If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

Cish hope you're okay, Mrs hope your dad's okay. FlowersFlowers

I've just had eggs and bacon, a banana and a coffee. 😋🍳🍌Brew

CrazyBaubles · 29/01/2019 10:28

Wheels We have a weather warning for snow / ice but I doubt it'll come to much where I live. I hope you're wrapped up warm (or is it still the middle of the night there?) I must get my head around the time difference!
Such a sweet idea to give stray cats a bed. We did similar for birds in the mad snow we had last March - I turned some buckets on their side and put in water and some bird seed / nuts. Brought a lot of lovely feathery visitors to our garden.

Fluffy don't shatter my vision of what you do. I have a Law & Order type phone argument in my head for your conference call Grin

Oh Cish how are you feeling now?

MrsMad I know they drive you a bit mad but I've really come to like your parents. They remind me of my grandparents - my Nan had a heart attack and when she was recovering she was ordered to rest by the dr. We set up a rota so she had people there a few times a day to clean / care for her / cook. Cousin went there once and she was on the floor as she had slipped but didn't want to trouble anyone by calling even though she had her phone and was cheerfully playing an online card game Hmm I also found her stood on a stool cleaning kitchen tiles on one of my visits. She looked like the ultimate petulant child when I told her to get down too! Lol.

I am in work and doing overtime today (as long as it doesn't snow). Very boring 🙄 but necessary as we want to do a big summer holiday but have had to replace DHs car recently. Sometimes I definitely wish I was rich!

NerosFiddle · 29/01/2019 10:49

Morning all

Crazy that sounds like my dm. She broke her ankle a couple of years ago and was still trying to do everything that she normally did but on one leg and with a crutch 🤣

Mrs anything planned for your day off?

Fluffy glad your DS is in the home stretch now

Wheel that's great progress. Do you go up 5ml a day?

PhilomenaButterfly · 29/01/2019 12:44

Crazy my mum's like that. Lethal near main roads, has to be supervised in the garden because she doesn't listen to "don't touch the foxgloves" then thinks we're joking when we say "go and wash your hands". Hmm

CishAndFips · 29/01/2019 13:34

Mrsmad I hope dad is okay. It's true that I do feel a lot more stressed than usual but I'm hoping that will start to settle soon. philomena your breakfast sounds lovely. crazy much better today thank you. Just tired. I also definitely wish I was rich.
Just back from the meeting at school DS is on yet another behaviour plan, [sigh] just having a cup of tea and warming up just in time to go back out for the school run. I do wish this rain would go away for a while.

CrazyBaubles · 29/01/2019 13:38

Neros & PSB It's exasperating isn't it but do you know, her stubbornness is one of the things I miss most about her.

I should add, when she had her heart attack, she was already in hospital. She has sat down in town struggling to catch her breath and a lovely stranger called an ambulance.
I arrived in time to hear the doctor telling her to sit still in bed because she was having a heart attack (while looking at the monitors she was hooked up to). Her response?
"You're being ridiculous. It's indigestion. I had a big lunch, send me home' and more muttering about needing to walk the dog 🙄

Honestly, the dr looked so surprised, I think he was expecting a gentle, quiet old lady! Grin

CrazyBaubles · 29/01/2019 13:39

How old is your DS Cish? It sounds exhausting for you!

