Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it [thanks

Newday just a couple more suggestions, crazy golf of pottery painting. Groupon often has offers for activities, it might be worth checking out what’s on in your area.

dancemom · 02/12/2018 18:44

Checking in but I'm all finished! Waiting in 2 items being delivered but did all my wrapping today.

Thanks to this thread I got 2 red letter day deals, a Bluetooth speaker, lots of green and blacks chocolates and Christmas socks!

NewDayBlankPage · 02/12/2018 18:45

Thanks everyone for the amazing suggestions for god daughter.
yeknom the Hugo boss deal was great but has gone up to full price now (it was a £65 set reduced to £35 iirc). You can still get discounts on the fragrance shop though, there was a code on the last thread for 20% off and there are a few Hugo boss sets on there.. so maybe not as good as the first deal but still decent.

sunshineNdaisies · 02/12/2018 18:48

chocolate making day out for the goddaughter? there's lots of places that do it? Or to a trampoline place as they are also 'in' at the moment.

OneoftheseBoxes · 02/12/2018 18:52

Newday I was going to say pottery painting too. Lovely way to spend a couple of hours, and something to keep afterwards too.

Youcantscaremeihavechildren · 02/12/2018 18:53

I think as I'm devoid of any ideas for DH and we haven't spent much time together recently, I'm going to plan something to do every month next year. I'm hoping it's something I can manage! Thinking 6 actual date night thingies, sans kids, then a few family day out, so babysitting reduced, plus a couple of meal voucher type things as he always cooks at the weekend.
Just need to work out how I can book things in really really and how I can make it affordable...

SantasFavouriteHo · 02/12/2018 18:57

Checking on
although I'm still definitely done!

Trumpton · 02/12/2018 19:15

Just checked and AW18XX is still working for 15% off and free delivery for Celtic and co .
I have bought DH some new ones for Christmas as his old ones are 5 years old and wearing out !

Trumpton · 02/12/2018 19:15

^^ Slippers !

HoneyDragon · 02/12/2018 19:25

Dh ans the kids killed my Xmas tree. If anyone’s else’s family murders their tree I’m pleased to report back that Argos have lovely trees at a third off.

Notlongnow1 · 02/12/2018 19:39

I'm intrigued @HoneyDragon How?!

tentative3 · 02/12/2018 19:40

Youcantscareme one of our things to do over Christmas, which you could do at any time if you're close enough to the coast, is to take all our small change and have a day out at the seaside arcades and a walk on the beach.

HoneyDragon · 02/12/2018 19:58

I was off working at a Xmas fair. They farted about with it thinking it was wobbling so much it committed Xmas tree suicide and broke off its stand.

Next time they insist they can Christmas up the house unsupervised I’m putting my foot down Grin

Namedecisions · 02/12/2018 19:59

Checking in to the new thread and to ask if anyone knows of any Hotel Chocolat discount codes please?

Yeknom · 02/12/2018 20:03

Thanks @NewDayBlankPage, gutting the deal has finished but least it's going to save me the constant trawling through old threads. Maybe I'll get it from boots as I have enough points (I hope!!) X

Youcantscaremeihavechildren · 02/12/2018 20:05

Tentative perfect thanks! Kids could spend hours in the arcades, we are under an hour from Margate, we love it there, its on the list!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 02/12/2018 20:08

Thank you to margaritas and jammie for your suggestions on last thread, unfortunately the Newt scamander costume apparently comes up small and dd1 is quite tall. I've just won a second-hand suit which comes with grey waistcoat so hopefully it will be ok with the bowtie and scarf ive bought. Also won a set of 3 niffler teddies and a occomy egg so just the pickett to get now 😁 very excited to put this gift together even if it's not v bargainous 🤣🤣

PhannyMcNee · 02/12/2018 20:13

Evening, I’m normally a lurker and a few days behind. Please can someone explain the HP pop up book - I can’t find it on the old thread but it sounds perfect for dc4. Thank you

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 02/12/2018 20:19

@timeformy10thcuppa yes took my 4yr old the other week on his birthday was a week day and as someone who doesn't really like twinlakes (needs a good Hoover and a lot if bleach) it was good value for money despite the rain that all said I still couldn't bring myself to buy the half price annual passes on black Friday.

BrightonBB · 02/12/2018 20:20

The HP pop up book has gone up to £32.50 now on Amazon.

justasyouare · 02/12/2018 20:22

I’ve stumbled across Gbposters.com from a magazine advert and they have lots of Harry Potter stuff as well as some Marvel and all sorts of other bits. Looks good for stocking fillers as well as some larger presents- it’s definitely not just posters! OKGIFT gives 10% off til 17th December

whatwillicallmyself · 02/12/2018 20:24

Hi ladies can anyone recommend a jigsaw roll, I have seen a jumbo puzzle mates one on Amazon and a Clematoni one at Smyths but reviews are mixed as in they are great and do exactly what is needed or hopeless and don't hold the jigsaw pieces at all, so it's hard to tell really, just wondered if any of you have used one that you would recommend, thanks a mill.

PhannyMcNee · 02/12/2018 20:28

Ah that’s a shame, thank you BrightonBB

MyNameIsNotSteven · 02/12/2018 20:31

whatwillIcallmyself don't waste your money. I got a puzzle roll - the best I could find - but it was crap. The following year I bought a folding one instead.

BrightonBB · 02/12/2018 20:35

PMcNee - I’m a bit of a lurker too. Also, after missing out on a few bargains and kicking myself I now check in more regularly and act quickly. Thank goodness for the amazing regular posters on here - you’ve made my Christmas :)
