Ahhh, The Holiday! ❤️❤️ that film (even though it's twee beyond belief!).

Cathy, have you got family up there? Or are you moving away from your familial support just before having twins?! 😱😱😱 Rather you than me!

Shouldn't your DH find a job before committing to move though? What if he can't get a job because someone else pips him to the post in interviews?

CathyBigBalls · 13/01/2019 19:48

Fluffy Thank you for the advice but we have planned through. We don’t live near family anyway, and we can cope well with the children just us. DH works as a teacher at a college at the minute, but is a well trained in a trade that means he will be able to run his own business so will do that job if he can’t get the job he wants.

WheelchairWoes · 13/01/2019 20:05

Fluffy Yes! The Holiday! It's a very sweet story. We love it lol

Cathy Good luck! I will keep you guys in my thoughts. Let us know how everything goes?

I'm having a hard time keeping lilah off my computer. It's warm and she keeps snuggling up to my key pad

NoWordForFluffy · 13/01/2019 20:08

Just be careful not to commit mortgage fraud!

It's a shame that your 1800's Victorian terrace was above a noisy hairdressers. Can't be good having noisy neighbours and deciding that you need to move 100s of miles to get away from them.

Mrsmadevans · 13/01/2019 20:08

Thought l would pop in before VERA starts lol Xmas Grin
Just had the chicken stir fry and it was lovely even if l do say so myself Xmas Grin
Cathy you are very brave m'dear , l would have to have the t's crossed and the i's dotted before l did anything like that lol. I always think l have been too safe in my life , l think we should have speculated a little but it is either in you to be able to do that or it isn't l suppose, We grew up very poor and l was left completely deaf in my left ear after measles at 3 , it really dents your confidence Sad. So l think that makes you more guarded in your finances. Good luck with the house hunting m'dear!

CathyBigBalls · 13/01/2019 20:28

Fluffy it is a shame. I’d just like to clear a few points up though, first of all we aren’t moving because of the noise only. We are due to have twins this year and have been considering a move since we found out. Our house is a gorgeous 3 story house that has thin walls and floor boards, so we can often hear a lot of the music and chatter. We also are moving to Northumberland as it is a place I’ve always loved and that I used to holiday to as a kid, so when we thought about moving we looked there first just out of curiosity and we found the house.

Mrs thank you, we will make sure to cross the i’s and dot the t’s. We aren’t making any swift decisions and will only view the house, it may not even be suitable for us. But a more comfortable house might be better for us with the twins coming along.

CishAndFips · 13/01/2019 20:31

cathy DH gets terrible leg cramps from time to time so I can completely sympathise with the pain. I hope your feeling better now.

crazy I can imagine how difficult that must be. I hope you had a nice meal, I love a steak meal although I sympathise with the diet I too have been completely rubbish. I love the blanket.

fluffy that sounds like a lot to me and a much more productive day than I had.

Thank you wheelchair it's very sucky but I'll hopefully get to the bottom of it soon. I hope your feeling better very soon. I love that film it's one of my Christmas favourites.

mrsmad thank you. I'm counting the days till Thursday but at least it's only a few days now. I'm glad your dad had a good day and your DD sounds lovely.

Wreck wow busy day. I haven't had a macdonalds for ages but really fancy one now. I might take DD for a treat when I have my day off on Tuesday. I would usually go after school and take DS too but I help to run a homework café at our church on a Tuesday so I will need to find a different time to take him for a treat.

CathyBigBalls · 13/01/2019 20:32

Cish Still have the horrible cramps but is easing, going for a warm bath now to see if it moves it

WheelchairWoes · 13/01/2019 20:42

Mrs I wear hearing aids and I just want to say I do feel you on the being more cautious because of issues like that. Things that affect you physically very much can affect your life in ways you don't consider usually!

Cathy We have very very thin walls and a neighbor behind us who plays loud music in his shed! I totally know what you mean about all that.

Cish You might have your husband increase his banana intake because sometimes leg cramps can be caused by low potassium. I've had that before!

