Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Good Food 5 issues for £5

I8toys · 24/10/2018 11:42

Thanks Itsnice - can someone explain what you do when you want to cancel the subscriptions after the 6 issues.

Also in support of Kindle Fire for kids, we have 2 and they get used frequently by a 6 and a 9 year old, never had a problem with them. An older model one did struggle with minecraft so we upgraded to the more recent fire and it runs fine. They play Roblox, Minecraft, watch youtube all with no issues. We didn't get the kids version but did buy the kids case as it has nice padded corners in case they get dropped so the screen doesn't break. They were a godsend on a recent transatlantic flight with delays!

Just having a look at the lovely cutlery jewellery on ebay mentioned earlier (I was always most envious of a friend who had some lovely bracelets made from forks and pendants from other bits of cutlery years ago, hadn't thought about it for about 30 years until this just reminded me!) and spotted this keyring in the listings...

No idea what meant it turned up there (it's also a necklace) but it's a tag that reads Always remember that you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you look and loved more than you will know' (think I've remembered it right - it's more or less that anyway!) and it's only £1.14

Might make a nice stocking filler or cracker filler or little present, especially if you have dc that have keyrings on their bags to help id them...

And then if you search on quote necklace/quote keyring and so on, loads more different variants are available, with everything from bible verses to Harry Potter and more.

Called into smyths today and noticed a poster that said they'd got up to 50% off over half term. Half term where we live is next week.

LEGO duplo 10837 Christmas set, reduced from £25 down to £12.50 in Sainsbury’s Grin

Notlongnow1 · 24/10/2018 14:32

Just picked up Playmobil pirate advent calendar for £12.99 in TKMaxx :)

Does anyone know of any Babipur codes?

Drummingisfun · 24/10/2018 14:39

They have a fb group, I think babipur hangout. Any codes would be posted there I guess.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 24/10/2018 14:39

@riotlady, how about a really cool pair of Converse? Is her style is more alternative then you could perhaps look for one of the limited edition pairs with bands/superheroes/custom fabrics etc.

Searching Google for "funky Converse" by size often brings up some bargainous offers on limited editions from past seasons. If you could up your budget by going in with another family member, the Converse site has an amazing personalisation service too. You can customise every inch of the shoe AND add wording. I'm a sucker for anything with a name on!

Drummingisfun · 24/10/2018 14:41

Are there still any boden £10 codes around please?
I've just discovered that I need to buy a very specific item of clothing and bode. Are one of the few places that have it.

vroc81 · 24/10/2018 14:42

For anyone thinking of getting an Amazon kindle fire kids they’ve dropped them £20 today to match argos and argos then give you a £5 gift card so I asked amazon and they’ve done the same... saves a trip and parking in town... i did some googling of Black Friday deals and not sure they’ll drop more than that given the costs of each aspect but should they do significantly I’ll be back on amazon chat...! That company gets enough money off me to give me aome back..

ritzbiscuits · 24/10/2018 14:59

@DaisyChops Agree, I too want to be able to use a tablet when cooking dinner or on long car journeys so don't want to have to be with my ds to use it!!!

Betsy86 · 24/10/2018 16:05

The toy sale has ended at Sainsbury’s but the items they got in that they dont sell daily have been reduced in price again.
Depends on what stock stores have left but they had
Playmobile aeroplane for £15
Big playdoh tub set £8
Barbie dreamtopia elephant £8
Shopkins Icecream truck £12.50
Barbie snow set with the sledge £20

riotlady · 24/10/2018 16:20

@CoffeeAndEnnui thanks I’ll have a look :) although I think I’m set on the tatty Devine necklace now

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 24/10/2018 16:23

riot my boss has a bunch of the TD nnecklaces and they’re fab! The quality is lovely and they hold up to a small child pulling on them regularly! I covet one!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 24/10/2018 17:00

I was in Home Bargains today and saw they had small boxed bottles of Beard Oil for £1 - the make was Be My Beard.

Great stocking filler, might even fit in a large cracker if you're doing table presents or maybe an option for whoever it was looking for presents around £1 to sell at school Xmas fairs for children to buy their .

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 24/10/2018 17:00

....parents

(no idea why the last word disappeared)

Jammiebammie · 24/10/2018 17:03

@riotlady tatty Devine have a spinny thingie on their website that give money off codes, I just got a £5 off £50 spend which I won’t use if you want it? Not sure if they stack.

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 24/10/2018 17:25

Im almost done shopping so I promise to go away soon.

My mum has bought DS a bunch of 3ds games to go with a 3ds that my brother doesn't use anymore. However D's has seen the Nintendo switch ad and wants one of them. I believe if you pre-order the eviee or Pikachu game you get a toy or something. DS has said he will buy one himself ( he is 7) and will earn the money himself. Now I'm wondering would the switch be better? And could 2 people use the one thing? So could he play with DD? Would we need two separate switches?
This would be his first console. He isn't usually into this kind of stuff but is Pokémon obsessed at the minute.
Basically looking for any advice because I'm about pulling my hair out over this console stuff.

Thanks in advance.

riotlady · 24/10/2018 17:26

@IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece maybe I should get one, my daughter is constantly yanking on my necklaces!

@Jammiebammie thanks but I won’t spent £50, I did manage to get a 10% off code on that spinny thing though

MinorRSole · 24/10/2018 17:34

@TimeForMy10thCuppa the Pokémon game is expensive with the poke ball (the ball is not free!). Dd1 has both and plays the ds more but the switch is useful for 2 player or connecting to the tv. You can buy extra controllers which are better but can play it with the 2 game sticks that come with it.

Overall I prefer the ds and think it's better value for money but that could be partly because dd doesn't have many games for the switch yet.

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 24/10/2018 17:47

Thank you minor, Im happy with that. Was feeling a bit of guilt as he said he wanted the switch and would earn some money to buy it. But I think the DS will be better for him. I can't seem him using it with the TV.
I think you get a free keychain with it. So will find him a keychain.
He loves a freebie and that's probably why he wants it.
Thanks again.