Mrsmadevans · 29/01/2019 14:10

PSB l didn't know you had to wash your hands after touching Foxgloves Xmas ShockXmas Blush Xmas Grin
Is there anything else plant/flower wise l should wash my hands after?
Eckky thump it is a wonder l haven't been struck down by an Agatha Christie poison lol Xmas Grin
Nero have taken flowers to my parents friend grave have put a pic , it's his birthday Thursday , he was a lovely old gentleman , he had a gorgeous name , Louis Frederick . Sorry for the random info lol Xmas Smile. Am just going to see my NDN Wally and take him his birthday pressies and cards . Will spend an hour or two with him , l don't have much time to pop around there now with the parents. He is having very good care though tbf, he gets 5 visits a day and a lunch from meals on wheels . DH pops around every week as well and starts his car up and takes it for a run to stop it from seizing up, his DD uses it when she comes down to stay with him. I am all cared out tbh and l only go every couple of weeks . I should go more but l just feel so MEH about it because when l go, he moans all the time about his DDS and cries about his wife dying poor thing Sad and l can't bear it . l almost have to steel myself to be able to go . Sorry l have gone on Hmm
No Snow yet just drizzle and awfully cold BRRRR!!
Crazy ahhh that is so sweet of you , they are a funny 'couple of swells' bless them Grin. That is such a good idea to put buckets on their sides with food and water in for the birds. l will be following that too if they need it Smile . Have told the parents very sternly they HAVE to call us if they fall we need to make sure they are alright . Even my DSis is agreeing to being called any time Hmm .....much to my surprise Xmas Shock. Bless your Nan , she sounds wonderful love her.
Well done on the overtime and YAY to a big Holiday this year that will be fantastic Grin
Ahhh Cish it is so worrying when the DC are not getting on as well as we would like , my DD1 is very depressed atm and l don't know where to turn for help for her. She is thinking about giving up her Midwifery degree, she is depressed and finds the placements really hard to cope with. l understand, it must be difficult they have so much work to do bless her and when you are depressed there is no motivation to get you through it. l want her to really think about it before she does something she will regret. though. We can help them all we like but it is up to them at the end of the day . My DD1 is 24 though and it's a huge difference to your Ds . It seems l will never find peace of mind Hmm
Right better shift and go see Wally , sitting her wallowing won't get me feeling any better, my DD1 says l am very pragmatic and will seek a solution to everything even when there is no solution lol
I think she may be right Xmas Grin

NottingPhil · 29/01/2019 15:21

Mrs I’m so sorry about your dad, I hope he’s doing okayFlowers

Fluffy That’s good re school, I hope he’s starting to feel a bit better. The pox are the worst

Cish I hope you’re feeling a little better it must be horrible

Alfie is doing much better today, he’s stopped being sick now and has managed to keep his breakfast and lunch down. Ive made a lasagne for dinner and am off to pick DD up from DM’s. So not a very eventful day for me.

WheelchairWoes · 29/01/2019 15:39

Oh Mrs!! That had to be scary for both him and your mom. Since becoming disabled falling is a very scary thing. Tell him to take it easy. Even though he's not hurt hurt there's a good chance his muscles will all be hurting for a week or so.

We ended up putting two houses outside for the outdoor kitties as well as some food for them. I hope they will come sleep in the houses and stay warm! Poor little loves

Cish I hope you have a good day today with no headaches or vomiting!

Fluffy I'm glad your DS is scabbing up nicely an should get to go back to school on Friday. Hopefully he'll stay out of your bed too lol

PSB Glad DD got off to her booster ok!

Crazy Awwww I didn't even think of the birdies! I hope they'll all be ok! These cat houses are made of styrofoam coolers and have a hole in them and there's lots of hay inside so they can sleep. My kids put a blanket in each one too. One house is sitting next to our front door and the other is under my ramp against the house. We're hoping them sitting against the house will help them be a little warmer too.

I think for next year I'm going to buy an actual heated pet house for outdoors.

Fiddle Yes! I am trying to go up 5 ml a day! So far I seem to be tolerating it well! By next week I should hit my goal!

Notting Super about your Alfie!! I'm so glad he's on the mend!

My husband is going to work very early today at 11 AM so that he can train a new hire! My carer is coming at 11 and will leave at 3 pm.

The sun is out and it's super nice outside despite being really cold. It is -4 F which is -20 C right now.

I need to clean up the house a bit today.

NottingPhil · 29/01/2019 15:42

Wheelie I’m glad you’re making progress, you’re doing really well. I have no idea how you’re coping in -20c, it’s 2c by me and I’m sat by the fire and dreading going outside

WheelchairWoes · 29/01/2019 16:10

NottingPhil By NOT leaving the house LOL I canceled my appointment today and said I'm not going out of the house until Friday when it warms back up!! My house is 73 degrees (22.7 C) so since I'm sitting in the sun it's not bad at all.

