Thank you for all the congrats and messages on the last thread. I didn’t reply to all of them as I thought it might be dull reading for everyone but I really appreciate the advice, understanding and general congratulatory comments. Bad news is I’m still stuck on the sofa feeling sick, but at least it won’t last forever (thank goodness!).

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

It’s Oxford st or Stratford! I need a John Lewis!

I need to be out the door at 9am tomorrow so no time to go then!

I’m currently waiting for DFriend to drive over after I left my purse in her car...I keep looking at the clock and thinking how much worse it’s going to get!!

It was a real pleasure knowing you all!! Shock

PsychoCrayon · 22/12/2018 13:41

I’ve just got back from Westfield in Stratford - it took me about an hour to walk from the Disney shop to the Lego shop (slight exaggeration but felt like it)

MinorRSole · 22/12/2018 14:11

Thank you all for the many deals posted, I have spent far too much but saved a good amount too! Special thanks to the lady who kindly acquired the groot dressing gown for me.

Many congratulations to Reastie and best of luck with it all when the time comes.

My presents are all finished and wrapped so just wanted to wish you all Merry Christmas - see you next year for more bargains! Xmas Smile

BloodyForeigner · 22/12/2018 15:02

@IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece there is small branch of John Lewis above the Waitrose in Canary Wharf. Imagine that might be a lot quieter. Worth calling to see if they have what you want if you aren’t too far from there?

imsorryiasked · 22/12/2018 15:42

If anyone is still twitching - Mog's Christmas book is down to £2 again delivery before Xmas with prime

aimee888 · 22/12/2018 16:02

@duriandurian

I emailed them and they said the mug can take up to 60 days! I received the magazine yesterday but like you not really interested in it

JellycatElfie · 22/12/2018 16:05

Sainsbury’s have reduced their Christmas kids clothes. I got a few T-shirt’s and jumpers for next year all for less than £4 each.

passremarkable · 22/12/2018 17:39

This is a ridiculously long shot, but I’ve had a logistical issue. Is there by any chance anybody with a heart of gold and space in their car boot for a ride on landrover driving from Glasgow to Liverpool tomorrow night or Monday...

I’m not expecting a yes but I’m trying every avenue at this point Xmas Hmm....

Thank you!!

sunshineNdaisies · 22/12/2018 19:46

is there a sales thread yet? What sales and discounts will be in the boxing day sales?

Reastie · 22/12/2018 19:58

We can do sales stuff on here, I’ll be home on my own on Christmas Day afternoon as too rough to go to family so I’ll be spending the time sales shopping online!

WeAreTheWeirdosMister · 22/12/2018 20:10

Would anyone have a UniDays Schuh voucher code I could please use Xmas Grin

CheekyFucker · 22/12/2018 20:17

@Reastie I will be doing the same Christmas afternoon. I am hoping the sales will be good this year.

I had forgotten a couple of gifts so have had to spend a fortune last minute. Not doing that again.

SweetPeaPods · 22/12/2018 20:32

I’ve already caved in the pre order sales online with both M&S and Next. All stuff for the DC.

sheepwithoneear · 22/12/2018 20:52

Weirdos just pmd you a code

Dolceandgabbana14 · 22/12/2018 20:57

Ooh I was going to ask about sales and what to buy for next Christmas. Would be great if the bargains are all on here as well! Thanks everyone for sharing all your basins and ideas. Merry Christmas Xmas Smile

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 22/12/2018 21:27

Just came on to post Bout the Sainsbury's reductions. All the nativity costumes reduced. The DC have spent the afternoon dressed as Santa and an elf. Building a giant cardboard gingerbread house. Which is too big to get out the living room door.
My Sainsbury's only had the jumpers in smaller sizes. Lots of kids shoes and boots reduced. Just a whole lot of clothes reduced.
I don't suppose anyone has seen any nice simple stockings reduced? Or if they do please let me know. Ours were destroyed when our garage roof leaked earlier this year and it doesn't feel like Christmas without stockings.

QOD · 22/12/2018 22:18

I’m after Xmas decs! Trees and big things. Just moved to a house with big rooms and my tree and ornaments are pathetic and meagre lol

thaegumathteth · 22/12/2018 22:34

My lands end order arrived! The fleece blanket is lovely and bigger than I thought it would be.

Have multiple birthdays in our house between now and Christmas Hmm so have a great Christmas everyone.

PinkPanther27 · 22/12/2018 22:42

Does anyone have any current Lands End codes please? I ordered a fleece blanket as a gift but it's so nice we want one for ourselves.

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 22/12/2018 22:54

I have a problem. I've been on the threads since no3 but have nc this week.
I found out thanks to kids ransacking drawers while I was vacuuming that DH has bought me a necklace for Christmas.
But it is very very unusual and really not my sort of thing at all, I would be unlikely to wear it much if ever. Normally I would smile and thank him and wear them occasionally to make him happy. But it cost £150! I would feel terrible having such an expensive thing sitting there and never getting worn. Sad
The most expensive necklace I currently own was about £40. I tried to discourage him from buying me jewellery as he has form for choosing things not to my taste but he's never spent this sort of money before.

The most sensible thing would be to ask him to return it (online purchase). I don't particularly mind if I don't get something else instead, I'm not massively fussed about presents. I just don't know how to tell him without sounding like an ungrateful cow and upsetting him. The other problem is that he'll need to inform the website by boxing day that he wants to return to be within their cancellation period so I can't even wait a few day to break it to him.

Help! What can I say that won't make him feel crap and disappointed that he chose that?

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 22/12/2018 23:29

I made it out unscathed! (Not entirely true, a woman dropped her coffee all down me in John Lewis...cue getting home in filthy light grey jeans!) they had what I wanted and I only had to queue for 35 minutes Hmm!

I could do with getting something else for DDad...so an E-voucher it is because lord knows I’m not going out again!

woodwaj · 22/12/2018 23:33

I've been delivering presents today. Just my nephew to go on Xmas eve then I can sale shop whilst ds plays!

WoahBodyforrrm · 22/12/2018 23:34

Can anyone help with amazon devices please 🙏🏼 We have an echo show downstairs and the kids drive me bonkers talking to Alexa all the time like she is their very own bitch. So I decided to get them a dot for their bedrooms with the view that they can listen to stories and choose whatever music they like and ask her 11 million questions without me losing my mind. But when I plug them in, will they automatically connect to our Main one, and if so, will that mean whatever plays on the dot, will play on the show? I’m so confused 🤷🏼‍♀️

Iggi999 · 22/12/2018 23:45

I dont know about echos, but we have two google home minis and they are conn ted to the same account. If i ask the kitchen one to play music it doesnt play in the bed room and vice versa.

MinorRSole · 23/12/2018 00:53

I have my echos connected but they only play on all if I ask it to play "everywhere". I only use this when I'm doing housework so everyday You can also use them as an intercom, I didn't even want one but now I love them!
