Ds3 is desperate for an Xbox one. All his friends have them and he wants to play with them. This is a much more expensive present than we would normally consider but he is putting his savings (£140) towards it. So, are there any deals to be had? Are there likely to be any deals for Black Friday? Any recommendations?

If you look up Tanersoned squishies advent calendar on amazon it comes up for £12.99. Was so tempted but think 11yo DD is just about coming out the other side of squishies . I need to find something else as it would have been ace.

*Jemima, I got the Fantastic Beast Suitcase from Smyths which was about £10 less than RRP at £34.99, and it looks like a lovely set. I've had a few in my Amazon basket for a while, and the prices keep fluctuating, so it's worth keeping an eye on them. Black Friday maybe?

I can't get the stuff out till Monday morning to check it all, but he said there is lots of water in the bottom of the bags. It's the big green tree bags you get and all my things are in cardboard boxes in the tree bags. I'm quite sure they will all either be destroyed or stink.
I'm sad, but, it's not the end of the world. We will just have to get a pack of cheapies this year and then shop the sales. Mil works in Wilko so I'm sure she will keep an eye out for us. My mum doesn't put a tree up anymore so I'm sure she would let us borrow her decorations. I have been collecting plastic toy figures for the DC to make them decorations.
Unfortunately, I don't have home insurance at all, don't judge me , it's on my list of things to sort but I just haven't got round to it.

For anyone using these threads as ideas factories as well as bargain finding: for any people you're buying for who have a horse/pony.....Ellie Equine on Etsy just made and delivered a birthday present to a friend for £15 inc p and p based on her horse. It's a felted head of one of her ponies to be hung on the Christmas tree as a special decoration. She loves it. Going to do one for Christmas for my DN.
