wheelchair that's an excellent idea a garland is top of my too buy list for next Christmas.

Mrs I love spring flowers, definitely looking forward to that. I always feel a bit glum in January.

WheelchairWoes · 06/01/2019 17:28

Mrs Trying to get the kids dressed and ready. I swear they take like 30 minutes to put on a nice shirt when we are trying to get going!

Your poor dad with the pressure sore but I'm glad at least he is starting to believe you that he's not actively dying. Poor dad :( He has broken my heart and I just want to hug him.

cish I'm trying to see if they sell garland for other holidays. If I can find something for Valentines day I think that could look nice! LOLI know they sell some for Halloween but we'll see about valentines and maybe some kind of spring and summer garland

CishAndFips · 06/01/2019 17:42

I love that idea wheelchair let me know if you find anything.

WreckTangled · 06/01/2019 17:55

It was good thanks! We're all pretty chilled so there was no expectation

WheelchairWoes · 06/01/2019 18:05

Cishandfips I will let you know what I find!

Wreck That sounds like a good shower. I've been to some that are super stressful. I like the chilled ones!

There are now reports coming in of some places being unable to take and process foodstamps cards because of the government shut down! This is terrifying :(

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/01/2019 18:09

Had mince hotpot for supper, DD will go to bed at 8.05. 😋😴

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/01/2019 18:45

Hello y'all

It was only two weeks ago that we were looking forward to Christmas Eve !
Now it;s all New Years Resolutions, no decorations , the scabby tail end of the sales (though there was some good bargains in Sainsbury kitchenware though I don;t need any so didn't buy ) , the schools go back and there are roadworks which will blight my route to work Hmm

I have done the worlds biggest washing basket of laundry
Sorted out the wardrobes and got a charity shop bag together
Tried not to be too Envy that my DD has another day of holiday (6th Form) and my DS has another week (University) but he does have long days and more travelling .

I was at work one day in Christmas week and three days last week (I work PT 4 days) so I don't have that horrible shock to the system like I used to have when my DC were little and I took 2 weeks off .

I;ll read through all the posts and catch up proper !

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/01/2019 18:57

DS2 will go to bed at 7.35. 😴

Mrsmadevans · 06/01/2019 19:03

We just had marmite on toast for tea Xmas Grin
Didn't fancy anything but it could be because we scoffed M & M's this afternoon lol.
Your Mince hotpot sounds delish though PSB Grin
70 l know it is unbelievable it is all over for another year Sad Bah Humbug! You have done really well with your decluttering and tidying !
Wheelie l hope you will be ok there sweetie Flowers
Bless you re Dad , he will be ok l am sure it (anti D's) just needs to kick in and he will be much happier l am sure.
Loving the lights and garland idea too!
Glad you enjoyed the shower Wreck just the job to chill and relax.
Countryfile on now , Antiques roadshow straight after Yay!

Mrs, I think if you've gone a long way down, the ADs have a bigger job to do, but it sounds like his levels are coming back to normal now, so fingers crossed it's onwards and upwards.

The kids go back to school tomorrow, so they were in bed before 7. I can hear one of them coughing though, so they're not properly resting yet.

I had to make the bed and get the washing in once the DC were in bed. The washing is airing / finishing off on an airer and the sheet and duvet cover are being finished in the dryer to save space. They shouldn't take too long.

All the clothes got put away earlier, other than those still drying. I like to start the week all caught up with ourselves, where possible.

I'll have an early night tonight to prepare for the week ahead!

WreckTangled · 06/01/2019 19:44

I've got a pretty busy week ahead and they're closing the road near me which means an extra 20 mins onto my journey. I cut it fine to meet the dc off the bus as it is so will have to speak to my manager about it. They're closing it for seven weeks Angry also don't know what the DC's bus will do as it does a run for the secondary school before and after mine, it won't make it if it has to follow the diversion. Blah.

CathyBigBalls · 06/01/2019 19:48

Fluffy it was an early lunch, it was lovely. I’m not on Mat leave but I work from home and will become a SAHM when the twins are born.

Our girls are in bed now as they have school tomorrow, won’t be long until we’re asleep too!

CathyBigBalls · 06/01/2019 20:00

Wheely I’ve noticed June has been really unsettled sleeping lately. When she was in with us she didn’t seem to be breathing and was choking a bit, just assumed it was because her tonsils were swollen. Will get her down the doctors tomorrow and make sure they check her out.

TheWoollybacksWife · 06/01/2019 20:09

Hello all. Happy New Year everyone.

I need some advice. All my trees and decorations are down and everything packed away apart from this elderly lady Smile I bought her on DD1's first visit to Santa and DD1 is now in her mid 20's.

She is a tree topper but I want to modernise her to look more like the second photo but without the wreath. Currently her skirt is made from wired ribbon but I think I should add a cone of something so that she fits on top of the tree properly.

Any ideas? I'm fairly crafty so the fabric/fur bits won't be a problem

NoWordForFluffy · 06/01/2019 20:13

I'm pretty sure our type of thing like that had a kind of chicken wire inside! But a softer grade of metal, if that makes sense?

