Hi again to you all,*Mrsmadevans thanks yes they are my kids names they will be 8 and 4 next Christmas I am already excited for Christmas and planning already though I think I am going to struggle with what to Buy my eldest boy any ideas welcome ladies, I can confirm I will be participating in Rudolph days 😆

CrazyBaubles · 16/01/2019 21:49

Woolly Yes it was me that asked for a pic of your blanket but I nosed on the craft thread. It's lovely!
I am on a similar 'finish all wips' mission too (2 down, 2 to go - not mentioning the 5 I haven't started yet 🙄)

Welcome Jackanddarcie 👋 This seems like the thread for you. I love Rudolph days, especially in June / July, not sure why!

Biddy congratulations on the interview - I'm sure you'll smash it!

Fluffy if you have a good curry recipe and a spare few minutes, could you post / sent it to me please? I've never managed to cook a decent curry from scratch.

Thank you for all the well wishes about my auntie. She's mostly sleeping now so my cousin is planning to stop visits after tomorrow.
My family are finally behaving because I'm apparently scary when I'm being stern which is good because I feel very on the edge and not sure I could stay this calm for much longer.

I went for a walk on my lunch hour to buy washi tape for my journal and found some Christmas things (I've posted a pic). I couldn't help myself - they were all super reduced - lights were 25p each set and the basket was 50p!!

Bargain, Crazy! Where from?!

I got a curry kit from www.thespicery.com and haven't looked back. Their curries are awesome as so easy as they've mixed the spices for you. The sides etc are ace too.

I have a discount code if you look and fancy it!

Morning!

I'm on the late shift today so got to get up later! No time to clean the bathroom though, so I hung the first load of washing out and will clean the bathroom tomorrow.

It's gone rather cold today and is set to be like this for a while. I think winter proper may be here!

Mrsmadevans · 17/01/2019 09:12

Morning everyone Xmas Grin
Fluffy your Friday yay!!
It is colder here too, noticed the cars are frosty this morning, have to do shopping for the parents just now , so will have to shift lol. I don't think our washing will dry in this it is too cold and no wind so will have to tumble it Hmm . Think the bargains are from Poundstretchers Fluffy judging by their stickers. Am l right Crazy lol !
Crazy that was extremely good shopping m'dear well done Xmas Grin l espesh love the chimney basket it is gorgeous lol !
I am glad your family is behaving finally , l suppose to be fair to them it must have come as a terrible shock and it does take some adjusting to , they will be struck with panic and sorrow firstly l am sure , it is just awful for you all sweetheart , l am so sorry Flowers
Jack&Darcie , l haven't got any little ones so won't be any help l am afraid but did look for the top ten toys forecast and got lucky with my great nephew who is 8 and bought the laser nerf guns for him and he was ecstatic lol . Sylvanian families for the Great niece .

Morning all sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up. Headaches have been unbearable the past few days. Just back from GP who thinks they are tension headaches. I have some tablets to try for 2 weeks to see if that helps. Just put DD down for a nap and I'm going to try and have one myself. Hopefully be on later to catch up properly.

donttakethebiscuit · 17/01/2019 12:56

Ooh this seems like just the thread for me. I’ve commented on another one but had no replies and this seems much more active. I really struggle around Christmas time but now my kids have come along I want to get over that and make it special for them so fingers crossed🤞🏻 your Christmas spirit is given to me

CrazyBaubles · 17/01/2019 13:03

MrsMad I think it Is poundstretcher. It was in Newport - it used to be poundworld or something but has recently been taken over. I haven't dared show DH, I've just snuck them upstairs and added them to my craft stash because he doesn't tend to look there! The lights are going to hopefully be added to the wreaths I'm making.

I've had a look st the spicery Fluffy and a discount code would be much appreciated. What a clever way to get started, thank you!

Cis I'm sorry you feel ill. have you tried some simple pressure points to see if that helps? I know it's not everyone's thing but I use them as have headaches / migraines a lot. I've attached a pic of the ones I use - they provide temporary relief for me.

donttake Welcome! Hopefully our festive madness will rub off on you. How old your children? Is there any particular reason you don't really enjoy Christmas?

I'm going for lunch with a friend now to break up the work day. I'm making an effort to leave the office every lunch time as it seems to have such a positive effect on me, especially with all the stress I have at the mo.

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/01/2019 13:04

Welcome Donttake

We bumble along all year and we will chat about Christmas and planning for Christmas and other stuff. The bargain threads continue all through the year too. The whole Christmas board will really pick up probably about the start of November and you can get lots of ideas about things like trips and panto if your DC are old enough. Somebody somewhere will have done an activity nearby and can recommend or tell you to steer clear. My children are past Santa visits now but the really good ones get booked early so keep an eye on the websites of any that you fancy.

If you are into Christmas crafts and cookery then there will be threads later in the year too.

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/01/2019 13:06

I missed you post Cish. I hope the nap and the new tablets help. Have you been to an optician just to rule out any issues with your eyes causing your headaches?

donttakethebiscuit · 17/01/2019 13:11

Crazy I have a 2 year old and my twins are 1, so next year my eldest will start to have an idea of what’s going on. I don’t really like this time of year as my family all used to use Christmas as an excuse to drink so it was a sad time of year for me and I want to change that for my little ones.

TheWooly thank you, that’s a lot of good advice and I’ll definitley take it on board. The crafts and cookery will be excellent as I will be able to do some things with the boys to get us all in the spirit

NoWordForFluffy · 17/01/2019 13:18

Hi, donttake! Welcome!

Crazy, referral code attached (works on orders over £20.00. It's a 10% discount on orders over £20.00. I get a £5 credit, for full disclosure).

Morning all

Wheelie so glad your home safely.

Another interview on Tuesday morning. So fingers crossed.
Today I need to go and get dc feet measured and buy them some wellies in case we get heavier snow. Then physio, then pack for going away tomorrow.

Hope everyone is doing well. I can't go back and look at the comments.
