Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Hi can I join in. Will follow thread from now rather than trying to catch up.

I actually had bought this year's first Christmas present a couple of months ago when Tesco direct were closing. As the dc were in when I collected it from Tesco I decided to hide it in the recycling bin until they were in bed and then retrieve it …. I think you can guess how this story ends - not a great bargain that's for sure!

MsMiaWallace · 22/09/2018 19:28

Just checking in to this fab thread :)

donkeysandzebras · 22/09/2018 19:29

Lands End have 25% off all weekend. The code is on the website. The clothes are quite pricey but last forever and aren't all covered in glitter & unicorns. After an afternoon of traipsing the high st with DD looking for something which wasn't pink & didn't have anything sparkly or had a unicorn on it, it was a relief to go onto the Lands End website.

donkeysandzebras · 22/09/2018 19:30

Oh, and the other thing I like about Lands End is that it's not as identifiable as Boden or Joules.

PinkSquash · 22/09/2018 20:14

I have a plea, DS1 needs a onesie for lounging, but is in a mens medium and doesn't want a hood on it at all, struggling to find something, anything that fits the bill!

Love these threads Flowers

My dds want electric scooters for Christmas, anyone either seen any bargains or got any recommendations? Also dd2 is only 4, will she actually be able to use one?

Fannyfanakerpants · 22/09/2018 20:39

It might be a bit last year but I'm after a mermaid blanket for my 5 year old. Any suggestions?

SheStoodInTheStorm · 22/09/2018 20:40

In Costco today - they have a HUGE dolls house for around £100. It looked amazing!
Magformers, v-tech things, Lego advent calendar etc.

I'm on the look out for decent (but purse friendly) gifts for teachers etc.

LokiBear · 22/09/2018 20:47

We have that dolls house. It is amazing and loved by every kid that visits. It is fricking huge though!

DaisyChops · 22/09/2018 20:57

@Fannyfanakerpants, I got DDs mermaid blanket from home bargains, it was only £5 I think, would recommend.

I keep walking DD past that dolls house and the OG dolls and she couldn't be less interested much to my disappointment!

imsorryiasked · 22/09/2018 21:04

@PinkSquash try googling "mens sleepsuit". I found this one
I'm sure there was a website on this thread last year that had more traditional looking ones which someone else might remember.

TheOwlandMe · 22/09/2018 21:27

Can anyone remember a year (maybe two) ago everyone was getting a plastic semi-circle shaped toy for open end play (could sit in, spin, step on, etc etc)?! I’ve tried googling and just can’t find it. My life was too small at the time so I passed on the bargain. It was from one specific website which I remember had loads of nice different toys especially a man or family set with sticky pads and they stretched and could be stuck into different surfaces.

TheOwlandMe · 22/09/2018 21:29

Arrrgg hit post too quickly...making my message seem even more random that it already does Blush

Long story short...anyone remember wht the website was or even the name of the plastic type toy or the stretchy men (sorry this seems so random!!)

hmslfc · 22/09/2018 21:31

Owl Bilibos are the toys. They are fab, still played with loads 3 years later!

Groupon have mermaid blankets and shark ones for ten quid

saladfingers · 22/09/2018 21:34

Christmas shopping was so much easier when my children were younger. My 10year old son won't be a problem as he'll be getting a phone ready for high school. But I'm completely stumped for DD (11) who isn't into clothes or makeup yet but seems to have outgrown unicorns and all things sparkly. Similarly DS2 (9) I don't have a single idea and neither does he. The good news is that the magic of Father Christmas might yet survive another Christmas. Please can you tell me what your preteens are asking for? Tia. Smile

gaggiagirl · 22/09/2018 21:34

owl I know exactly what you mean and I wish I had got one when it was reduced.
It was a semi sphere /shell type thingy wasn't it?

gaggiagirl · 22/09/2018 21:35

Ah there they are. Mega cross post there!

ninjaturtlesmum · 22/09/2018 21:36

ipod nano - you can get second hand ones in good condition still often with original packaging. Make sure you get noise limited headphones!

We love the old nanos.
