Here we go, brand spanking new thread.

If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

Thank you all, it means a lot to me. I feel like I can’t be sad to my family as she was only my auntie and her daughter and husband are putting on a brave face, but I’m balling like a baby

Afternoon!

Sorry for your loss, Notting. Flowers

I've just been to the allotment but even though it's sunny, the ground can't be dug, so I wasn't there long. Off to the shop now then home to make lasagne and a pasta bake.

It's breezy today; our washing should do well!

Evening everyone Xmas Grin
Had to go to the parents very early today , Mum's 87th birthday so went up early to get her dolled up and to open her presents and cards and to sort their food out . She had a lovely day bless her. My BFF had her twin grandbabies home for the weekend and l popped up to see them and to take a pressie bless them they are beautiful. Boy and girl born end of Nov, beautiful babies. The Mum is not going back to work because it will cost 60 pounds a day each to pay for care. The Mum works for the MOD and l said to them that she should be able to have a career break until they go to school but l am not certain . My BFF bought them a beautiful twin pram/carrycot SilverCross but omg it cost a fortune Hmm

Had chicken tikka masala for supper, DS2's just gone to bed, DD will go at 9. 😋🍛😴

CishAndFips · 02/02/2019 19:34

My tribe have just returned home from an afternoon at DH's friends. Ive had a gammon in the slow cooker all day and DH is just making egg and chips to go with it. After that will be getting the DC's ready for bed and then DH and i are going to cuddle up and watch a film.

WheelchairWoes · 02/02/2019 22:31

Mrs HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR MUM!!!! WOOT!!! 87! GO MUM!!

Cish Sounds like a great ending to a great day!

PSB Sleep tight kids! And PSB when you go!

Fluffy Is the ground all froze? It's warmed up here today 46 (7)! Our ground is still well and frozen though because the temps are probably going to drop soon again.

Sorry I was MIA today. I feel better emotionally but spent all day sewing! LOL I'm at 75 ml an hr right now! 30 minutes until I go up to 80 and run 80 for 6 hours. That's my goal! WOOOOOT

Hubby is at work but my kids are hanging out with me today. Joe bought me a really nice fluffy velvet blanket from the store.

WheelchairWoes · 02/02/2019 22:32

Mrs That pram is GORGEOUS but omg the cost! It made my mouth drop

NoWordForFluffy · 03/02/2019 08:22

Hair cuts today (mobile hairdresser). And baking with the kids.

It's freezing here. The car is an igloo and the garden is frozen solid! It's meant to warm up a touch during the week, however, thank goodness!

Mrs, I love SC prams. DD had a lovely one, which we upgraded to a double but shouldn't have bothered as she stopped using a pram as soon as she was walking! Should've stuck to what we had and a buggy board!

Woot on your formula rate, Wheelie. Good going!

Cish, sounds like a lovely day.

Making chicken in red wine and thyme sauce with potatoes in creamy garlic sauce. 😋🍗🍷

NoWordForFluffy · 03/02/2019 12:32

Cakes!

We have banana and choc chip muffins (but we don't tell them they have banana in!);

Gingerbread men / stars / Batman signs;

Cupcakes (to be iced when cool);

Mini lemon and lime drizzle cakes; and

Chocolate and beetroot cake in the oven!

Busy morning.

Our temp is similar, Mrs. Hardest frost of the winter so far. Our washing is outside though. It's sunny and breezy so better than nothing!

Impressed at your baking there fluffy Xmas Grin

I made some chocolate brownies for DD , they are delicious . I might have some with ice-cream after dinner.

I'm planning to see DParents in a couple of weeks , so going to make a fruit cake (no icing or marzipan) , a carrot cake (no frosting) and some brownies . All cakes they like and they keep well.

Went round the shops yesterday , they seem to be full on Valentines Day Mode with a heavy presence of Easter theme in John Lewis.

I;m not into Valentines Day myself so I;ll bypass that for Easter Xmas Grin

We've been lucky (so far) with the snow here but I think that will change .