Mrsmadevans · 13/01/2019 20:50

Wreck, l am full of admiration of your exercising well done m'dear Smile
Your walk sounded just lovely Xmas Smile
Cathy l am sure you have your head screwed on sweetie , l wish l had been a little more bold when l were younger and didn't always have to be so rigid with my thinking .I would love to have moved to another house by the sea (Tenby) too late now and anyway Mum and Dad are so poorly it would be impossible if we lived away so l suppose it is just as well. If you love Northumberland then go for it!
Crazy ahh thank you my dear DD1 is a sweetheart she really is , very gentle soul Smile, she did Mum's nails and put this bright pink on her nails and l said to her 'did you let her choose the colour she wanted?' , l should not ask! l should already have known she would do that . In my defence it is my huge Number 1 thing l hate , doing things for the elderly without giving them a choice , she is her mother's daughter l am happy to say bless her Smile
That is wonderful they have sorted everything out for your Auntie to go home , ahhh bless you, it is so upsetting for you all but she will be happier in her own home surrounded by her things and her family Flowers
Lovely when you have cleaned the house and can relax m'dear, enjoy your journalling ! Xmas Smile
I am wondering where Red has gone bless her anyone seen her about? Hope she is ok and her family.
PSB you have eaten very well today , my favourite would be the ham egg and chips , lol l love dipping the chips in the runny (must be runny) egg yolk Xmas Grin
Wheelie l think those kits look brilliant m'dear, thank you for the compliment re looking after Dad , it is easier when you love them even though they do your head in sometimes lol. I have heard that about bananas too my DH has terrible leg cramps too , he takes Crampex for it , he wakes the whole house up when he gets it Xmas Grin. l have nerve deafness in my left ear and there isn't a lot they can do for me re the hearing aids but never mind l can hear ok with my other one Smile. Ahh sweetie you have so much going on , l reckon those ears of yours must be the straw that broke the Wheelie;s back bless you sweetie Flowers
I am so glad your roads are passable just praying you can get there now and get it all over with and be fine and dandy Smile Flowers
Not seen the Holiday but it sounds my cup of tea , l must watch it soon Smile. Lilah is beautiful you enjoy her Wheelie Smile, hope Joe is safe on the roads too Smile
Cish treat yourself to a Maccy d's Smile do you good once in a while Smile Than you re the DD1 being kind she is lovely , l am biased lol Smile
Right l have caught up with you all again lol must go and watch Vera
Hope everyone has a good night sleep tonight and everyone feels better who is poorly or feeling off in any way shape or form, Fluffy , your DC, Cathy your nausea and June chest , Cish your headaches and Wheelie your sore throat had better do one m'dear! Flowers

CathyBigBalls · 13/01/2019 20:56

Thank you Mrs, and thank you for your well wishes for me and June. Me and DH always say if we have an idea just to go for it, we’ve got one life so live it and if it goes wrong we’ll fix it. So lucky to have him

CishAndFips · 13/01/2019 21:50

Oh thank you wheelchair i hadn't thought of that.

mrsmad I think I'm going to treat DD and I to a Maccyd's. I have just bought DS a new smiggle lunch box wincing very much at the cost so that eases the guilt of not taking DS with us a bit.

CrazyBaubles · 13/01/2019 22:18

Wheels Thank you for your thoughts. I realised auto correct had said she decided early evening when it should have said earlier - I hope that makes sense now?
I love The Holiday. Not a Jude Law fan but I like Jack Black in it Xmas Smile

Cathy That is a very big move! Like MrsMad said, I would need a job secured for DH and to spend lots of time somewhere before I would be brave enough to commit to moving somewhere far away.

Cish are you following any diet in particular? I think I'm going to do a basic calorie counting one to get myself on track

MrsMad Tenby would be a lovely place to live! We spent a lot of summer holidays there when I was younger.
DH has family in Saundersfoot which is also nice but if I were to move, I'd leave the country altogether. In my dream life I would live in Canada (Nova Scotia ideally) then retire to Scotland (Loch Ness area).

I don't remember you mentioning your hearing before? Obviously it isn't the same but I had a boil type thing in my ear as a teenager which used to rupture every so often causing an ear infection. Drs say my hearing is fine but I often miss things like the door knocking and struggle to pick up speech if there is background noise. Deep men voices are the worst - I'm forever asking DH to repeat himself.

I was thinking something similar earlier about RedGreen, we seem to have lost a few posters along the way...

I have been working on the journal on and off for the evening. It's been nice to be creative and because I'm not generally very artistic, it's distracted me nicely. Bed time now though...

