Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Sleeptight would Schleich dinosaurs be of any interest to the 7 year old? Not cheap but they have loads and some of the more unusual dinosaurs. Also the books by Dr Ben Garrood are great and there were 3 new ones out recently “So you think you know about [insert name of dinosaur] all on Amazon. We saw him live and he was great. Another hit in this house was the DVDs of Walking with Dinosaurs.

Menomadness · 13/10/2018 12:13

Amazon have knex 70 set reduced to £19.96 from £61 ( although I think that is a very high price) but seems a bargain for under £20

ladyvimes · 13/10/2018 12:15

Can anyone recommend any adult (not sexy!) board games similar to cards against humanity?

Catanddogmake6 · 13/10/2018 12:21

Does anyone have any bright ideas (and possibly bargains) about alternatives to an iPod for DD who will be 6. She likes going to sleep listening to books on audible and also occasionally listen to music. I thought of an iPod and speakers but the only iPod now is the touch which has all the same functionality as the iPhone bar calls. She already has an iPad inherited when I had a new one but she is not allowed it in her room at bedtime. I really just want a device that will play stories/ music and not give her access to anything else. However I do want to be able to digitally download things (preferably audible and iTunes but I guess that might be a step to far). Any ideas?

Hollister have up to 50% off in sale - hoodies down to £19 good range of sizes so good for teenagers, there were also offering a £10off voucher if you signed up to their mailing list earlier in the week as well

AceyMac13 · 13/10/2018 12:43

Hiya. These came with a magazine but are no use to me. Feel free to use if they can help in any way.

@ladyvimes have you played ‘what do you meme’? Quite similar to Words against humanity. I’ve played it a couple of times and had a good laugh

TheDrsDocMartens · 13/10/2018 13:03

Any ideas for dd1? 18year old language student. Needs to be consumable/useful as she’s not much room for ‘stuff’ and is pretty practical. Likes nails, meh about make up.

WoahBodyforrrrm · 13/10/2018 13:12

If you're on o2 check out the priority app. I’ve just got a free bottle of Moët being delivered within 28 days. That’s the Christmas Day fizz sorted!!

There is also a free Call of Duty headphone splitter thingy available which would be a good teen stocking filler.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/10/2018 13:28

No free Moet here. Boo!

imsorryiasked · 13/10/2018 13:35

@margaritabythesea if you don't mind buying from Aliexpress a quick search brought up these so probably lots of others too.

whereisthatpenguinfrom · 13/10/2018 13:38

Woah my O2 isn't coming up with that!!

Spam88 · 13/10/2018 13:45

No Moët here either 👎

whereisthatpenguinfrom · 13/10/2018 13:46

I was offered chocolate.. bit put out about that! Am now installing Priority on DM's phone to see what she gets offered so I can run off with the Champagne if it's that

PurpleOctober · 13/10/2018 13:48

Not sure if this has been posted, but toys are buy one get one free at Morrisons

Moana123 · 13/10/2018 13:56

Are the toys from toys for a pound genuine? Or are they copies? Thanks

margaritasbythesea · 13/10/2018 13:57

Thanks imsorryiasked. We've had some bad experiences with Ali Express do I can't really get away with that either. He's blooming particular about toys. He sussed all my cheap cuts immediately Sad

margaritasbythesea · 13/10/2018 13:57

Which means he gets less of course.

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 13/10/2018 14:01

The toys for a pound stock seems to be genuine. Things I've had were the same as in say Smyths which were then heavily reduced before they sold out so am guessing toys for a pound buy up old stock from other shops. I was really happy with quality.

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 13/10/2018 14:03

The Ren offer seemed pretty short lived. It went after about an hour after I posted. Sorry for any disappointment.

1sttimemama I don't have a 20% off code, but one for a free hand cream with a purchase of a perfume- if you'd like it pm me.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 13/10/2018 14:20

if anyone is considering getting books for a xmas present, then may be worth having a look here. used books being resold, most are in good condition link

SockEatingMonster · 13/10/2018 14:29

Thanks @Momasita, I don’t mind spending more as they will be joint gifts for parents and PIL who we’d usually spend £50-£100 on, £20 for a 100-page book would be amazing though!

Do you remember if the Groupon offers have time limits and how easy it is to create the books? Our internet is a bit rubbish, so I’m trying to avoid slow and clunky sites. My time is worth more than the £30 I’d save (literally, I’m self employed!!)

SimplyPut · 13/10/2018 14:38

Lovely boxed candles down to £2.50 in Sainsbury's this afternoon. Nice autumnal/winter packaging and scents.

NoHufflefucksGivenMugglefucker · 13/10/2018 14:40

Toys for a pound is genuine. It’s like homebargains etc they buy up limited quantities of old stock.- mine was all perfect

Spam88 · 13/10/2018 14:44

sock with CEWE you download software and make the book in that so don't have to worry about slow uploads and stuff.