Keep well, keep busy

Mrsmadevans · 03/02/2019 15:46

Afternoon everyone Xmas Grin
Fluffy, lovely cakes and bisks you always do such gorgeous cooking for the DC bless you . What is the beetroot and choc cake like? I imagine it to be a strange texture but l am sure it is just like a normal cake Xmas Grin . Snow is melting here and according to the weather going to be much warmer tomorrow but we shall see Xmas Grin
Thank you Notting for Mum's birthday wishes she had a whale of a time, l have put all her pressies away this morning and she had some lovely things . 4 tops , 3 bras, 2 packs of pants from M & S, 4 prs of earrings , 2 necklaces , big box of Border biscuits, sponges, shower squidgees, Elizabeth Arden green tea EDT spray, Davidoff EDT cool waters , Tresemme from Dad , Yardley Peony EDT which she loves , l love it too but it doesn't last , 2 bouquets of flowers and lots of cards l think she had about 32 cards in all Shock. They are all in the conservatory on the windowsills. She was in excellent spirits and had loads of visitors so a great time was had by all Xmas Grin
PSB ahhh your DS is looking so grown up bless his heart , lovely pic thank you for sharing with us , tell him he's a handsome boy ! Smile
Wheelie the velvet blanky sounds lovely , all the better because Joe bought it for you ahhh he's a cracker bless him !
My friend has just messaged me to say her MIL has been taken in to ITU in Nevill Hall Hospital , with E.coli and Pneumonia, bless her she sounds really poorly , she's not that old either , early 60's but pneumonia doesn't respect any boundaries it is a dreadful illness. E. coli isn't much fun either Hmm
Am just off to make a naice cuppa , hope everyone is having a good day Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 03/02/2019 15:51

70..... yes the shops are full to bursting with Easter eggs and Valentines day stuff, we don't bother with Valentines just a nice card each , we didn't do Christmas pressies for each other this year which we didn't miss at all Hmm and DH is bleating something about not wanting Birthday pressies either so l don't know if we will even bother with Birthday pressies. Thing is l have just seen Mum being ecstatic over her pressies and it is so different to how we are about them lol , your cake plans sound delish , l am sure your Parents can't wait to see you and the cakeys ! Xmas Grin

PhilomenaButterfly · 03/02/2019 16:16

Making duck in plum sauce for supper. 😋🍗

NoWordForFluffy · 03/02/2019 16:25

We don't do Valentines either! Not even a card. We only do cards for our anniversary too. Romance is not dead here! 😂😂

I'm glad your mum had a lovely day, Mrs. Sounds like she had a lovely haul of pressure too.

Choc / beetroot cake is just like chocolate cake, like carrot cake isn't carroty! And courgette cake isn't courgettey! 😁

Mrs, your sister will be vetting the cards, angry at all your mum's friends for being friends!

Your poor friend's MiL. Ecoli is so nasty. I imagine the pneumonia is secondary to that? I hope she recovers.

70, good to see you. Where've you been?!

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 03/02/2019 18:13

PSB Duck in plum sauce sounds very yummy hope you enjoyed it Smile
Fluffy she has so many presents/cards bless her but she was like a kid really enjoying it lol , l was ages getting her sorted with the pressies and the cards Xmas Grin .
You wouldn't believe it but you have hit the nail on the head re the cards, l had to destroy 2 of them before my Dis saw them , the ppl sending them said on their card 'thank you for the money you sent me for my birthday' . My poor Mum said ' get rid of these for me before she sees them , you know what she is like'.
Mum needs an eye test and possibly new glasses and l said l would take Mum to the Opticians but l am not allowed to because l will let her have whatever glasses she wants and My Dsis wants to take her because she will stop her spending 'too much' . I could tell you a thousand things like that Hmm
Never mind got to just get on with it all
Have a lovely Sunday evening everyone Smile
Am looking forward to Vera later , just going to have tea Smile

CishAndFips · 03/02/2019 18:41

fluffy sounds like you have had a very productive and tasty day.
mrsmad glad your mum had a nice birthday, thats a hefty present stash. Yes the gammon smelt amazing and it was very tasty too. We had the left overs for tea with cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes.
wheelie great news about your formula. The blanket sounds amazing i love curling up on the sofa with a fluffy blanket.
philomena lovely haircut. Food sounds amazing as always.

Its been a very productive day here. Left DH in bed and took DC'S to the early family service at church. Returned to blitz the bedroom. 6 hrs 3 bin bags and 2 charity bags later i have something resembling a bedroom again. Going to get the DC'S in bed shortly then we are relaxing with a box set. Ive just lit some wax melts and the house is smelling rather amazing.

Mrsmadevans · 03/02/2019 19:11