PhilomenaButterfly · 29/01/2019 16:24

Always wash your hands after touching raw chillis Mrs, but that's because they burn. 🔥

BiddyPop · 29/01/2019 16:31

Hi all, sorry I went incommunicado, there was too much to get done.

DD is healing, still very sore (so I suspect it is actually broken rather than just sprained), and grumpy at missing sports and the annual "Commando Course" competition in Scouts (doing a pretty tough assault course, running through mud and mucky water all day in the freezing mountains, to see who has the best patrol between the Boys Troop and the Girls Troop) - but considering things, she's not been too bad.

Sailing was all shore based this weekend due to too much wind. Likely to be again next weekend due to cold. But I am slowly getting organized with the event planning.

Interview was yesterday, I didn't get it, in fact it was a complete surprise who DID get it. I had the person I thought would be my real competition in earlier commiserating - he was feeling quite upset about it while I, yes I'm upset but I am trying to be pragmatic.

Meanwhile, it's cold, there's a lot of work to get done, and DD is looking to leave school early as she has nothing to do., so I'd better get on and finish to collect her.

PhilomenaButterfly · 29/01/2019 16:33

Had an appointment with the school nurse, DS2's at Adventure. 😆

CishAndFips · 29/01/2019 17:22

crazy DS is 8 we quite often have these phases of behaviour and he is under assessment for ADHD and SPD. I think school are finally listening though so I'm hoping that's going to be a huge help.

mrsmad I suppose the worrying never really stops with children does it. Just changes. I hope your visit with Wally isn't too taxing and you get some time to yourself this evening.

notting I'm much better today thank you. Glad to hear Alfie is better.

wheelchair a vomit and headache free day today thankfully. I hope your managing to keep warm.

WheelchairWoes · 29/01/2019 17:37

PSB My hubby once was cutting chilis and went to pee without washing his hands. Lets just say WASH YOUR HANDS lol

Biddy I'm sorry you didn't get in. Something WILL come up for you! I promise! Just try to be patient.

Cish Fantastic! I'm glad your illnesses left you alone for today! Please let us know what your GP says though? I've been worrying about you.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/01/2019 20:59

I once rubbed my eye after chopping chillies. 🔥🙈

Mrs, I think you'll fight a losing battle against your parents' stubbornness. They seem very determined to do stuff their own way!

Notting, I'm glad Alfie is on the mend.

Cish, it sounds hard re your DS. How long is the diagnosis process?

Biddy, sorry you didn't get the job. At least you're able to be pragmatic about it.

Crazy, I hope your overtime wasn't too painful.

It's bloody freezing here and snow is forecast overnight. Merseyrail have already announced that travel will be disrupted tomorrow. The joy!

PhilomenaButterfly · 29/01/2019 22:26

Picked DS2 up at 6, had Singapore noodles for supper, DS2 was in bed by 8.05, DD was in bed by 9, made a tuna sandwich for DS2's snack, did wash, laid out uniforms, in bed now. 😋🍗🍤🍜😴😋🐟😴

WheelchairWoes · 29/01/2019 22:38

Oh fluffy The thought of rubbing your eyes after cutting chilies makes me cringe! Let us know how your snow goes! I hope your travel won't be too disrupted and you can stay warm!

My husband's work has called off tomorrow. The temp is dropping rapidly tonight too so they might call it off early. School's are canceled tomorrow too. I am really worried because I know we have homeless people living under the bridge here in our town but my husband says the Catholic Church has opened up their area as a place to sleep and be warm AND they are going place to place to find people who need it and taking them there.

WheelchairWoes · 29/01/2019 22:39

PSB You guys are on the ball tonight! Glad everyone is tucked up in bed!