Mrsmadevans · 13/01/2019 22:48

Smiggle is the shop of the very devil Cish! So expensive and so nice!
That must have set you back m'dear!!! Don't feel bad about you and DD going for a Maccy D's it's a necessity Xmas Grin. My DD2 told me to recommend the Toffee Latte Xmas Grin
Crazy do you think it is because we are Welsh that it makes it hard for us to let go a bit ? Is it a cultural thing l wonder? lt has been drummed into me when growing up about how poor we are/were as a country.
I love Tenby Crazy , one of my very best places in the world, funny you should say about Scotland though , we would love to go to Scotland to live in our dreams too lol , I fear the reality of living anywhere we fancy won't live up to our dreams one bit! Xmas Grin
Think l have said a long time ago about my hearing but it is so easy to miss posts here , it has affected my confidence espesh in my working life but l can hear pretty well and subs are brill for the telly Xmas Grin
I used to feel pretty intimidated by situations . l don't now though , so many ppl have hearing loss, it is more out in the open now. I used to dread going to places l had to talk to ppl . I tell everyone now and say l have to sit here so l can hear you all now lol and laugh it off Xmas Grin
Have you had the proper tests for your hearing though , in a proper Audiology clinic? I only ask because they thought l was ok until l had the proper tests then they realised l was totally deaf in my left ear. They didn't pick up on it because my other ear compensated for it when they tested me in the GPS. When they told me l was deaf in my L ear and they couldn't do anything about it l cried l was so upset , The consultant was so kind and l remember what he said to this day 45 years ltr . He said 'Do you know what is worse than being deaf in one ear ?' and l cried and said 'no'. He said 'being deaf in two ears'. Of course l laughed when he told me that because of course he was so right. I was so lucky to still have one good ear Smile
I had better shift and get to bed , have a good night sleep everyone
Good luck Wheelie xx Flowers will be thinking of you sweetie , l know you will be absolutely fine xx

Crazy No worries I knew what you meant. I feel for you. IT's hard but I'm glad she'll go out how she wants at her own house!

Jack Black was such a surprise for me in the movie! But I love it! It's such a lovely story!!

Cish It's helped my kids when they are having leg cramps themselves!

Cathy I wish I could live that way. I have such bad anxiety that I think I would enjoy my life more if I could just decide things and not worry!

Mrs From what I understand from the audiologist my hearing loss is part of my connective tissue disorder. I guess the inner ear has connective tissues and in people like me the connection in there just doesn't work so good. But I love my hearing aids! They help me hear a lot of things lol

You should definitely watch The Holiday! I think you'd really enjoy it. Very much a feel good movie!

My daughter is finally done building her 'snow goons' and snow men' she's now in the tub warming up and then will give her clothes a good wash so they'll be ready by tomorrow (she wants to wear the same pants)

Thank you Mrs! I will update you all when I can! I might have my hubby do it from my laptop as I keep this page open! So if someone signs in as me and claims to be my hubby it's Joe! LOL

Morning! Drinking coffee and waiting for for Carol to come on. Xmas GrinBrew

CishAndFips · 14/01/2019 07:51

Good morning all I'm just having a cup of tea before work. Crazy I do flexible dieting. It's basically calorie counting but also macros. So it breaks it down into how much protien etc I should aim for a day. I also follow an 80%/20% rule so 80% nutritionaly balanced and 20% of what I want.

mrsmad I love toffee latte

BiddyPop · 14/01/2019 09:14

Morning all, it’s a relatively ok morning - dull but clouds are high, not looking like rain, wind died down again although it is definitely colder than last week. Snowatch looking like some potential late this week/early next - fingers crossed!!

It was very windy yesterday, so my sailing was cancelled (on Saturday evening- yay!) so w actually got a lie in, and lots of organizing jobs done. Dd and dh went out for a short cycle as well but wind and a shower dampened their enthusiasm! But as I had got stuck in, I actually made good progress in a few different “hot spots” around the house, and I think I got all the Christmas things finally put away (duvet cover set and towels had been in the wash and we found a few more bits to add to that bag).

Also - the medicines drawer! I hadn’t realized how many things were out of date. Good time of the year to check this, and restock flu and cold remedies that might be needed.

Today is a busy day at work. Then my course tonight. Tomorrow might I need to focus on paperwork for 2 groups - arranging schedules for spring training, organizing an event in February, and planning a hostel trip. And leaders training...although that should be a nice adventurous weekend if I manage to book it!

