Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Thanks so much for your suggestions and offers of help. I'm a novice and it's been really helpful. If there's one thing this thread has taught me it's that there are wise folk out there who are kind enough to assist others in pursuit of Never paying full price Flowers

Looking for inspiration for my SIL who likes running and hiking, and lives on a farm... have given things like hiking bag, flask, wireless headphones, but coming up short this year! TIA!

The first of the Hamish series: "Hamish and the Worldstoppers" is only £2 on Amazon Prime.

DS first read these when he was 8, and loved them, brilliant kids series.

Chrisinthemorning · 29/10/2018 06:25

@mamabluestar
What telescope are you getting and how old is your DS? Mine is 6 and wants one too, need to decide which to buy.

Alanamackree · 29/10/2018 06:54

Jammie sorry to hear about your dd. Fingers crossed she’ll be home for Christmas.

Irish bargain hunters: Smyths are doing the €6 off €50/ €12 off €100 this week until Thursday. Seems very odd to me that they schedule sales to coincide with mid term both here and in UK. Surely that’s the hardest time for a parent to go to a toy shop? Although this one at least is available online too. Just be careful of the parcels as they can be quite obvious and they often just stick the packing labels to the actual box without adding any other box/cover.

Anyone any ideas for 11 year old boy I am getting him a gift voucher but would like a token something to open too! He’s into football - esp goalkeeping and gaming .

Allhallowseve · 29/10/2018 08:11

Elphaba17 · 29/10/2018 09:53

Allhallowseve - check out the joules outlet on eBay. They sell a lot of the products that are in-store too but offer free delivery.

SockEatingMonster · 29/10/2018 10:06

I hope your DD makes it home for Christmas @Jammiebammie or, failing that, that you all manage to have a magical Christmas wherever you may be.

This Roald Dahl joke book is just £2 on Amazon at the moment. DD has it and loves it.

thaegumathteth · 29/10/2018 10:08

@allhallowseve
Not sure if this is quite the type of thing you mean but ds is same age and interests and still loves a football annual - match, shoot, match of the day

margaritasbythesea · 29/10/2018 10:14

Jammiebammie fingers crossed for you all to have Christmas together and that dad's operation goes smoothly.

Tildero · 29/10/2018 10:34

@jammiebammie I feel your pain, my DD is potentially looming at surgery meaning she will be in hospital for her 1st birthday or Christmas depending on dates. It’s awful fingers crossed your DD is home for Christmas. If not bring Christmas to the hospital and make it as magical as possible. X

NoWordForFluffy · 29/10/2018 10:35

@ja9r, could you check your emails / PMs as I managed to buy that jumper for you last night, but I think you must have gone to bed so didn't see.

CookieSwirlC · 29/10/2018 10:40

Does anyone know of free delivery code for studio that actually works for existing customers? Got a few things to buy but begrudge paying £4.99 delivery.

Spam88 · 29/10/2018 10:46

I've just bought the Lidl version of magnatiles for a 4yo but now I'm doubting myself because the box says 1.5+. Can anyone advise if they think they're suitable..? My oldest nephew is 2.5 so I'm a bit out of my depth with a 4 year old! (And I don't actually know him).

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 29/10/2018 10:49

spam the 4&7yo I nanny absolutely love magnatiles! They’re fab and they play with them for hours

JellycatElfie · 29/10/2018 10:52

Can anyone help?

I’ve seen a toy on groupon. It was a wooden toy with pegs that you put rings on, little tiles with dots on and number tiles to match them all up correspondingly. I saw it advertised on Facebook as ‘Black Friday preview’ but can’t find it now. It was 9.99, and looked fab! I wanted to order today but can’t find it Sad thanks to anyone who looks!
