Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Christmascookies if you take a carrier bag of old clothes into H&M for recycling they'll give you a voucher for £5 off a £25 spend. They don't have to be H&M clothes and they accept all clothes, whether in wearable condition or not.

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 25/10/2018 16:31

What did you buy that has 0 calories @gaggiagirl? 😊 Intrigued!

BestofLuck · 25/10/2018 16:42

Oh no @gaggiagirl - I'm trying to resist Spode! But may have to have a look at that price...Blush

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 25/10/2018 16:45

Has anyone seen any teenage boys onesies , age 14, anywhere? Not a themed one (like Star Wars etc)

A lot of places stop at age 12-ish and then mens ones are huge.

Jammiebammie · 25/10/2018 17:01

@OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny (you bastard Grin)

Next have onesies, although expensive, that go up to age 16. River island also go up to that age and they’re really quite good for sales too. Asda have onesies up to age 14-14 (or 14-15) and M&S have an older range that go up to 16 too.
I know men’s are too big, but primark do an xs men’s size which is quite tiny, and onesies are meant to be big anyway Grin

Jammiebammie · 25/10/2018 17:04

this one at Asda is £11 for age 13-14

Niceforwhat · 25/10/2018 17:05

I can confirm that the Asda ones size up big too!

rubyred38 · 25/10/2018 17:10

Just got this Lego avengers set for my little one on amazon today

SockEatingMonster · 25/10/2018 17:48

Kawaii: How to Draw Really Cute Animals has dropped to £2.99 on Amazon.

It’s available from Book People for the same price.

I’ve ordered it to go with another Kawaii drawing book for DD.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/10/2018 17:55

Thanks, Sock, I've ordered it for DD.

torthecatlady · 25/10/2018 18:03

Thanks @RedBlu I ordered the Prezzo voucher too. Weirdly, they didn't ask for my email address when I ordered it, so I'm not sure how they're going to send it to me

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 25/10/2018 18:24

Grin jammiebammie - yay! Someone who recognises the reference Grin

Thanks for suggestions - last time I looked there didn't seem to be any around but I guess they're starting to appear in the shops now

Jammiebammie · 25/10/2018 18:26

Thank you so much sock, I’ve ordered too! That couldn’t be more perfect for dd, I had my eye on another one but it didn’t look as nice and was actually more expensive, really chuffed!
Do you mind sharing what other book you have bought please?

Random question time - how does everyone’s dp’s feel about Christmas buying? I definitely have to reign it what I buy dc as dh is more, erm, frugal cheapskate than I am. In fact, thinking about it that’s not actually true, he’d rather get one expensive item and nothing else, whereas I’d like to fill things out with nice thoughtful bits and pieces - as dh would call ‘crap to fill the house with’ (book above a good case in point - I think it’s amazing he’ll think it’s pointless) At the same time, he can’t understand the early bargain hunting. He doesn’t do any buying at all though, just expects it to all be done on Christmas Eve and then likes to moan about what I have or haven’t got - I despair!
At least my postie knows that if dh’s car is there then to hide my parcels by the bin instead of knocking 😂

Jammiebammie · 25/10/2018 18:27

kenny I’m sooo glad you didn’t take offence to that Grin

donkeysandzebras · 25/10/2018 18:39

Thanks for the kind offers re M&S. I ended up in there with MIL today who not only had a voucher of her own but then paid for it all so that was definitely bargainous!

On the subject of Prezzo, we went there for lunch today and within seconds of me booking a table online, they'd sent me a kids eat for £1 offer.

Iwannasnack · 25/10/2018 18:43

Whoever asked about kids cooking boxes. Was it these?
www.littlecooksco.co.uk
Not tried but had the tab open since it was mentioned!

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 25/10/2018 18:46

@jammiebammie you have just described my DH approach to Xmas exactly but I think he is resigned to my ways now. He is the one with prime so I just send him links now and he obliges 😆

NoSquirrels · 25/10/2018 18:49

He is the one with prime so I just send him links now and he obliges
Adam you can share a Prime subscription within a household - I got DH to add me to his.

MerryTwinkletoes · 25/10/2018 18:51

My first littlecooks box has just arrived. Have to say I'm not blown away with it for the price, and DS not very excited about making the sweet potato quiche which is this months recipe.......!

ritzbiscuits · 25/10/2018 18:58

@Niceforwhat I got a sprite micro scooter in John Lewis with 20% off at the end of August, bought it ahead for my sons birthday in October.

So proof they do discount to that level, but I've also seen them increase prices by £10 about now, then to discount around Black Friday.

Current £10 off deal is good, I'd personally go for that and know I have it, though you could hold out?

weelis02 · 25/10/2018 19:00

I'm really sorry if this has been asked or mentioned before but what is the Lego like from AliExpress? My son is wanting the big indoraptor Lego set for Christmas which is close to £100! I grudge paying that as I'm not sure if it'll get used a lot or not. Seen it on AliExpress for £30 but have never bought from them before so a bit apprehensive. He has asked for ages for it though

ritzbiscuits · 25/10/2018 19:00

@Niceforwhat worth adding I had to get it from store as they were completely sold out online when the 20% off hit!

Jammiebammie · 25/10/2018 19:06

merry I didn’t realise littlecocks were recipies like that, I thought it was more baking etc, I was going to look into it but don’t think my dd would like sweet potato quiche either.

weelis I bought off aliexpress for the first time ever at the start of this month (thanks to reastie!) and I’m super impressed. Everything came within 2 weeks, I ordered some stranger things mini figs and they’re absolutely brilliant and really good quality too. Can’t comment on the bigger sets of Lego copies, I’ve heard lots of people rave about them on here. Dd would love the sanctum sanctorum Lego set but I’m still too dubious to buy that from aliexpress I think, not sure why though.

adam there can’t be more than one Shock I hold the prime account here though, mwa ha ha.

gaggiagirl · 25/10/2018 19:09

@adambarlowsquiff I would like to be able to tell you it was cake, sadly it's just a box of sugar free coffee syrups. Probably made entirely of hideous chemicals.
I do love a flavoured syrup. My fat ass won't allow the real thing though 😂