Mrsmadevans · 14/01/2019 09:17

Morning everyone 😀
Am off to Goldcliff today and to pick up some comfort socks for Dad , all of a sudden his socks 🧦all have holes in them lol
He doesn't want to get rid of them but l said to him it does you good to look good . Hope you understand
It always makes me feel better about myself if l am presentable. So l figured he would be the same. Going to the crem to put flowers on heremorial too ,for my beloved Cathy. She was like a beloved friend/aunt to me. Wheelie l am wishing you so much love and luck today. ❤️💚💛🧡💜💙, You are going to be fine 😘
Cish my DD2 said you have great taste lol
PSB l missed Carol. I got mesmerized by that very awful reality programme called Dress to impress. It is extremely bad and yet fascinating how vaccuous and shallow some ppl can be , l could not stop watching ! It is true that empty vessels do make the most noise! Grin
Hope everyone is well ❤️
Will see you all later l am Sure. 💐for the poorly ones among us 😍

Afternoon all. I've been away from here for a while because rl have been hectic. Today is the first time I've spent in my house in ages. It was great getting out during the day but it meant all my work got pushed to the evenings and by the end of the day I was just ready to fall in a heap.

Mrs enjoy Goldcliff.
Carol weather was in blue today. She suits blue but I think it then gets lost against the weather map iyswim

Wheelie best of luck today. I'm thinking about you.

Biddy have you heard about the job yet?

CrazyBaubles · 14/01/2019 18:28

Biddy I'm so glad you're back and you've got a lot done!
Can I ask - do you ever have a free hour and just waste it? I wish I could keep myself as busy as you but it just results in anxiety and migraines.

Welcome back Nero

MrsMad my mum always drilled in to me the link between how you look and how you feel (she sometimes went a bit far and has made some cutting remarks about weight but I agree about washing hair / using mascara / wearing nice clothes = feeling prepared for the day).

Wheels I hope you're doing ok 💐

I am just home. I visited my auntie on the way but am not sure I'll be able to go again. People are now hearing how ill she is and suddenly want to see her but she's very tired and confused so I think my cousins are going to stop visits soon.

I am doing more bullet journaling today. I have so many lists to add to it, I have them stashed everywhere and I'm spending more time making the pages pretty than useful

Mrsmadevans · 14/01/2019 19:40

Evening all Xmas Grin
Any news Wheelie ? Hope you are alright my dear Flowers
Nero , you enjoy your lovely home , it is such a great feeling when we can spend time in our own place and do things we want to Smile
Goldcliff was lovely! I popped into M & S and bought some lovely jewellery in the sale for presents for birthdays during the year , l will put pics on in a min Smile
Crazy ahhh sweetie your poor Aunt bless her , l think people will naturally want to go and see her but it is going to take it out of her Flowers l am so sorry my dear . She probably would love to see them too but if it is distressing her then they would be right to stop people visiting. I think you are probably right not going again. I stopped my DDS from visiting my Dmil four days before she died. She looked awful and l didn't want the girls to remember her like that. She was semi conscious then and 4 days before she died she went into a deep coma , so l tried to protect them from seeing the deterioration too much. it's very sad Crazy and we just have to do what we feel is the right thing to do at the time Sad Flowers
Think if you feel good in your appearance then it cheers you up Crazy you are right . I dressed Dad in his new trews and shirt and jumper and he looked a Bobby Dazzler , my Mum loved him looking so smart bless her, so it made then both feel better and that is all you want Smile Enjoy the journal and pretty doodling Crazy Smile
Dsis is on again about souvenir gifts the friend bought Mum from her Aussie hols. 'They are terrible, cheap, garish, rubbish, awful, shit ' It was a calendar and a snowstorm of Sydney harbour bridge . It was not what l would want but it was very kind of them and just a novelty for Mum to feel good that they remembered her .
Also moaning about Mums friend A, friends for 50 yrs , who lives at the back of them 'ringing up for hours talking shit , she is a pita'
The parents phones are playing up badly but Dsis is such a miser she denies they are not working properly and blames my Mum for not putting them back on the hook. I was and am there all the time and they ARE on the hook all the time but they are old and wearing out . l have offered to buy them new phones for Mums birthday but she told me not to Hmm
Honestly it is hard enough looking after the parents but she causes such a lot of stress with her nasty comments and brow beating .
My Dh has told me they are never coming here , he doesn't want their filthy language and nastiness here , he has had enough of them. I just want a quiet life but l can't have that ever it seems . Oh woe is me!