Mrsmadevans · 29/01/2019 23:23

Evening all Smile
Have been to see Wally, he was very well and pleased to see us, DH did his car , he didn't moan too much l think it was because Dh was with me tbh. I will have to go in when he goes in from now on Smile
Thank you Notting re Dad , no problems re his fall off the bed last night . Thank God ! Hope Alfie is getting more like himself and you are not having to worry so much Flowers
Wheelie ahh that is so kind of you re the kitties outside bless you Smile. I can imagine how worrying it is when you are unwell and not able to mobilise very well, re the falls. I feel the same about if l fell and couldn't go and look after them . Hope you kept nice and snug in the warm and got the house sorted too Smile, l always feel better when l have done stuff in the house . Have had a lot of birthdays recently and done the prep for that and it does make you feel less stressed Smile
Great news re the feed too well done m'dear Smile, where you live seems to be a very caring community that is wonderful of the church to do that . I am glad your DH is home with you tomorrow it is safer for you all Flowers
PSB Singapore noodles sounds gorgeous!
Fluffy l bet that stung like hell, totally agree with you re the parents they are just so stubborn and trying to keep their independence but it is sometimes so counter productive to what they should be doing to take care tut tut naughty parents lol Xmas Grin, hope the commute isn't too bad for you tomorrow but think it is your Thursday tomorrow YAY! I wonder how bad the weather will be though because they give it so bad for us but today there has been nothing at all !
Cish ADHD is bad enough but that SPD sounds really awful your poor Ds and no one has even diagnosed him yet how bad is that ahh bless you no wonder you are stressed sweetie Flowers. He must get so distressed on times and it must upset you too Flowers. You are dead right you never stop worrying about them Sad we can only do our very best for them though ..always .
Biddy l am sorry about the job going to someone else , l really thought /hoped you would get it , what do l know about it but l had a feeling Smile never mind just not meant to be this time . Hope your DD finger is better soon it sounds really painful poor DD Flowers
I think l have caught up now Xmas Grin
Hope everyone has a good night sleep and the DC are much better , let's see what the weather brings in the morning !

SpecialK24 · 29/01/2019 23:57

Hi all, sorry I haven’t replied sooner was my first day back at work after a week off with poorly DS and last night he was still very tearful but hopefully on the mend. DD has been constipated (since 9 months old and has Movicol everyday) but didn’t tell me it was hurting as obviously it hurts her and she withholds so was crying for most of the afternoon after school until I got home at 6.30pm. She finally went then 5 mins after was sick everywhere!!! Just when you think they are getting better.

Tonight I remembered we haven’t done her homework (she’s in nursery) but has been asked to do a poster or a shoe box diorama and it needs to be in by Thursday so I’ve been up painting the box trying to make princess towers ready for her to decorate in the morning or after school ... well if she’s well enough for school that is 🤷‍♀️

Glad to hear most of the Children are on the mend but sorry to hear about the bad stuff that some of you are going through at the moment. Rant over .... hope you all stay safe in this horrid weather and wrap up warm x❤️x

WheelchairWoes · 30/01/2019 01:40

Mrs Yeah we are clear for a while on anything major besides doctors appointments. In August we're going out of state for a wedding so there's that but that's a ways off still lol

I hope you get some good sleep my friend!

Special Awww your poor DD :( You guys can't seem to catch a break! I hope they both are on the mend and are able to go to school and do their projects and everything.

We had a snow squall pass through and it dumped about an inch of snow on us! Just enough to make the roads icy! Thankfully Joe will be home in half an hour and we aren't leaving the house until Thursday.

I'm working on my embroidery this evening. It's about 8:35 PM. I'll run my feed until midnight and then unhook and be off of it until tomorrow about 10 am. I've had 357 ML today so far. I think by the end of the day I'll have had about 420 ML of formula today which is not bad at all.

Our low tonight is -7 F which is -22 C. I'm making both my kids sleep in the living room tonight with lots of blankets and we've got the fireplace going. It will make me feel better to know they are out here. I think we're going to turn up our furnace a bit too.
