Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Does anyone remember the name of the website that did the personalised tree decks with all different breeds of dogs?

woodwaj · 15/10/2018 12:29

I've had an email from the sticker site this morning spend over £6 and get a free Santa countdown sticker sheet code WINTER1910 valid till Friday. I always order from them instead of tags so I've done it now.

Elphaba17 · 15/10/2018 12:56

Hi everyone, I've had to name change as have changed email addresses and forgot my password. Last year was the first time I had used this thread and it was invaluable so I am hoping for some great bargains again this year.

Argos have the Fisher price little people farm for £22.99, I've just ordered one for DS.

Elphaba17 · 15/10/2018 13:00

Just reading back and see some posts saying the m and s codes expire today- I got a lots of codes in the post today but they're valid from 18th Oct to 22nd oct. Do they send them out in waves? I'll offer them on here when they're active, or if anyone wants one now to wait till the 18th just let me know.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 15/10/2018 13:02

Can any of you wonderful lot recommend inexpensive gifts for my 11.5yo DD? She's a sweet, quiet, introverted type and I'm ripping my hair out trying to think of ideas for the first time ever. She's become such a freaking hermit since turning 11 and likes to squirrel herself away in her room for hours on end.

She's getting a laptop with The Sims 4 preloaded on it as a joint gift between me and her GP's. Given it's such a big, expensive gift, she won't be getting MUCH else, but I would still like to get her a few small bits, so the tree isn't looking frightfully bare come Christmas morning. It's been like Santa's workshop in the past as I've been able to pick up toys, etc. cheaply, but she's grown out of toys now. She always gets a new pair of PJ's on Christmas Eve, but after that I'm kind of stuck. Interests include:

  • Reading. I'll take any book recs going. She demolishes 2-3 books a week! She's developing a bit of an interest in fantasy/dystopian science fiction now.
  • KPop, especially BTS.
  • Harry Potter.
  • Writing stories.
  • Llamas.
  • Tacky crap for her bedroom.
Spam88 · 15/10/2018 14:02

mary you can combine some of those and get some tacky Harry Potter stuff for her room? Primark have lots of cushions and blankets. Or a very fluffy Hedwig hot water bottle.

I guess she's probably read Divergent, Hunger Games and Maze Runner if she's into that genre? His Dark Materials are a must as well. Not that genre, but John Green books are good as well. Let me know if you get any good recommendations, I love a bit of YA fantasy 😂

BlueNeighbourhood · 15/10/2018 14:11

Mary - How about some of those fairy lights that you put up around your bed/bedroom? Everyone seems to love those now.

Vox is a really good book, if she's at an advanced reading age I'd recommend that too.

DaisyChops · 15/10/2018 14:13

12 M&S codes here, let's see if I'm clever enough to attach photos...

Home Bargains are doing slime advent calendars for £6.99

Smellybears · 15/10/2018 14:31

@Mary how about a personalized book mark? I bought my mum a reading light a few years ago, it clips onto the back of a book and is flexible so you can position it however you like.
Lush goodies? Mug with hot chocolate sachets, face mask, fluffy socks? Nail stickers, nail varnish? Light boxes seem to go down well too, the ones where you can put different phrases on? Cinema tickets-cinemas normally do a presentation tin with a couple of tickets and I think popcorn vouchers in. Grin
