a year though :(

Hopefully their warehouse gets too full again soon! Although I'll need a box to keep all bargains in stealth ;)

I tried to post this on the other thread butit didn't seem to post. But anyway, not exactly a bargain but funko pop are releasing pokemon characters throughout the year. So far only bulbasaur is available and charmander will be this month. However they are not available in the UK, only the US, but, with the wonders of the internet and an Amazon prime account, I've managed to order both for about £12.21 each including delivery from Amazon.com.

I'm on the lookout for a bargain Nintendo switch this year as we've decided that will be a main joint present for all the family

Some quite good bargains on Hype site, just bought Dd a t shirt for her birthday next month £9 - free delivery if you’ve not ordered from them before or sign up with a new email address.

Stealth my mil wasn’t nearly as appreciative of her liberty scarf. I saw her wear it a couple of times soon after and then never since! You can’t please them all.
