Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

You might pick up a bilibo second hand. Mine has been in the garden for years and hasn’t faded so I think they’re made to outlast humanity.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 23/09/2018 09:19

@IWishYouWere I can't see it online. I'll get a pic from the booklet!

BanoffeePieIsMyFave · 23/09/2018 09:30

Peppa pig advent calendar is reduced a little on amazon, currently out of stock but can order and say will deliver when available

For the Argos 3 for 2 sale, what happens if you have (say) 3 x £20 items and 3 x £10 items in the order? Does it take the 2 cheapest off (ie 2 x£10) or is it smart enough to recognise that you should have 1x£15 and 1x£10 off?

Also, what happens with the deals like 2 for £15 deals once 3for2 is in? Do they combine in any way, or does one take priority over the other?

About to put in a click-and-collect order to pick up once 3for2 starts, and figuring whether I need to split into multiple orders! Grin

nordicwannabe · 23/09/2018 09:37

Sorry - 1x£20 and 1x£10 in that first example. How to confuse things completely!

Matilda2013 · 23/09/2018 09:56

I think with Argos you have to do two separate orders of the 3 at £20 and then the 3 at £10 to get maximum discount or it will take two £10 off

Singingitoverandoverandover · 23/09/2018 09:58

@nordicwannabe
It’s either 2for£15/2for £30 deals OR 3for2. You don’t get both.

You have to do separate transactions at till for your orders, grouped yourself, to get you the best discount. Or the till automatically just takes all the cheaper prices off for the free ones.

LokiBear · 23/09/2018 10:04

You have to do two seperate transactions. I found tgat Argos put their prices up inbthe 3 4 2 sale last year. An item id been watching at £16 became £20 on 3 4 2.

itsonlysubterfuge · 23/09/2018 10:06

nordic It should take off the 2 cheapest.

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 23/09/2018 10:07

Anyone else stalking the Woolovers site for another bargainous deal?? Could do with some new jumpers!

Singingitoverandoverandover · 23/09/2018 10:10

Yes Argos it’s pants. They put up the prices and last time it wa sonly “certain” toys included and nothing I wanted had been included.
Amazon also drop prices significantly within a few days of Argos 3for2 starting, of anything argos has in its sale. Much cheaper. It’s only really useful if you are buying 3 items that are NEVER reduced anywhere and you want to pay by Argos card etc

ismellsnow · 23/09/2018 10:12

Up to 50% off sale at campus gifts

Singingitoverandoverandover · 23/09/2018 10:14

Where is the info about Argos 3 for 2 being tomorrow? Hadn’t heard

saladfingers · 23/09/2018 10:15

@bestofluck many thanks for those links, the puzzles look great. @Jfw82 Perfume another good idea. Can I ask you both and @lifelongfruguleer which shops do your kids prefer for their clothes? Smile

BestofLuck · 23/09/2018 10:48

@saladfingers I’m a bit of a magpie in terms of clothes for my daughter in that I’ll look anywhere. She’s not ‘into’ clothes per say, but she’s definitely outgrown much of the Boden range for example. John Lewis has some good stuff, H&M and Tu - although think she’s growing out of the styles there now. She’s a very tall 11yo. Interested to hear where others go.

Jfw82 · 23/09/2018 10:54

@saladfingers she quite likes gap, has had bugs from hollister and superdry but not especially bothered just yet on where stuff is from

Jfw82 · 23/09/2018 10:55

Bits not bugs!

Jammiebammie · 23/09/2018 12:05

@BestofLuck my dd2 is 11 and her favourite shop is new look (the teen range starts at age 9 which suits her as she’s tiny) they often have really good deals such as 20% off and there homeware for teens is lovely too.
She also likes river island and Abercrombie as well as sports brand (Adidas and Nike). She’s become a hard age for clothes tbh as she’s really conscious of brands and fashion now (probably thanks to her older sis) She has asked for a Gucci hoody and she can jog on 🤣

Does the Argos sale not usually start on a Tuesday? If we reserve items now will they still be available when 3for2 starts? Also keep an eye out on amazon as I’ve found in previous years they reduce a lot of their items to coincide with Argos, and sometimes you get a better deal - especially as your not searching to add a 3rd item you didn’t really want just because it’s free Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/09/2018 12:58

@salad and best dd is not really into clothes but YY gap for leggings and T shirt, new look, h&m.
DS is a scooter bit so skate park brand but still some Tu basics

sizeofalentil · 23/09/2018 13:17

@Fannyfanakerpants - I just ordered a baby-sized one in pink from eBay for £5, which included p&p.

Dh and I have adult-sized ones in blue and purple which we use all the time, so didn't want DD to miss out!

imip · 23/09/2018 13:29

Almost 12yo dd and 10yo dd (the same size) live in gap jeans and are really starting to love Monki www.monki.com/en_gbp/clothing/tops.html some of its a bit grown-up (I’ve got a couple of dresses) but they love their cropped jumpers and t-shirts and avocado docks!

imip · 23/09/2018 13:30

And Next - they have some lovely winter coats this year

Singingitoverandoverandover · 23/09/2018 13:34

25% off all Tesco clothing from Thursday

BestofLuck · 23/09/2018 14:01

Love it @jammiebammie Grin - they love the brands but sometimes idea of costs. Thanks for jogging my memory - New Look's a good shout. Not thought of River Island but must look next time we're searching for clothes. Thanks @imip I've not heard of Monki.

BestofLuck · 23/09/2018 14:01

Meant no idea of costs.
