Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Lego advent calendar still got 20% off I'm crazy gonna give in and buy one for my nephew before they go up https://amzn.to/2zNIRmq my luck they will drop more once I buy Hmm

Drummingisfun · 03/10/2018 14:20

Ahhh, there's no tesco anywhere near me now. Are the deals good enough to warrant a special trip? It's about half an hour to the nearest that stocks toys.

CheekyFucker · 03/10/2018 14:23

@SockEatingMonster result!! Grin

TheOwlandMe · 03/10/2018 14:27

Not bargains as such but just shocked by how close we are getting now...that was my local Sainsbury’s shelves stocked with their Xmas gifts. Lots of Harry Potter bits though didn’t look too closely. Hoping they are doing their nectar double up again in November I think it is usually? Does anyone know when the next 25% off clothing is or their toy sale?

Then I’ve just got an email from M&S xmas food is available to order...yum! I always do an M&S meal (I can’t cook Blush) but just pick up in store throughout December if I see yellow stickers (ie reduced!) and freeze until needed. Got really cheap turkey, stuffings, sauces and sausages last year then I buy veggies etc nearer time. Good way to get M&S meal cheaper. I had good look though this year’s food and I sooo wish I had a load of guests to invite around and do a big meal but there is only ever 4 adults and 2 tiny ones so not worth it as we’d be eating leftovers for ages.

TheOwlandMe · 03/10/2018 14:36

Drumming my local Tesco (its a superstore) was disappointing. Some playmobil (ambulance and police car) but no Lego. Dolls (not sure which ones). Wasn’t worth my trip but then i could have hit it when they werwere low on a stock as seems others have had more luck. Maybe ring yours if there is something specific you are going for to check they have in store.

margaritasbythesea · 03/10/2018 14:45

Drumming there was nothing at all in my local Tesco.

Redrosebelle · 03/10/2018 14:46

Tu clothing 25% rumoured to be 23rd October
Toy sale is almost definitely 17th October

yumyumpoppycat · 03/10/2018 14:48

I wish the sainsburys sale wasn't in half term! How are we supposed to do secret shopping?

Chocolateunicorn · 03/10/2018 14:58

Really should not read this thread! Today I've ordered exploding kittens ( never heard of it 😂 ) and spent £100 in Tesco on Lego sets need guns and a weird looking unicorn teddy I know did will love 🙄

Coldilox · 03/10/2018 15:14

Playmobil Ice Cream Van out of stock at Tescos online and my local shop barely stocks any toys. Sad

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 03/10/2018 15:25

The Sainsbury's toy sale will be before half term and the 25% off clothing is usually during.

BlueOooChristmas · 03/10/2018 15:41

Just updating my Christmas speadsheet (nerd) after all the purchases I've made this week. This thread is awesome for ideas and deals, thanks everyone.

So lets see if anyone can help - what do you guys put in the kids stockings (if you do them)? I have DD3 and DD6 and I struggle with what to put in them each year. So far I have some squishie blind bag things and chocolate coins and I'm already devoid of ideas lol. Help please!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 03/10/2018 15:50

Those of you who like your giant cuddly toys (unicorns in particular) when I walked past our local Iceland the other day I could see giant pink unicorns for £30 or £35, can't remember exactly.

I did just look on the website but could only see Giant teddy bears or giant dogs that are 4'4" tall

Wait4nothing · 03/10/2018 15:54

Dd (2.5) is having chocolate coins, magazine with attached crap, colourful plasters, mermaid stickers and maybe a torch - should keep her busy for the time it takes to feed and change her brother but we open presents as soon as we go down so most stuff is under the tree. I was going to include hair bobbles and clips but her grandma is doing an advent calendar and putting some in there

PlayingForKittens · 03/10/2018 15:55

The Lego cargo train I bought for Small Boy arrived. The box is huge! How the hell am I going to hide it until Christmas?

I really want to build it.

Then I let myself be side tracked by the snow globe talk and though I missed out on that Amazon had previous little Christmas sets for fairly cheap so I bought 3 of them to use as make your own Lego advent calendars.

Wait4nothing · 03/10/2018 15:56

I’m keeping my eye out for large personalised soft toys at Disney if anyone spots a deal please let me know

Wilhelminawonka · 03/10/2018 16:06

Bought a sparkle girlz campervan from asda online for £25 down from £60 (with a 15% online discount)
That's dd2 sorted

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 03/10/2018 16:12

I'm on the look-out for a good deal on a quality marble run - please shout if your spot one!

Where is the best place to buy a cheap TV - doesn't need to be superior quality or massive as it's just for the kids' playroom

fraggle84 · 03/10/2018 16:13

Currys for the tv on Black Friday

John Lewis do a good accidental guarantee though for a good price if you think it might get damaged

Penguinbeaver · 03/10/2018 17:10

playing for kittens could you please tell me which small Lego Christmas sets you have got from Amazon as that sounds like the kind of thing I'm after please Thanks

wastingmoretime · 03/10/2018 17:23

@BlueOooChristmas I have a DD9 and DS12 but Ive usually put, socks, underwear, bath toys, bubble bath, colouring or note pads and pens. I try to out things in which they know I wouldn't usually let them have. That makes them think its from Santa! Im putting in a jar of M&M choc spread this year because I say know to it every time they ask!

wastingmoretime · 03/10/2018 17:24

*put

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 03/10/2018 17:29

Thanks fraggle - will hold on till BF

MerryTwinkletoes · 03/10/2018 17:52

Slightly odd request, but has anyone seen any shark bath toys around please? DS 2.5 is baby shark obsessed and this would make him very very happy!

BrieAndChilli · 03/10/2018 17:58

Octonauts will have sharks in some of thier sets. DS2 could name what types of shark they all were!