Mrsmadevans · 06/01/2019 20:47

Woolly that angel is beautiful! I know you want to preserve her but l am useless with craft things unfortunately. I can sew hems up but that is about it lol. Good luck with it m'dear.
Cathy, hope June is ok m'dear very worrying for you all Flowers
Wreck what a bore having to do all those miles more ! Hope your boss is understanding for you m'dear Smile
Fluffy l did another load of washing for the parents today that makes 5 washes for them alone this week (2 were their bedding) ! Will put it in their boxroom on the airer it is too cold here to dry it atm. Hope you get a good night sleep m'dear Smile I think you are right Dad was in such a deep depression and on such a small amount of anti d's ( they didn't want to give him too much because of his Leukaemia and poor kidney function ) that it has taken him ages to even START feeling better. His Cons said to ride it out for at least 6 weeks , l have told you all that several times l know , l just like to repeat it to myself as well to reassure me Hmm Smile
Shaky is still not well ,if he is no better l am taking him to the vets tomorrow afternoon once l get back from the parents , he is drinking but not eating sleeping a lot , still going out to wee and pooh but is not himself Sad
Have a good rest tonight everyone, going to watch Manhunt at 9 it looks excellent !

Evening all. We decided on rl shopping today. I bought myself a jumper. Wasn't on sale but thought I'd treat myself.
DH didn't have any time off over Christmas and new year, so tomorrow isn't going to be a shock to the system for me, thankfully.

Seafoodeatit · 06/01/2019 21:54

woolly that angel is lovely, I would probably buy a dolls christmas outfit because I'm lazy!

mrs I'm very sorry to hear about your dad, it's naff how little chemists stock these days I hope you manage to get some of the right plasters soon and that his anti D's kick in and lift his mood.

70 Crazy to think it was only 2 weeks ago! it went too quickly, I want another go at holidays/time off the routine.

wheels I'm loosely following the situation in America, I hope they come to some agreement soon, it's not fair on the people suffering as a result of the government dragging their feet.

I'm 140 messages behind yikes! I hope everyone has had a great weekend, I'm dreading the school run soon urghhhh!

WheelchairWoes · 06/01/2019 23:31

Hi guys! Playing catch up!

70is it's totally a shock to me that we were just anxious waiting on Christmas and now it's totally over. This year? I'm doing Christmas bigger and better! I've already started planning lol

Mrs We'll be ok! I gave my dad a heads up on the situation and he said if we need to we can come shopping with them and they'll help us buy dinner if our cards come up unreadable. He's a lifesaver!

I am rooting so hard for your dad. He seems like such a sweet guy and his photos at Christmas made me so happy

Morning! Watching Carol and drinking coffee. Back to school today! Xmas GrinBrew

NoWordForFluffy · 07/01/2019 06:21

Morning!

I got back on the cross trainer again today. I've been rubbish since injuring my shoulder. I need to lose the Christmas chub though!

DS stayed in his own bed last night. He did cry out just before midnight but it didn't amount to proper crying so we left him and he stayed there!

Off to work soon. So much to do today. And I'll find out how my Trial went on Friday!

Wheelie, I only do the school run on Friday. It's all in DH's capable hands!

I'm glad you've had a lovely day. 😁

Mrsmadevans · 07/01/2019 08:27

Morning everyone 😀
Off up the parents early so can't catch up with you all been there will LTR.
Have a good morning everyone ❤️

Morning all, just got June from school and at the doctors now. They were a bit upset going in today so will take them for a treat later on tonight. DH is back at work and I’ve got loads of work done already so been very productive!

CrazyBaubles · 07/01/2019 14:18

Sorry I have been MIA. My auntie has become very ill very quickly so I haven't had time to catch up.
I've scrolled through very quickly.

Fluffy The pic of your baking stopped me in my tracks, I'm so jealous! Lemon drizzle cakes are my absolute favourite but I can't bake at all.

Woolly do you have a wire coat hanger? If you could untangle it you you probably may a hoop for the bottom of the dress and another for under her arms, joined together which would give you a frame to work around and will fit over the top of the tree?

I've had my follow up dr app today and I'm all ok to go back to work properly tomorrow (lovely boss let me work from home today as getting from office to dr and back would take hours).

When DH gets home he's going to have to put the Christmas decs back in the attic. They're in new plastic storage boxes but the bag o ordered for the tree didn't come until yesterday and it was pointless doing it until everything was packed away.
How many decs do you all have? DH moaned I have too much (and it is a lot now I see it packed properly). I have 4 80ltr storage boxes (mix of lights, baubles, ornaments, 2ft tree, crockery set, tea towels, jumpers and a pair of pjs), a wire twiggy tree things, a proper tree going in the attic and a gift bag in the spare room with wrapping paper, tags, cards, gift bags and my Christmas craft perfects (wreaths and cross stitch). Please tell me you all have a similar amount?
